With so many green drinks out there today, it’s tough to stand out. But can Alani Nu Super Greens take one of the top spots as a superfood supplement? Read on to find out.

Alani Nu Super Greens Ingredients

As mentioned, Alani Nu Super Greens is a superfood powder, and it is designed to be taken daily. And each serving (one scoop) has just 25 calories along with 5g of carbs, 1g of protein, and 2g of fiber.

Here is the full ingredient label with all of the active ingredients:

Alkalizing Greens Blend

The first blend we’ll look at is the Alkalizing Greens Blend, which contains alfalfa grass, oat grass, wheatgrass, barley grass, lemon juice, kale, astragalus, spirulina, and chlorella, all of which are organic.

So, it’s a mixture of cereal grasses, lemon juice, and algae essentially, all of which have numerous health benefits.

Cereal grasses and algae are all loaded with chlorophyll, calcium, potassium, magnesium, iron, vitamin K, vitamin C, active enzymes, antioxidants, and many other beneficial nutrients.

Regular consumption of these “greens” ingredients is associated with detoxification, reduced cholesterol, improved digestion, healthier blood sugar, reduced cancer risk, and enhanced immune function. Plus, a lot of these ingredients have an alkalizing effect, which helps to reduce excess acidity in the body. (In general, meat, grains, dairy, and oils are acidic in nature, whereas fruits, herbs, and vegetables are more alkaline).

Antioxidant Fruit Blend

A nice complement to the Alkalizing Greens Blend is the Antioxidant Fruit Blend, which has amla, goji berry, pomegranate, acerola berry, mangosteen, strawberry juice, cranberry juice, and other berries.

So, there are clearly quite a few berries in here, which is good since all types of berries are loaded with polyphenols, carotenoids, vitamin C, and other antioxidants and phytonutrients. Regular consumption of berries is associated with reduced inflammation and a decreased risk of cardiovascular disease, diabetes, obesity, cancer, and many other diseases. Plus, they can improve gut health, reduce cholesterol and blood pressure, and offer many other benefits.

Inulin

Up next is inulin, which is a type of prebiotic fiber, in this case, taken from Jerusalem artichoke. Inulin isn’t digested, so it reaches the intestinal tract, where it can increase short-chain fatty acids and improve overall gut health by benefiting the gut bacteria.

Spectra Antioxidant Blend

Another blend in Alani Nu Super Greens is the Spectra Antioxidant Blend, which contains 29 total ingredients, including numerous fruits, vegetables, and herbs.

Some of the ingredients in here include Arabic coffee, green tea, quercetin, broccoli, turmeric, garlic, cinnamon, spinach, blueberry, kale, and bilberry.

We won’t go over every ingredient in this blend, but in general, all of these different ingredients provide a range of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and other phytochemicals. And many of these ingredients offer anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects, while benefiting overall health and wellness.

And specific clinical research on Spectra shows that it can reduce reactive oxygen species, decrease inflammation, support cellular oxygen consumption, and boost overall antioxidant activity.

Recommended Dose: 100mg

DigeZyme Multi-Enzyme Complex

Now let’s look at the DigeZyme Multi-Enzyme Complex, which includes amylase, protease, cellulase, lactase, lipase, and maltodextrin.

Basically, all of these enzymes help to digest different substances and improve overall absorption.

Specifically, amylase digests carbs; protease digests protein; cellulase digests cellulose; lactase digests lactose; and lipase digests fats. So, all of these enzymes can increase the digestion and absorption of not only the many ingredients in Alani Nu Super Greens but also any food you eat during the day.

Plus, specific research on DigeZyme shows it can enhance the absorption of vitamins and minerals. And research on digestive enzymes, in general, shows benefits for digestion and overall gut health.

Probiotic Blend

The final blend in Alani Nu Super Greens is the Probiotic Blend, which contains Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium strains, along with Prebiotic fructooligosaccharides.

The different probiotics included in this formula offer a way to enhance gut health by increasing the number of good bacteria in the intestinal tract. This can improve gut barrier function, digestion, and even immune health, while decreasing many digestive symptoms such as bloating and gas.

And fructooligosaccharides have a prebiotic effect, meaning that they help feed the good bacteria (probiotics) and can increase the total number of probiotics. So, fructooligosaccharides might work in tandem with the probiotics in here for a synergistic effect on gut health.

Does Alani Nu Super Greens Work?

Overall, Alani Nu Super Greens looks like a pretty good greens supplement. It has dozens of different fruits, vegetables, and herbs, all of which provide numerous antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, and other phytonutrients that have been proven to offer many health benefits.

Of course, many of the ingredients are included in a blend, which makes it impossible to tell how much of each ingredient is in here.

The Alkalizing Greens Blend and Antioxidant Fruit Blend combine for a total weight of 6g, which is pretty good overall, but I’d like to see it at around 10g ideally.

Also, the Spectra Antioxidant Blend is half of what it should be, but this still should provide some pretty good antioxidant effects.

Yet, the dosage for inulin is really low, so this might not provide any real benefits.

I do like how they listed the active units for each of the digestive enzymes, so you know how much you’re getting.

Also, the inclusion of different probiotics and prebiotics should help to further enhance gut health and makes this supplement unique from some other products.

Claims vs. Reality

Likely the biggest benefit you’ll see from Alani Nu Super Greens is improved gut health since it includes a solid combination of fruits, vegetables, herbs, digestive enzymes, prebiotics, and probiotics.

You also may experience an increase in energy and overall feelings of health and vitality, since there are many antioxidant and anti-inflammatory compounds in here, which have a carryover effect into overall health.

Plus, this could benefit your immune system by providing the body with the critical micronutrients it needs.

I wouldn’t expect Alani Nu Super Greens to provide you with a huge boost in any one particular area, but it should provide a nice additional boost to your overall health and wellness, especially when taken regularly alongside a healthy diet.

Who is Alani Nu Super Greens Best For?

Alani Nu Super Greens is best for anyone who has trouble getting in enough fruits, vegetables, and micronutrients on a daily basis. But it can really be taken by anyone looking to add in more nutrition to their diet and to get some extra benefits for gut health, immune function, and overall health.

Is Alani Nu Super Greens Safe?

Alani Nu Super Greens should be pretty safe overall, but here are some potential side effects:

  • Nausea, bloating, digestive discomfort, and other digestive symptoms

Also, Alani Nu Super Greens is vegan, gluten-free, and made in the USA in a GMP-certified facility.

Where to Buy Alani Nu Super Greens

You can buy Alani Nu Super Greens on the Alani Nu website at this product link

Each container has 30 servings (30 scoops). The regular price is $49.99 ($1.67/serving), or you can save 5% by choosing the Subscribe and Save option, which lowers the price to $47.49 ($1.58/serving).

These prices are definitely pretty good for a superfood supplement, and even lower than some other ones that can cost more than two dollars per serving.

Final Verdict: Alani Nu Super Greens Review

Alani Nu Super Greens isn’t anything spectacular, but it is a nice, well-rounded superfoods supplement with a wide array of fruits, vegetables, and herbs to provide numerous nutrients. The inclusion of digestive-supporting ingredients also makes it a little more unique. We’d ideally like to see higher dosages of some of the ingredients, but as a whole, it’s still a nice greens supplement worth checking out.
