omega q plus max review

Heart disease is the leading cause of death in America. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), one person dies from heart disease every 30 seconds.

Now considered a global pandemic, there’s been a sharp uptick in strategies to help treat and prevent various types of cardiovascular disease, including adjustments in diet and exercise along with increasing the use of heart-healthy supplements, such as Dr. Stephen Sinatra’s Omega Q Plus Max.

Although the research is firm when it comes to diet and exercise as a treatment and preventative for heart disease, supplements are not as clear-cut. So, does Omega Q Plus Max measure up to all its claims?

In this Omega Q Plus Max review, we’ll discuss everything you need to know about this supplement to find out if it’s truly worth the purchase.

About Omega Q Plus Max

Dr. Stephen Sinatra is an experienced Cardiologist. Following 40 years of experience in clinical practice, he decided to formulate an advanced line of heart health supplements, including Omega Q Plus Max to help individuals better support the health of their heart.

Omega Q Plus Max

Omega Q Plus Max is a comprehensive all-in-one supplement for advanced cardiovascular support. It includes various ingredients believed to help benefit and support the health of your heart, including DHA, turmeric, resveratrol, chromium, and CoQ10 along with antioxidants and B vitamins.

Omega Q Plus Max Benefits

Omega Q Plus Max claims to provide a wide range of benefits for heart health including healthy aging, improved blood flow, advanced cellular support, anti-inflammatory benefits, antioxidant support, improved glycemic control, and additional support for statin users with ingredients such as CoQ10.

Omega Q Plus Max Benefits

Omega Q Plus Max Ingredients

The main ingredients in Omega Q Plus Max include DHA from CalaMarine omega-3 oil, HydroCurc turmeric, trans-resveratrol, Crominex 3+ chromium, and Hydro Q-Sorb CoQ10. The ingredients in Omega Q Plus Max are triple-tested, certified GMP, formulated in the United States, and utilize sustainable omega-3 sources.

Omega Q Plus Max Supplement Facts

CalaMarine Omega-3 Oil

CalaMarine is an omega-3 DHA oil that is derived from deep-water squid (calamari). It contains both docosahexaenoic acid DHA and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), types of omega-3 fatty acids that research has shown may help to decrease triglyceride levels, decrease blood pressure, and increase HDL (good) cholesterol levels.

Although there is not currently an established recommendation for doses of EPA or DHA, most research supports intakes of 0.5-1.8 grams per day from diet and/or supplements to reduce cardiovascular disease risk.

HydroCurc Tumeric

HydroCurc turmeric is a brand of concentrated curcumin, the active ingredient in turmeric, made into a highly absorbable, bioavailable form. Curcumin has been associated with providing robust anti-inflammatory and antioxidant benefits that may help to reduce the incidence of cardiovascular disease. Additionally, some studies suggest curcumin may help reduce cholesterol levels, however further research is still needed on this.

Trans-Resveratrol

Resveratrol is a polyphenol found in many plants including grapes, peanuts, and red wine. Studies have found that resveratrol contains a rich antioxidant profile along with providing anti-inflammatory and cardio-protective benefits.

Research has shown that resveratrol might help to reduce the risk of heart disease by helping to reduce inflammation, decrease LDL (bad) cholesterol levels, and prevent blood clots. Although much of the research on resveratrol for heart health is promising, other studies have found no benefits for the prevention of heart disease.

Crominex 3+ Chromium

Crominex 3+ Chromium is a chromium supplement that is easier for the body to absorb. It is blended with Amla fruit extract and purified Shilajit. Chromium is an essential nutrient that is believed to offer many benefits for heart health. In fact, low chromium levels may be associated with a greater risk of a heart attack.

According to a 12-week placebo-controlled study, participants who were given Crominex 3+ versus the placebo showed significant improvements in biomarkers for heart health such as increased HDL (good) cholesterol, decreased LDL (bad) cholesterol, and decreased triglyceride levels.

Crominex 3+ is also believed to help increase nitric oxide levels, improve endothelial function, and improve blood sugar levels. However, this study was only conducted on 60 participants. Other studies utilizing larger sample sizes are not available.

Hydro Q-Sorb CoQ10

Hydro Q-Sorb CoQ10 is a bio-enhanced co-enzyme Q10 for increased absorption. According to the manufacturer, Hydro Q-Sorb CoQ10 absorbs up to 8x faster than traditional CoQ10 supplements.

CoQ10 is an essential compound for generating energy in our cells. Our body can make CoQ10 on its own however, your levels will decrease with age as well as with some conditions, such as heart disease as well as those who take certain cholesterol-lowering medications such as statins.

CoQ10 acts as an antioxidant and some studies have found that CoQ10 may help to treat conditions such as heart failure. You can obtain CoQ10 from foods such as meat, fish, and nuts however, the amounts are not likely enough to contribute to an increase in overall CoQ10 levels, and therefore dietary supplements, such as this one, are available.

Does Omega Q Plus Max Work?

Based on the ingredients provided in Omega Q Plus Max, along with the subsequent research available, Omega Q Plus Max likely works as claimed however, as with any supplement, individual results will vary. The ingredients in this supplement have a fair amount of research to back up their purported benefits however, it is important to note that studies showing the effects of combination supplements such as this one are low to non-existent.

Therefore, it’s difficult to say how these ingredients may interact with each other as well as with certain medications. Always speak to your doctor or healthcare provider before adding a supplement such as this one to your routine.

Who is Omega Q Plus Max Best For?

This supplement would work best for healthy, older adults, especially those who are taking statin medications for blood pressure or who have a strong family history of heart disease.

Those who are pregnant, have bleeding disorders, or are taking blood thinners, and those who have high HDL cholesterol levels should avoid taking this supplement. Individuals with a history of kidney or liver disease or a history of diabetes should speak to their healthcare provider before taking Omega Q Plus Max.

Claims vs. Reality

Omega Q Plus Max claims to provide a wide range of benefits for heart health such as healthy aging, improved blood flow, advanced cellular support, anti-inflammatory/antioxidant benefits, glycemic control, and additional support for statin users. Current available research does support these claims however, some studies were conducted using small sample sizes and further research is warranted.

With that said, this supplement is considered safe and has a low risk of side effects when taken as directed. Those who are taking statin medications or who may be older and have decreased levels of CoQ10 might experience a benefit in lab values when taking this medication.

According to consumer reviews, this product helped many to increase their energy levels and improve their blood lipid panels when combined with a healthy diet and exercise routine. The main complaint with this supplement is the high cost, which comes in at $2.13 per 2-soft gel serving.
