Nitrosurge Pre-Workout Review

Nitrosurge Pre-workout is an energy-boosting supplement that helps you obtain better results in the gym by improving strength, focus, and endurance.

From professional athletes to workout warriors, many are looking for ways to get better results from their workouts. The only way you’ll get better results, though, is by pushing harder and harder over time and then, of course, adequately recovering from that.

To go harder, faster, and stronger, we often turn to pre-workout boosters for that extra edge. There is a boatload of pre-workout supplements available to choose from, but many of them are all talk and no results, leaving users spinning their wheels.

However, a select few stand out from the crowd and do what they claim. One of these choices that’s changing the game is Nitrosurge Pre-Workout. This Jacked Factory’s pre-workout claims to provide focus, energy, powerful pumps, and the muscle growth you’ve been searching for. The question is, does Nitrosurge genuinely live up to all the claims?

In this Nitrosurge Pre-Workout review, we’ll take a closer look at this Jacked Factory supplement, its ingredients, claims, side effects, and more. Ready to find out if you should add this pre-workout to your routine? Let’s get started!

About Nitrosurge Pre-Workout

Nitrosurge Pre-Workout, by Jacked Factory, is designed to be a maximum-strength pre-workout powder, giving users myriad benefits. Jacked Factory aims to include only research-backed ingredients that are effective on their own and create a synergistic effect when combined. Nitrosurge is marketed towards anyone looking for better workouts and better results for their physique and/or athletic performance.

Nitrosurge Benefits

Through its combination of scientifically proven ingredients, Nitrosurge Pre-Workout claims to deliver many benefits, including increased energy and strength, enhanced endurance, and powerful muscular pumps. And all of this, they claim, will help you build more muscle and shred off fat. Its three main benefits include laser focus, muscle growth, and powerful pumps.

Laser Focus/Energy

Nitrosurge claims you’ll have more focus and energy due to key ingredients, such as the caffeine/l-theanine combination and theobromine.

Muscle Growth

More efficient workouts lead to more muscle growth; hence, Nitrosurge includes ingredients intended to help you work out harder and longer, such as l-citrulline, beta-alanine, and betaine anhydrous.

Powerful Pumps

Nitrosurge also claims it can give you the coveted muscular pump, mainly from the ingredients l-citrulline and beta-alanine.

Overall, Nitrosurge is designed to help you get the most from your workouts and get the best possible results. The question is, are these claims legit, or is this just another “all talk but no walk” supplement? To find out, read below!

Nitrosurge Pre-Workout Ingredients

Nitrosurge claims that all its ingredients are scientifically crafted and designed to deliver synergistic benefits. We’ll see just exactly how true this is when looking at these ingredients found in Nitrosurge’s formula

  • L-Citrulline
  • Betaine Anhydrous
  • Beta-Alanine
  • Caffeine Anhydrous
  • L-Theanine
  • Theobromine
  • AstraGin (Astralagus Root Extract and Panax Notoginseng Root Extract)

(Note: All ingredient amounts will be listed in terms of the 1-scoop (9.3g) serving size.)

Nitrosurge-Supplement Facts

L-Citrulline

The first ingredient listed in Nitrosurge is 3 grams of L-Citrulline. L-citrulline is an amino acid and has several well-researched benefits, including a significant increase in strength and power performance compared to placebos. It also enhances exercise and recovery in both anaerobic (e.g., weightlifting) and aerobic (e.g., jogging) exercises.

One of the main ways these benefits are thought to occur is through increased nitric oxide production, which leads to improved blood flow, especially to the muscles. This is all likely true, although more research is needed.

Overall, since l-citrulline can improve blood flow to the muscles during and after exercise, it seems effective for performance during workouts and recovery afterward.

Betaine Anhydrous

Next up is betaine anhydrous. Nitrosurge contains 1.25g of this per serving. Betaine is actually found naturally in foods such as spinach, grains, and beets. However, the performance/workout benefits are only seen from high levels of this compound from supplementation. One researched benefit is that it appears to promote higher fat loss when engaged in strength training.

So, you can’t just sit on your ass and take betaine and expect to lose fat, but what it means is that you’ll likely be able to lose more fat when you work out and take betaine consistently.

Some studies also show that betaine can delay fatigue and lead to greater strength and power gains, but quite a few studies show no effect in this area. Nonetheless, there is enough initial research that makes betaine a cut above several other workout ingredients. Most studies use 2.5g or more of betaine, whereas Nitrosurge only contains 1.25g.

Beta-Alanine

Nitrosurge contains 1.6g of beta-alanine per serving. Beta-alanine is a naturally occurring amino acid. One of its key roles is that it is necessary for muscle carnosine synthesis. Basically, carnosine is essential for muscular output during exercise, and beta-alanine helps to produce more carnosine. So, the logic is that beta-alanine supplementation would improve exercise performance, and this seems to be true.

The greatest benefit appears to be improved exercise capacity, meaning you simply get more done. For example, maybe you can complete 3 sets of 12 reps on a given exercise instead of only 12 reps for two sets and 8 on the last set.

Most of the exercise benefits occur with doses ranging from 3.2g to 6.4g, which is quite a bit higher than what Nitrosurge contains. But some benefits are still seen at 1.6g. Overall, beta-alanine seems to be effective, especially for higher-intensity workouts.

Caffeine Anhydrous

Nitrosurge Pre-Workout contains 180mg of this specific form of caffeine per serving. Caffeine, in any form, is a stimulant which means it activates the sympathetic nervous system; this can lead to increased blood flow to the muscles and brain, which is why it is often used in many pre-workouts.

That’s not to say there aren’t options out there with less or no caffeine if you are sensitive to the stuff; for example, BlackWolf Pre-Workout offers a caffeine-free alternative, and Shroom TECH Sport is an energy supplement with no caffeine.

Caffeine can provide some solid benefits, though. Research shows that caffeine provides physical benefits for workouts and acts as a cognitive booster, leading to a one-two punch of effectiveness. To get the most benefits for workouts, you need to take at least 2mg/kg of body weight, so 180mg might not give you that, depending on your weight.

L-Theanine

Nitrosurge Pre-Workout contains 90mg of L-theanine per serving. An amino acid found in green tea, l-theanine, is a great synergist to caffeine because it provides a calm, focused state. So, it essentially helps to channel the energy you get from caffeine more effectively. Research shows it also has cognitive-enhancing benefits as well. When you combine caffeine with l-theanine, you’re likely to see improved reaction time, delayed mental fatigue, and overall better cognitive function, all things you want when pushing hard through a challenging workout. However, Nitrosurge only has 90mg of l-theanine, which is slightly less than traditionally used (around 200mg).

Theobromine

The final ergogenic ingredient is theobromine, coming in at 50mg per serving. Theobromine is a compound found naturally in chocolate (cocoa) and has been used primarily for psychological benefits. However, since it is a stimulant somewhat similar to caffeine, it also is used for physical benefits.

There is a lack of research on the specific exercise-enhancing effects of theobromine. Still, early research shows that it is likely a performance-enhancing substance, at least in running exercises.

However, given that the 50mg dose is relatively weak and that there aren’t many (if any) studies on it related to weightlifting or other workouts, it’s hard to tell how good it will be. If theobromine does anything in Nitrosurge, it will likely be just a very small roleplayer.

AstraGin

The last ingredient in Nitrosurge is 25mg of AstraGin, which stands for astralagus root extract, and Panax ginseng root extract. Astralagus and ginseng have been used for thousands of years, especially in Chinese medicine.

Unlike the other ingredients, this was put in mainly to “increase the efficacy of each ingredient by enhancing their absorption and bioavailability.” Because it’s not just what you take in that matters, but also how much you actually absorb.

Plus, research shows that AstraGin does improve the absorption of many substances, including amino acids, vitamins, and peptides, and can enhance gut health. Yet, the maker recommended using at least 50mg, which is double the dose that Nitrosurge has.

Nitrosurge pre-workout is sugar, carb, fat, and calorie-free.

Claims vs. Reality

This leads me to my next point when discussing claims vs. reality. So, will you be able to get the main claims of laser focus, muscle growth, and powerful pumps? Possibly.

The caffeine and l-theanine combination likely will give you cognitive benefits and perhaps more focus, but the dose should ultimately be higher. And l-citrulline, betaine anhydrous, and beta-alanine are proven to help you work out harder for longer, which could lead to more muscle growth (as long as you’re adequately recovering).

And finally, many of the ingredients in Nitrosurge are proven to enhance blood flow, especially l-citrulline, so you are likely to achieve a better pump. But it is unclear if this pump will be powerful or just simply a little better than usual.

What Nitrosurge lacks in individual ingredient dose effectiveness, it makes up for by providing combinations that will likely provide synergistic effects.

Who is Nitrosurge Best For?

Due to its variety of ingredients, Nitrosurge Pre-Workout can be used by anyone who participates in exercise, whether anaerobic or aerobic, recreationally or professionally, etc.

However, it seems the best for people who strength train and want to build muscle. The aerobic and endurance benefits are there too, but it is more applicable to weightlifters, bodybuilders, and people involved in high-intensity activities.

Is Nitrosurge Pre-Workout Safe?

Nitrosurge contains many ingredients, but they all appear safe and have few side effects. One thing to note is that beta-alanine may produce tingling sensations in some people. Also, since caffeine and theobromine are stimulants, they have the potential to produce jitteriness, anxiety, or increased heart rate.

Anybody with blood pressure or heart issues should also be cautious simply because Nitrosurge influences cardiovascular function, such as blood flow, blood pressure, and heart rate.

One other positive thing is that Jacked Factory is manufactured in the USA in a cGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practices) certified facility. They also have quality control guidelines for maximum potency, quality, and safety.

Jacked Nutrition Nitrosurge Website

Overall, Nitrosurge is likely to provide some benefits to your workouts, but I wouldn’t expect anything crazy. On a positive note, all of the ingredients in Nitrosurge are backed by research. But on a negative note, many of their ingredients aren’t at the effective dose seen in research.

For example, Nitrosurge contains only half of the recommended dose for betaine and beta-alanine, and they likely undershot the dose for l-citrulline and caffeine.

However, keep in mind that research studies typically only look at one ingredient by itself when analyzing its benefits. Given that Nitrosurge contains a combination of these ingredients, the doses simply might not need to be as high.

You are likely to experience some benefits from this product. Specifically, you will likely be able to work out harder, have more focus and energy, and possibly improve strength and endurance.
