swolverine pre workout review

Stim-free pre-workouts are becoming increasingly popular for people who still want to get a workout boost, but don’t want to ingest any caffeine or other stimulants.

These pre-workouts work as great options for people who are simply too sensitive to caffeine and stimulants, as well as for lifters who have to (or want to) work out later in the day without affecting sleep.

One stim-free pre-workout that we’re going over in this article is called Swolverine Pre-Workout. Keep reading our Swolverine Pre-Workout review to learn all about this supplement’s ingredients, features, doses, benefits, and who should buy it.

Let’s get started!

About Swolverine Pre-Workout

Swolverine Pre-Workout is a non-stim pre-workout made by Swolverine. This fitness supplement company has many other supplements too, such as Swolverine Therm, Swolverine Kre-Alkalyn, Swolverine Greens + Reds, and Swolverine BCAA

There are eight clinically-researched ingredients in Swolverine Pre-Workout, including common ergogenics such as citrulline malate, beta alanine, and betaine, all of which are designed to boost your strength, power, and endurance.

Swolverine Pre also uses powerful superfoods to enhance hydration and blood flow, such as pomegranate fruit and coconut water.

Altogether, Swolverine Pre-Workout is designed to truly be a top-notch formula because not only does it use science-backed, natural ingredients; they say that all compounds are dosed optimally, and they use a fully transparent label so you can actually see everything that you’re getting.

Swolverine Pre-Workout Benefits

Swolverine Pre-Workout is advertised to give you all of the workout benefits you care about, just without the stimulants and possible crash!

Below are Swolverine Pre-Workout’s main claimed benefits

  • Increased Strength
  • Better Recovery
  • Improved Athletic Performance & Endurance

Increased Strength

Getting stronger on your lifts is one of the most necessary things for progress. And if you’re not getting stronger, you likely won’t build muscle or improve your physique as much as possible.

Swolverine Pre-Workout claims to enhance your strength by giving your muscles the nutrients they need for optimal performance. They say that citrulline malate, pomegranate, and betaine will all work together to enhance nitric oxide and blood flow to the muscles, leading to stronger muscular contractions.

Plus, beta-alanine is used to delay muscle fatigue so you can feel stronger all the way through your entire set, rather than needing to drop the weights a rep or two earlier.

Improved Athletic Performance & Endurance

Fatigue, lack of endurance, and poor blood flow all can negatively affect your athletic performance. This is true whether you’re a weightlifter, runner, or anywhere in between.

But Swolverine Pre is advertised to boost many aspects of athletic performance, including strength and endurance.

Swolverine Pre-Workout contains a combination of natural energizers such as ginseng alongside proven workout-enhancers, such as citrulline malate, beta-alanine, and carnitine. These may all work together to boost muscular endurance, slash fatigue, and enhance blood flow, for total athletic performance optimization.

Better Recovery

Without proper recovery, your muscles won’t be ready for your next workout, which can lead to plateaus in strength and even overall health.

While Swolverine Pre-Workout is designed as a pre-workout, they also claim that it will improve recovery. Specifically, pomegranate and betaine are filled with antioxidant rich compounds, phenolics, and nitrates, which are designed to target inflammation, speed up nutrient delivery and blood flow to the muscles, and reduce muscle soreness.

Now I’m sure anyone who’s serious about fitness and strength training would love these benefits. But will Swolverine Pre actually work as a non-stim pre-workout?

Keep reading to see for sure!

Swolverine Pre-Workout Ingredients

Swolverine Pre-Workout contains eight ingredients. It’s a mixture of amino acids, plant extracts, and other compounds.

Below are all of the Swolverine Pre-Workout ingredients:

  • Citrulline Malate
  • CarnoSyn Beta-Alanine
  • Betaine Anhydrous
  • L-Carnitine
  • L-Taurine
  • Coconut Water
  • Eleuthero Root
  • Pomegranate Fruit

Citrulline Malate (5,000mg)

Citrulline malate is a combination of the amino acid, l-citrulline, and malic acid. Citrulline increases nitric oxide, which ultimately boosts blood flow and oxygen uptake into the muscles.

On top of that, the malic acid portion may help to delay fatigue by increasing energy production in the muscles.

Overall, research shows that citrulline malate can improve exercise performance, such as endurance and strength. It may also boost recovery by enhancing blood flow and nutrients to the muscles.

There’s many other products that use this ingredient, including a massive dose of citrulline in malate in Wrecked Pre-Workout

CarnoSyn Beta-Alanine (3,200mg)

CarnoSyn is one of the most widely-used trademarked forms of beta-alanine, which is an amino acid.

Beta-alanine is potentially a great option for a pre-workout because it acts as a lactic acid buffer, which delays muscular fatigue. It also increases muscle carnosine stores, which are taxed during high-intensity workouts.

Beta-alanine seems most effective for improving exercise capacity in high-intensity workouts with efforts that last one to 10 minutes, such as for running, swimming, and weightlifting.

Betaine Anhydrous (2,500mg)

Betaine anhydrous is a common supplemented form of betaine, which is a molecule with many different effects in the body.

One of things betaine does is increase muscle cell hydration. Betaine may also decrease lactic acid build-up in the muscles and might even boost protein and creatine synthesis.

In terms of workout performance, betaine anhydrous seems best for improving muscular endurance in workouts with a lot of volume and metabolic stress (think of something like a 5×15 set and rep protocol, for example). But it also might increase strength and power too.

L-Carnitine (1,500mg)

L-carnitine is an amino acid derivative which aids in using fat for energy. This compound may also boost cellular energy and enhance antioxidant capacity.

There is some evidence which shows that carnitine supplementation increases high-intensity exercise performance, such as for weightlifting and cycling.

L-Taurine (1,200mg)

L-taurine is an amino acid found in particularly high concentration in the skeletal muscles. It plays critical roles in energy metabolism, inflammation control, and antioxidant functions.

Supplementing with taurine seems to be especially beneficial for endurance exercise, but it also may improve strength and power. Additionally, due to its ability to decrease inflammation and oxidative stress, taurine may reduce muscle soreness and improve recovery.

Coconut Water (1,000mg)

Coconut water powder contains many different electrolytes and minerals, which makes it a good hydrating compound.

There needs to be more research to see if it is truly a superior hydrating agent compared to other sports drinks. But it certainly won’t hurt exercise performance, and could be helpful if you’re exercising for long periods at a time.

Eleuthero Root (1,000mg)

Eleuthero root is an herb used in traditional medicine for increasing energy and vitality. A variety of compounds in eleuthero may enhance oxygen production and also seem to offer anti-stress effects.

There is evidence that eleuthero supplementation increases physical and mental endurance, and it also boosts stamina levels.

Pomegranate Fruit (500mg)

Pomegranate fruit powder is filled with a lot of polyphenols and other antioxidant compounds. These may boost blood flow, increase energy, and reduce inflammation.

This is likely why supplementing with pomegranate seems beneficial for enhancing strength and endurance, boosting heart health during exercise, and improving post-exercise recovery and soreness levels.

Not too shabby for one little fruit!

Does Swolverine Pre-Workout Work?

Swolverine Pre-Workout should very likely work for most people.

This non-stim formula is loaded with several well-researched pre-workout ingredients. And most importantly, many of these are actually dosed properly, such as citrulline malate, betaine, taurine, and beta-alanine.

As a result, it’s much more likely that you’ll actually receive the claimed benefits, such as for increased strength, power, endurance, and recovery.

How Does Swolverine Pre-Workout Compare?

When compared to other stim-free pre-workouts, Swolverine Pre is one of the best. In general, it’s a really solid product because it has a fully transparent label, uses effective ingredients, and actually has evidence-based doses.

This sets itself apart from many pre-workouts that use proprietary blends, low doses, and/or ineffective ingredients.

One of the pre-workouts that’s pretty similar to Swolverine Pre-Workout is BlackWolf Pre-Workout. Both of these supplements are loaded with similar ingredients, such as citrulline, beta-alanine, betaine, taurine, and coconut water powder. In terms of differences, BlackWolf has higher doses of citrulline, plus it also includes 3g of creatine. But Swolverine has higher doses of betaine and taurine.

Another difference is that BlackWolf has two flavors that come with caffeine and stimulants, and one flavor that doesn’t. So it has a bit more variety offered. But both pre-workouts are honestly great choices. And they cost roughly the same (about two dollars per serving).

Also, another product we wanted to compare Swolverine Pre-Workout to was Pump Serum by Huge Supplements.

Pump Serum is actually even higher-dosed than Swolverine Pre with key compounds such as citrulline, betaine, and pomegranate. It doesn’t have any beta-alanine, but instead focuses on several pump enhancers, such as beetroot, Nitrosigine, and VasoDrive-AP. Therefore, this non-stim pre-workout is a particularly good choice if you want maximal blood flow and pumps.

Who is Swolverine Pre-Workout Best For?

Swolverine Pre-Workout is best for people who want a non-stim pre-workout to enhance muscle endurance, boost strength and power, and support workout recovery.

How to Take Swolverine Pre-Workout

Swolverine Pre-Workout comes in powdered form. Mix one scoop with four to eight ounces of water and drink 15 to 30 minutes before your workout.

Is Swolverine Pre-Workout Safe?

All ingredients in Swolverine Pre-Workout are generally recognized as safe and pose few side effects.

There are still possible side effects though such as:

  • Itchiness
  • Bloating, upset stomach, other digestive symptoms
  • Increased anxiety or jitters (from eleuthero)
  • Headache

Swolverine Pre is made in the USA in a GMP-certified, FDA-approved facility. It is vegan, gluten-free, soy-free, and non-GMO. Plus, all Swolverine products are third-party tested for purity, potency, and safety.
