When it comes to choosing the right supplement, having a doctor-formulated formula can never hurt. Divine Health is a supplement company that keeps that in mind, since their creator is Dr. Don Colbert. Dr. Colbert is a medical doctor and author with over 40-best-sellers on health and nutrition to his name. Being board certified in anti-aging medicine for over 20-years, he focuses his practice on anti-aging and integrative medicine.
This has led him to develop Keto-friendly products that naturally energize you and reduce the damages of oxidative stress. That’s in addition to the organic, plant-based nutrition many of them provide, including Organic Red Supremefood, which is what we’re here to take a look at.
So, does this powder measure up to the task? Does it use the right ingredients in the right dosages? And is it truly worth the price? We’ll discuss that and more in this complete Organic Red Supremefood review. Let’s dive right in!
About Organic Red Supremefood
Organic Red Supremefood combines organic, antioxidant-rich fruits, digestive enzymes, probiotics, and fiber in a natural berry-flavored supplement. It’s convenient, pleasant-tasting, and contains around 4-servings per scoop of fruits along with digestive aids, making it ideal for those too busy to sit down to a salad or fruit.
It’s also a refreshingly simple formula that doesn’t go over the top with propriety ingredients, and instead, relies on what Mother Nature has to offer, which is ALWAYS better than what a lab generates.
Organic Red Supremefood Benefits
Organic Red Supremefood is designed to provide a plethora of benefits, including supporting digestive health, being rich in antioxidants, and more. We will take a closer look at the main benefits of Organic Red Supremefood below.
Multi-Colored, Antioxidant-Rich Fruit Blend
There’s a good reason to “eat the rainbow” when it comes to fruits and veggies, which is that each color has different antioxidant and phytonutrient benefits that all add up to great health.
But eating this way can be tough for those on the go with busy work schedules and not much in the way of fresh produce nearby. Remember too that fresh fruits and veggies go bad easily, and often need refrigeration to avoid expensive blobs of compost.
That’s why having a convenient, shelf-stable means of getting what your body needs—including a rainbow of antioxidant support and nutrients—is the way to go. It only contains 15-calories per scoop, which makes it a poor source of calories, though other than that, it’s a great product!
Supports Digestive Health and More
Fiber, probiotics, and the right enzymes all add up to one smoooth, comfortable, and fulfilling (un-filling?) experience each and every day (like clockwork!). This also means optimum nutritional uptake for better overall health, less risk of toxic accumulation, and wellness that extends to your mind.
Organic, Gluten-Free, Soy Free, and Non-GMO
Why purchase a healthy supplement that isn’t healthy from top-to-bottom? This means clean ingredients that are free of allergens and phytoestrogens—not to mention no Frankenfoods to possibly cause your children to be born with three eyes.
Probably not, but you never know…
Organic Red Supremefood Ingredients
Organic Red Supremefood’s ingredients include an Organic Fruit Blend, an Organic Digestive Blend, a PreProbiotic Blend, an Organic Botanical Blend, and an Enzyme blend. Below, we will take a closer look at each of these blends and what they provide.
Organic Fruit Blend (Apple, Beet, Raspberry, Acerola Cherry, Blueberry, Cranberry, Pomegranate, Pineapple, Acai) 3.2 g
Instead of eating the equivalent of Carmen Miranda’s hat each day, why not have a tasty, quenching drink that gives you the antioxidant support of 10-fruits (we’re guessing they’re counting the apple fruit extract as another fruit, since we only count 9 in the Organic Fruit Blend)?
This comes from both nutrients in fruits such as vitamin C, vitamin E, carotenoids, and phenolic compounds, as well as pigments such as anthocyanins in purple and blue fruits.
But no matter where they come from, having potent antioxidant support is essential in reducing the effects of stress, urban contaminants, and the kind of poor dietary habits that on-the-go-eating produces. That’s why having 9-or-however-many fruits right there convenient at your desk makes so much sense.
Organic Digestive Blend (Gum Acacia, Defatted Flax Seed) 1.3 g
It helps you feel fuller longer while working like a scrub brush to keep things moving along your digestive tract, which is why it’s too bad there’s not more of it in here. We’re also guessing that by containing only 1-gram of fiber despite a 1.3-gram fiber blend listed on the label means their Organic Fruit Blend is more of an Organic Fruit Juice blend than it is whole fruit, which is something we’d rather see.
That said, every bit counts, and by including both soluble and insoluble fiber, you get the bulking benefits of the former and the scrubbing benefits of the latter to keep you healthy and regular.
Pre/Probiotic Blend (Inulin, L. acidophilus, B. longum, L. casei, L. rhamnosus) 500 mg
Okay, just to further the fiber content confusion, Divine Health lists yet another fiber—inulin—as a “prebiotic,” which it also is. Regardless of how this affects the fiber content listed on the label, another benefit of fiber is that being prebiotic (or what probiotics feed on, in other words), you get healthier gut bacteria for even more digestive, immune, and detox benefits.
And the best way to do this is by adding populations of beneficial bacteria to chow down on the prebiotic smorgasbord. Curiously, Divine health lists the bacteria content and the prebiotic content as one single 500 mg dose rather than filling us in on how many colony-forming units (CFU) make up 500 mg.
Our guess is that most of that 500 mg is fiber, since bacteria really don’t weigh all that much… In that case, if you’re looking for something with more probiotics (or at least a red superfood that labels them clearly), there are options out there, such as Vital Reds with 3 billion CFU. Or, if you’re really just looking for that extra boost in probiotics, you can always consider adding a dedicated probiotic supplement to your routine, such as Seed Probiotics or Klean Probiotic.
Organic Botanical Blend (Green Tea Leaf Extract, Apple Fruit Extract) 140 mg
To add yet more antioxidant potency along with mind-soothing L-theanine and other benefits, Divine Health includes some green tea leaf extract and apple fruit extract to the mix.
These are excellent additions since green tea contains catechins that can reduce cellular damage and even delay muscle fatigue; and apple fruit extract contains quercetin for immune strength, improved exercise capacity, and antioxidant support.
Enzyme Blend (Protease, Amylase, Glucoamylase, Invertase, Lipase) 100 mg
When it comes to breaking down protein, sugar, carbohydrates, and fats, enzymes like protease, glucoamylase, amylase, and lipase, respectively, are what you need. In fact, protease works so well that it’s a common ingredient in meat tenderizers.
There’s also invertase, which along with being an immune-booster, antioxidant, and antiseptic, helps invert—or break down—sugars.
There are other benefits to these and other enzymes, but for now, we’ll just let you know that all this works out to healthy digestion and optimum nutritional uptake.
Does Organic Red Supremefood Work?
If you’re on the go and don’t have time or access to fresh fruits and vegetables–or even if you’re just lazy–Organic Red Supemefood can get you moving, inside and out.
That said, if you’ve got access to fresh produce, skip this stuff and get yourself some enzymes and probiotics and you’re even better off. Remember that drying, grinding, and other processing produces lower nutritional value in the finished product than in the fresh fruits it started as.
Plus, there’s nothing as tasty as the Real McCoy, though we do applaud Divine Health for not making things too overly sweet (it’s a little on the stevia-ey side), and they also use low-glycemic maltodextrin and stevia rather than sugar.
Mostly though, it’s a convenient way to stay healthy, which includes healthy digestion and nutrient uptake.
Who is Organic Red Supremefood Best For?
Everything in this product is either healthy food, beneficial enzymes, or gut bacteria that you’d have trouble living without, meaning this product is for nearly everyone. Sure, there may be some who are sensitive or allergic to any ingredient in it—anything’s possible—though it’s best to determine this before opening the product since only unopened product returns are allowed.
That said, anyone, including office workers, athletes, gym rats, dieters, students, and people too lazy to head down to the organic fruit stand, can all benefit from this product.
Claims vs. Reality
When you consume an adequate supply of antioxidant-rich fruits, soluble and insoluble fiber, probiotics, and enzymes, you get reduced inflammation, more energy, better digestion, a slimmer waistline, and the benefits go on.
No, this product isn’t made up of proprietary ingredients that have special magic powers to improve your health. Instead, it relies on what nature produces for the nutritional components you need for optimum health, which are organic fruits, fiber, enzymes, and probiotics.
Altogether this means that the claims made by Divine Health are reasonable and verifiable via science.
So there.
Is Organic Red Supremefood Safe?
As long as you don’t overuse this product, the only side effects will be positive—as in, clear skin, smooth digestion, and overall better energy and outlook.
Remember, though, that too much of a good thing can be detrimental. For instance, too much fiber can cause gas, bloating, and even constipation; and overconsumption of fruit can result in canker sores and other problems.
So, mind the recommended use of this product along with your other sources of fruit and fiber, and remember too that initial use of this product can produce detox symptoms such as headache and acne. If this happens, stay with it, and once your body “clears out” (shouldn’t be much longer than a day), your negative symptoms of detox will become positive symptoms of good health, and you’ll feel great.
Where to Buy Organic Red Supremefood
Organic Red Supremefood is a little on the expensive side, but they do offer some discounts. On their website, you can get 1 bottle of Organic Red Supremefood for $37.00, but if you subscribe to the monthly auto-ship option or choose to get more bottles you can save even more. At 1 bottle per month your cost is $28.99/each, 3 bottles per month brings the cost to $29.67/each, and 5 bottles per month will cost you $26.80/each.
But you do seem to get what you pay for since the product is organic enough to be labeled “organic,” through-and-through, though we’d still like to know what we’re getting so far as probiotics.
Along with Divine Health’s Amazon site, Organic Red Supremefood is widely available from both brick-and-mortar, as well as online retailers who sell health supplements. This includes The Vitamin Shoppe, LuckyVitamin.com, and of course, Walmart.
