ketone iq review

The word “keto” has been soaring in popularity these days, with people talking about ketogenic diets, ketosis, and so on. Ultimately, proponents of the keto lifestyle say that it’s more efficient to run on ketones rather than sugar for energy, which in turn can lead to many other supposed benefits.

Due to this increasing popularity, keto supplements are also on the rise. One such supplement is Ketone-IQ. This keto drink is designed to offer a wide array of health benefits. So, the question is, does it hold up to all the claims?

In this Ketone-IQ review, we’ll take a thorough look at this supplement drink. From its ingredients to its benefits and more, you’ll learn everything you need to know to make your final decision. Is Ketone-IQ worth buying? Let’s find out!

About Ketone-IQ

Ketone-IQ is made by Health via Modern Nutrient (HVMN). You may be familiar with this company as they have produced a wide variety of popular supplements in addition to Ketone-IQ. Their product line is extensive and includes options such as HVMN Rise, HVMN Sprint, HVMN Keto Collagen+, HVMN Yawn, HVMN Kado, and HVMN Nootrobox.

Ketone-IQ is a drinkable exogenous ketone supplement designed to give the brain and body a clean source of natural energy. It is free of caffeine and sugar, and it relies on ketones rather than those other substances to fuel optimal mental and physical performance. Plus, they say that this specific form of ketones is able to last for a longer time in the body, leading to enhanced benefits.

Ketone-IQ Benefits

HVMN claims that Ketone-IQ will offer a wide array of physical and mental benefits, which include:

  • Sustained Energy
  • Mental Clarity
  • Better Endurance and Recovery
  • Weight Management and Metabolic Health
  • Longevity

Sustained Energy and Mental Clarity

Ketone-IQ is designed to keep blood ketone levels elevated for hours, which in turn is supposed to give you long-lasting, steady-state energy without a crash. Additionally, this steady-state energy is supposed to enhance mental clarity, focus, and other cognitive functions.

Better Endurance and Recovery

Glucose is the common fuel used by athletes, but Ketone-IQ says that switching over to ketones can provide a high level of endurance and a boost in overall exercise performance. Furthermore, Ketone-IQ is designed to help you recover better and get more out of your workouts.

Weight Management and Metabolic Health

With reliance on ketones for energy, Ketone-IQ is designed to improve metabolic health by limiting (or even eliminating) insulin spikes that can occur with carbohydrate consumption. They claim that running on ketones is better for one’s metabolism and can help you lose weight more easily.

Longevity

Finally, a bold claim made is that the ketones in Ketone-IQ will improve longevity, possibly due to its effects on blood sugar, metabolism, and their effects on overall health.

But are these benefits legit? Or is it just another overhyped keto product within the current societal ketogenic craze? Let’s take a look!

Ketone-IQ Ingredients

Ketone-IQ has one active ingredient: ketones. Specifically, each serving (35mL) contains 10g of a ketone called R-1,3-Butanediol.

hvmn ketone iq r 1,3 butanediol

R-1,3-Butanediol: A Ketone Alcohol

R-1,3-Butanediol (R13B) is a ketone alcohol, which is a compound produced naturally in the body by the liver during periods of very low glucose. Essentially, the body turns over to using ketones for fuel instead of glucose. Of course, ketone supplementation now exists with people able to take exogenous ketones with supplements like this and others such as Perfect Keto Exogenous Ketones and Kiss My Keto Exogenous Ketones, thereby entering this state without necessarily changing diet or lifestyle.

This specific form of ketones is able to rapidly enter the body and generate a state of nutritional ketosis similar to what occurs when fasting or on a low-carb diet. Therefore, R13B is supposed to be able to provide steady-state energy and benefit a variety of aspects of physical and mental health.

However, research shows that ketone supplementation has no significant benefit for exercise, whether it’s short sprints or endurance exercise lasting up to 50 minutes or so. There are some studies that show improved endurance exercise performance, but many others that show no effect or a negative effect.

There may be some benefits for ketone supplementation on cognition, as research shows ketones may be able to improve blood flow to the brain. And supplementation may also reduce the risk for Alzheimer’s disease and cognitive impairment, although more research is needed.

Essentially, ketones can act as an energy substrate which may help in mild cognitive impairment and Alzheimers, as well as other neurodegenerative diseases since those are often characterized by energy/metabolic issues. Ketones can provide the brain with a steady form of energy, but then again, so do complex carbohydrates.

Also, some research shows that exogenous ketone supplementation can decrease hunger and increase satiety, which may lead to more weight loss, but there needs to be a lot more research to fully highlight the effects of ketone supplementation in weight management.

Does Ketone-IQ Work?

It is unlikely that Ketone-IQ will offer any major benefits, although there are some potential positives. Some research shows that ketone supplementation can improve exercise performance, cognitive function, and reduce the risk for neurodegeneration, but there needs to be a lot more research.

For some people, ketone supplementation may very well work effectively, but it can’t be stated right now that it will work for everyone.

For the people that it may work for, then, it’s important to look at the dosage. And in this regard, 10g is a solid amount backed by the research studies that do show positive results.

Claims vs. Reality

Ketone-IQ may offer some benefits, but not quite to the degree advertised by HVMN. It may help with energy levels and cognitive functioning, but it also could very well do nothing in these areas. Ultimately, it depends on the individual.

The same is true for exercise. There is conflicting research, although the type of exercise that has the best chance at benefiting from ketone supplementation is endurance exercise. High-intensity exercise just relies too much on glucose for this product to offer any real benefit.

In regard to weight loss, this product may help, but keep in mind what you’re taking. You’re not actually burning fat when you take this product because you’re using exogenous ketones for energy. So, unless you’re restricting calories, you still won’t lose weight. With that being said, it may indirectly help fat loss by decreasing hunger and increasing feelings of fullness.

Lastly, Ketone-IQ is unlikely to offer any real benefits for longevity, although it shows some promise for preserving brain health, especially in people at risk of Alzheimer’s and other neurodegenerative diseases.

Who is Ketone-IQ Best For?

Based on the research, there is the most evidence for ketone supplementation in cognitive impairment and neurodegeneration, so this product is likely best for people with risk factors in those areas.

It also may be a solid option for endurance athletes, at least as a “trial-and-error” protocol. I think for some endurance athletes, it’s worth trying. You may get nothing out of it, but it’s at least worth looking into.

Sprinters, heavy weight-lifters, and so forth? Not so much.

Ketone-IQ For Athletes

Lastly, while this isn’t directly supported by research, individuals that engage in an extremely high-stress, demanding lifestyle may want to consider supplementing with Ketone-IQ since they need all the energy help they can get. You can take Ketone-IQ with meals, so if you’re someone that eats a very healthy, energy-loaded diet, yet you still find yourself fatigued or drained, you may want to look into this product. This is because it can help support energy levels by minimizing the need to constantly run on glucose and by offering an additional source of energy.

Is Ketone-IQ Safe?

Ketone-IQ appears to be very safe and poses little concern for side effects, although here are some possible ones:

  • Nausea, stomach upset, bloating, and other related issues
  • Headaches
  • Low blood sugar
