It Takes Dedication
Vergara doesn’t love to sweat it up, but she does it anyway. She hits the gym at least 3 times a week anyway.
Vergara works with celebrity trainer Gunnar Peterson who says he has her do compound movements to make the routine more time-efficient.
To maintain her hourglass figure, Vergara’s routines focus on variations of squats to keep her butt lifted combined with shoulder work to accentuate her waistline.
Vergara does circuits that work her whole body. The compound moves work all the major joints in the body, hips, knees, shoulders and elbows, saving time while still hitting all the important places.
Vergara isn’t looking to bulk up and so she sticks with lighter weights, 5-10 lbs. in most cases.
Vergara will do a half hour or so of high-intensity interval training following her weight circuit.

Vergara adds a spoonful of collagen to her nightly cup of cham-omile tea. Collagen helps keep joints strong, and supports healthy skin, hair and nails.
When Vergara is home alone, she slathers herself in coconut oil and snuggles up in a ceramic wrap. Coconut oil is a superfood that does your body good inside and out. Its MCTs (medium chain triglycerides) contribute to heart health, increase fat-burning, reduce hunger and kill bad bacteria.
When she was still in her 20s, Vergara had her thyroid removed after doctors found a tumor on it. Vergara had her thyroid removed in 2002. She considers herself lucky the doctors found it early, and she also wants people to know it is possible to lead a normal life with hypothyroidism.
Vergara says the scar left by the thyroid surgery doesn’t bother her. The South American beauty also has rosacea, which she treats by being gentle with her skin. She used to use scrubs and masks, but now follows a very simple beauty routine.
Vergara loves everything about the island of Capri, from the food to the people to the language, and says she never gets tired of going there.
In 1998, Vergara’s older brother was murdered during an attempted kidnapping. Vergara left Columbia and came to the US in part due to the civil unrest.
