Dr. Berg's Hair Formula Benefits

Addresses The Root Problem Of Hair Loss

Many men and women experience hair loss that stems from nutritional deficiencies, which can be traced back to poor nutrient intake. This product is intended to work starting on the inside, to supplement your diet and to support the processes that contribute to healthy hair, skin, and nails.

Dr. Berg’s Hair Formula Ingredients

Dr. Berg’s Hair Formula includes 8 main ingredients. Let’s take a closer look at each ingredient below.

Dr. Berg's Hair Formula Ingredients

Vitamin C (15 mg)

Vitamin C is an essential vitamin that works as an antioxidant in the body. Your skin naturally contains high levels of vitamin C, which helps to stimulate collagen production and protect the skin against sun damage, signs of aging such as wrinkle formation, and sagging skin. Supplementation of Vitamin C is thought to increase these effects; however, it may only be effective if you are deficient in Vitamin C prior to supplementing it.

Biotin (1000 mcg)

Biotin, or B-7, is an essential vitamin that plays many important roles in the body, including improves the structure of your body’s keratin, which is the protein that makes your hair, skin, and nails. A side effect of biotin deficiency is hair loss, but having a deficiency is very uncommon as most people get adequate biotin from their diet. There is limited research to support the idea that biotin supplementation reduces hair loss, but it has been widely reported that people see improvements in hair and nail strength when taking biotin.

Hydrolyzed Fish Collagen (Type 1 & 3) (700 mg)

Collagen is the most common protein found in the body and is a major structural component of skin, muscles, and bones. It also acts as an antioxidant in the body and can prevent damage to hair and skin from free radicals. Collagen production decreases as you age, which results in wrinkled, sagging skin void of elasticity. Taking supplemental collagen may improve the appearance of skin, and studies in humans have shown that collagen supplements may improve skin hydration, texture, and elasticity. It is also thought that collagen can reduce the thinning of hair, but more research is needed to support this idea. The collagen in this formulation is derived from fish skin.

Acerola Cherry Extract (50mg)

Acerola cherry is a tropical plant that is very high in vitamin C and antioxidant content. It has long been taken as an herbal medicine to treat digestive issues and improve immunity; It is now known that the vitamin C concentration of acerola cherry is 50 – 100 x higher than orange. While the research on acerola cherries is sparse, the high vitamin C content makes this fruit a great natural supplement.

Nutritional Yeast (94 mg)

Nutritional yeast is a single strain of yeast called Saccharomyces cerevisiae. It is nonliving and is a good vegan source of protein, B vitamins, and trace minerals. B-vitamins are thought to reduce signs of aging in the skin by aiding in collagen production and cell turnover. Nutritional yeast also contains antioxidants like glutathione and selenomethionine, which helps prevent cell damage caused by free radicals.  However, the amount of nutritional yeast in this product is minuscule and likely ineffective.

ConcenTrace AC (50 mg)

ConcenTrac AC is a heavily concentrated mineral supplement developed by Trace Minerals Research, that claims to contain 72 trace minerals. Due to the soil being depleted of nutrients over time, produce and meat have less and less nutrient density. ConcenTrac AC is intended to supplement bioavailable trace minerals that are sparse in an otherwise complete diet. This is said to help balance the body’s pH, and allow the body to work optimally. ConcenTrac AC has not been proven to be effective, but it is generally recognized as safe to take.

Horsetail Powder (50 mg)

Horsetail powder is derived from the horsetail plant that contains antioxidants and silica. Silica is a natural compound made of silicon and oxygen that may contribute to healthy hair quality, reduce hair shedding, and improve nail health by enhancing collagen production. Silica may also improve the appearance of skin, due to its ability to increase oxygen content in cells. A study that included supplementation of a product containing Horsetail powder as the main ingredient found a reduction in hair loss in women after 3 months. While the research on this horsetail powder is limited, there is science to show the mechanism behind it may improve hair and nail health.

Stinging Nettle (50 mg)

Stinging nettle is a plant that is often used as an herbal remedy to hair loss. It contains large amounts of silica, sulfur, antioxidants, and also has anti-inflammatory properties. While there is no concrete evidence to support the theory that stinging nettle cures hair loss, it has been shown to inhibit DHT production, which is a hormone that can contribute to hair loss.

Does Dr. Berg’s Hair Formula Work?

There is no research to support the efficacy for Dr. Berg’s Hair Formula specifically; however, there is science to support the fact that many of the ingredients within the formulation should reap some benefits. This product is high in antioxidants, vitamins & minerals, silica, and collagen, so you should see an improvement in the quality and strength of your hair, nails, and appearance of the skin. While it may not cure hair that is thinning as a result of aging, it is possible some individuals may see some hair regrowth when supplementing this product long term.

Who Is Dr. Berg’s Hair Formula Best For?

This product is intended for both men and women who want a natural supplement to treat their hair loss, and to improve the appearance and health of their hair, skin, and nails.
