Eating a balanced diet is no easy feat. Getting in 5-7 servings of fruits and vegetables can be challenging for most people. For this reason, many consumers would likely benefit from taking a daily multivitamin to supplement what they are missing in their diet. However, not everyone loves taking giant pills every morning thus liquid multivitamins, such as Mary Ruth’s Liquid Morning Multivitamin Essentials+ (also simply known as Mary Ruth’s Liquid Morning Multivitamin), have gained tremendous popularity.

Since there is a myriad of different multivitamins on the market and it can be tough to know which ones are worth the cost. Aside from being liquid, does this supplement provide anything that its competitors don’t? Let’s find out in this Mary Ruth’s Liquid Morning Multivitamin review!

About Mary Ruth’s Liquid Morning Multivitamin

MaryRuth Organics is a health and wellness supplement company that aims at providing its customers with not only high-quality supplements but also health education. Their products, such as this one and Hair Care Liposomal, are non-GMO, plant-based, and made with 100% vegan and low-allergen ingredients.

Mary Ruth's Liquid Morning Multivitamin Bottle

Mary Ruth’s Liquid Morning Multivitamin is a liquid multivitamin that is dairy-free, gluten-free, sugar-free, and family-friendly for ages 1+. Their products contain 100% of the Daily Value (DV) for many vitamins and minerals along with a proprietary fruit blend that contains apple, cranberry, blueberry, and elderberry for additional immune support.

Additionally, this product contains a whole-body maintenance and support blend that includes branched-chain amino acids and vitamin K2 as well as an immune support blend. It comes in fruit punch and strawberry flavor.

Mary Ruth’s Liquid Morning Multivitamin Benefits

According to their website, Mary Ruth’s Liquid Morning Multivitamin Essentials+ contains essential vitamins (including K2 and MK-7) and minerals along with a fruit blend that contains elderberry for additional immunity to support your body’s nutrient needs without struggling with hard-to-swallow pills.

Mary Ruth's Liquid Morning Multivitamin Benefits

MaryRuth Organics claims their liquid multivitamin is formulated to support your body’s metabolism, immune system, and overall health. They provide bioactive K2 (Menaquinone-7) which they state is beneficial for strong bones, helping calcium bind into the bone matrix. K2 also supports heart health by maintaining a healthy vascular system.

Additionally, this liquid multivitamin contains vitamin C, an important cofactor in the synthesis of collagen protein, and vitamin D3 for immune support and bone health. This supplement contains vitamin E, a common vitamin lacking in many multivitamin supplements, that also provides benefits for immune health.

Mary Ruth’s Liquid Morning Multivitamin Ingredients

Mary Ruth’s Liquid Morning Multivitamin contains a hearty dose of essential vitamins and minerals, as expected from a multivitamin. However, one of the things that set this supplement apart from others are its proprietary organic fruit blend, whole-body maintenance and support blend, and an immune support blend.

Mary Ruth's Liquid Morning Multivitamin Supplement Facts

Whole-Body Maintenance and Support Blend

Mary Ruth’s Whole-Body Maintenance and Support blend includes a branched-chain amino acid (BCAA) complex as well as vitamin K2 and trace minerals.

BCAAs can help to improve muscle growth and reduce muscle soreness in resistance training. Studies have also found these specific amino acids might help reduce exercise fatigue and prevent muscle loss.

Mary Ruth’s Liquid Morning Multivitamin also includes Vitamin K2 and MK-7. Vitamin K2 is a different form of vitamin K that is found in some animal and fermented foods. Studies have found vitamin K2 may be particularly helpful in boosting bone health compared to vitamin K (also known as K1). Additional studies found it may also help reduce the risk of heart disease.

Although promising, research has found that vitamin K2 has a poor conversion rate. This means it may be more beneficial to consume food sources of this nutrient than supplements if you enjoy higher-fat meat, dairy, and fermented foods. The benefits of this nutrient may be enhanced when taken with vitamin D.

MK-7 is one of the two forms of vitamin K2 typically found in supplements. MK-7 is the natural form (as opposed to synthetic K2) which comes from natto. This form doesn’t require as large of a dose to be effective.

Immune Support Blend

Mary Ruth’s Immune Support blend contains methylsulfonylmethane (MSM) and hesperidin 90%. MSM is a common compound used in alternative medicine. It can be found naturally in humans, plants, and animals but can also be made synthetically. Traditionally, MSM has been used to help treat joint pain as a result of degeneration. MSM can help slow cartilage breakdown and contains strong anti-inflammatory properties.

Like MSM, hesperidin contains robust anti-inflammatory properties along with a good source of antioxidants. Research notes it may be helpful in conditions such as diabetes and heart disease, along with cancer prevention.

Organic Fruit Blend

Lastly, Mary Ruth’s Liquid Morning Multivitamin contains a proprietary organic fruit blend that includes apple, cranberry, blueberry, and elderberry. These fruits contain rich antioxidant profiles along with vitamins and minerals that may help support immune health.

Specifically, elderberry has been recommended for treating common cold and flu symptoms. Although there are many purported health benefits for taking elderberry supplements, including reducing cholesterol levels and inflammation as well as reducing heart disease, cancer, and diabetes risk, the National Center for Complimentary and Integrative Health reports there is not currently enough evidence to support the use of elderberry for treating cold and flu symptoms.

Does Mary Ruth’s Liquid Morning Multivitamin Work?

Mary Ruth’s Liquid Morning Multivitamin Essentials+ contains a variety of vitamins and minerals that can be beneficial for helping fill in nutritional gaps. Therefore, as a multivitamin, it meets the basic requirements to be a helpful supplement.

However, regarding the additional benefits claimed for this product, the research may be lacking a little. Although there are some smaller studies to support some of the claims, many require further research using large-scale human trials.

Additionally, because MaryRuth Organics uses a proprietary fruit blend in its formula, the exact dosage of these ingredients is unknown. Even if research was strong on its claims for the benefits of these ingredients, it’s difficult to say if this product would contain the right dosage to be effective.

How Does Mary Ruth’s Liquid Morning Multivitamin Compare?

When comparing Mary Ruth’s Liquid Morning Multivitamin to similar brands, one thing stood out. There are not a lot of brands available that offer a liquid multivitamin supplement that can be used for both adults and children aged 1+. Many of these supplements also do not contain additional ingredients such as BCAAs.

The closest brands that can be used for comparison include Go Healthy liquid multivitamin for kids and Eniva Health VIBE fruit and veggie superfood liquid multi. Both products provide a wide range of vitamins and mineral coverage per serving. Both Mary Ruth’s and Go Health are vegan-friendly while VIBE is vegetarian-friendly.

Mary Ruth’s contains a higher price tag, at $44.95 for a 32-serving container compared to $32.99 for Go Health and 39.96 for VIBE. While Mary Ruth’s contains a proprietary fruit blend, along with vitamin K2, BCAAs, and more, Go Health provides 20 fruits and vegetables along with probiotics. VIBE contains 30+ fruits, veggies, and superfoods along with multiple proprietary blends that provide immune support (also utilizing elderberry), a collagen-boosting blend, and an antioxidant blend.

Although Mary Ruth’s is pricier, the versatility of this product along with its low-allergen, vegan-friendly nutrition profile helps it stand out above the rest. Although it does use a proprietary blend, it utilizes this for its organic fruit blend only, unlike those of VIBE which contains multiple proprietary blends with a large ingredient profile. You know more of what you are getting from Mary Ruth’s. It even contains a stronger dose of folate compared to Go Health for Kids, which is essential for growing children.

Who is Mary Ruth’s Liquid Morning Multivitamin Best For?

This product is best for someone who wants to get additional nutritional coverage in their diet without having to take large pills or capsules. MaryRuth Organics aims to choose low-allergen ingredients in their products which makes this multivitamin a great option for those who suffer from food allergies.

Individuals who are taking any medications should consult their doctor before taking this supplement. Additionally, although it is marketed as being safe for children ages 1+, it’s recommended to speak with your child’s pediatrician before adding this, or any dietary supplement, to their regimen.
