Grown American Superfood is an organic blend of fruits, vegetables, and plants that boosts your body and supports overall health. It is a green superfood supplement with natural ingredients sourced from local farms.

“Superfood” has been a popular buzzword in nutritional supplement circles. Foods like blueberries, avocados, quinoa, acai berries, and spinach have all received the moniker superfood as they are said to contain above-average concentrations of healthy nutrients.

A few things here, though. “Superfood” is not a nutritional category or term; it is a marketing term. Virtually no respected nutritionist would tell you that so-called superfoods are some special food category separate from regular foods.

That does not mean, however, that the foods commonly marketed as superfoods are not, in fact, very healthy for you. Quite the contrary, things like spinach, blueberries, and avocados are good for you, all other things being equal, and they contain higher-than-average amounts of nutrients.

As such, many people have hopped onto the trend of trying to include more superfoods in their diet. With this growing trend comes various superfood products, such as Green Vibrance, BoKU, Opti-Greens 50, and many more.

With so many choices of superfoods, it can take time to figure out which is right for you.

Today, our Grown American Superfood Review talks about this popular supplement and helps you get some facts straight, like; What is Grown American? How does it work? Is it legit or not? Can it replace my meals?

Who Makes Grown American Superfood?

Grown-American-SuperFood-Supplement-logo

Grown American Superfood is made by Grown American, a nutritional supplement company based out of Pueblo, CO. Grown American prides itself on obtaining all its ingredients from local growers.

One of the leading providers of agricultural products used to make their superfood blend is Van Drunen farms, a family-owned farm that is one of the largest growers, manufacturers, and suppliers of low-moisture and frozen specialty products.

We should mention that some people have complained about Grown American and their billing practices, precisely their “free trial” sales pitch. Customers have complained that they were charged even though their supposedly “free” trial had not ended yet.

If this is a problem, you can buy the product from Amazon without worrying about their website billing setup.

What Ingredients Are In Grown American Superfood?

Grown American Superfood has over 30 different ingredients that can be divided into 4 major superfood blends.

  • Super greens
  • Superfruits
  • Organic Vegetables
  • Super sprouts

The super greens included are kale, wheatgrass, barley grass, and alfalfa grass, amongst others. These are some of the best-quality leafy greens, each containing a high concentration of polyphenols, iron, and calcium.

The superfruit blend contains blueberry, strawberry, cranberry, orange, cherry, lemons, pears, and apples. This blend gives the product its overall berry taste and contains beneficial antioxidants. Cranberries, in particular, can help manage blood pressure, and strawberries, oranges, and lemons have high quantities of vitamin C.

Vegetables included in the blend are broccoli, celery, Brussels sprouts, carrots, bell peppers, and pumpkin (yep, that’s right, pumpkin is actually a vegetable). These vegetables are an excellent source of vitamin K, omega-3 fatty acids (pumpkin seeds), and potassium. Brussels sprouts are known to help the skin as well.

Lastly are the super sprouts. This blend has amaranth, quinoa, buckwheat, beans, lentils, and flax. These sprouts are a good source of protein, fiber, vitamin B, zinc, and potassium.

How Does American Grown Superfood Work?

It’s hard to describe precisely how the product works because it contains many ingredients and different nutrients.

In a nutshell, these ingredients provide vitamin C, Calcium, Potassium, and Iron, some of the most essential nutrients in the body that maintain energy levels and bone and skin health. They also supply omega-3 fatty acids that are good for brain health.

Many of the included ingredients have some protein content that is needed for the maintenance of bodily structures.

However, compared to other superfood blends, it has lower amounts of fiber, probiotics, and enzymes, which are three things that many superfood blends try to include.

Is Grown American Superfood a Meal Replacement?

No, Grown American Superfood does not replace a healthy meal and should only be used to supplement your regular diet.

Grown American Superfood Taste

Grown American’s manufacturer claims it does not have a “green” taste but an apple juice-like flavor.

Safety and Side Effects

All ingredients in Grown American Superfood are organic, natural, and safe for consumption. It’s basically a huge blend of plants and fruits, so nothing in there is cause for worry.

Like many of these nutritional supplement blends, taking it with food and not on an empty stomach is recommended. You might experience digestive discomfort when you first start taking it, especially if you are not used to eating fruits and vegetables regularly.

Where to Buy Grown American Superfood

American Grown Superfood can be bought directly from its website or from several online retailers. Many customers have complained about their scammy billing practices on the website, so you might want to try and find it from third-party vendors.

Grown American Superfood Serving Size & Cost

Each serving of Grown American Superfood is 9 grams. A single 28-scoop pack costs $49.95 with a subscription, bringing the cost per serving to $1.78.

Grown American Superfood Reviews

Grown American Superfood has mixed reviews. Many customers are dissatisfied with the quantity of product they get for the price, as other products can offer you twice the nutrients at a similar cost.

Grown American Superfood: Is It Worth It?

Grown American Superfoods is a good superfood blend option out there. Like pretty much every nutritional supplement out there, there needs to be more clinical data regarding its efficacy. Still, the ingredients are good and individually known to be beneficial.

However, we think that it doesn’t offer as much as its competitors when it comes to its nutrient profile, as you would need to take more than one 9-gram serving daily to get a good dose of nutrients. This makes it way too expensive.

Overall, you can try Grown American Superfood if you choose, but better options are available.
