About Rasa

The original Rasa formula is a coffee alternative that contains 13 herbs and adaptogens, all designed to provide calm, steady energy that lasts all day.

Just a few of the ingredients in Rasa are chicory, burdock, maca, ashwagandha, and chaga mushroom, all of which are organic.

MUD WTR vs. Rasa: Supplement Formulation

The formulations for MUD WTR and Rasa are pretty similar, although there are several key differences too.

Main Ingredients

Both formulations contain a mixture of medicinal mushrooms and other herbal ingredients. They each have chaga mushroom, reishi mushroom, and cinnamon. Not to mention that both supplements contain all-organic ingredients.

MUD WTR has more mushrooms compared to Rasa (four versus two), whereas Rasa has a higher number of other herbal ingredients (11 compared to eight).

Also, Rasa has more ingredients, more specifically adaptogens, especially ashwagandha, rhodiola, eleuthero, and maca, whereas some of these “classic adaptogens” aren’t found in MUD WTR.

That said, MUD WTR has two mushrooms not included in Rasa (cordyceps and lion’s mane). And it also has many herbs not seen in Rasa, such as turmeric, ginger, and cardamom.

Another key comparison is the caffeine content. In the original versions, MUD WTR has 35mg of caffeine (which comes from black tea and cacao), whereas Rasa is completely free of caffeine.

It should also be noted that both of these companies offer other varieties, which differ in terms of the herbs, caffeine content, and other aspects. So, if you want to look more at these options, you can check them out on the MUD WTR and Rasa websites.

In Sum

Overall, one formulation isn’t necessarily superior to the other. They’re both well-formulated with quality ingredients and geared towards individuals looking for a natural energy boost from mushrooms and herbs.

MUD WTR vs. Rasa: Benefits

Due to their formulations, MUD WTR and Rasa share a number of potential benefits, yet there are also a few benefits likely unique to each product.

Here are the main possible benefits shared by both MUD WTR and Rasa:

  • Increased Energy
  • Immune Support
  • Enhanced Focus & Cognition
  • Brain Support

These are all due to the combination of medicinal mushrooms, herbs, and in the case of MUD WTR, a small amount of natural caffeine.

Now, let’s look at some of the unique benefits of each product:

  • Improved Digestion
  • Antioxidant and Anti-Inflammatory Effects

These stem mainly from including turmeric, ginger, cardamom, and other key herbs and spices.

  • Adaptogenic Effects
  • Stress Management

These unique effects are attributed to rhodiola, ashwagandha, maca, and other adaptogens, which aren’t in MUD WTR.

Also, keep in mind that, even for the unique benefits, these are still possible to occur in each product. It’s just that, based on the formulation, these benefits are MORE of a focus in each respective product.

Customer Feedback & Reviews

MUD WTR and Rasa are both highly loved by their consumers. However, MUD WTR has amassed many more reviews compared to Rasa.

On their respective company websites, MUD WTR is rated 4.5 out of 5, based on a massive 45,000+ reviews, and Rasa is rated 4.7 out of 5 based on over 2,500 reviews.

More on MUD WTR

The MUD WTR customers frequently noted increased energy levels and mental clarity, and many also enjoyed the flavor.

However, it wasn’t for everyone. Some people said they didn’t experience many (or any) benefits, and some didn’t enjoy the flavor. Some people also reported side effects such as digestive issues, but these weren’t common.

Rasa Ratings

Rasa buyers overall enjoyed the taste and said it had an earthy, nutty flavor. That’s not for everyone, though, and some people didn’t like the flavor. In terms of benefits, Rasa users commonly stated increased energy and focus, greater calmness, and less stress.

However, like MUD WTR, some users didn’t get any of these effects. And there were some reports of side effects, such as headache, dizziness, and irritability, but these weren’t all too often.

MUD WTR vs. Rasa: Other Considerations

Some other considerations can determine whether MUD WTR or Rasa is best, including taste/flavor, overall quality and safety, ease of use, and benefit preferences.

Regarding taste and flavor, MUD WTR is likely to be a bit more palatable in its natural state due to ingredients such as cinnamon and cardamom.

However, Rasa isn’t necessarily a bad flavor on its own; it just might be a bit more earthy. And of course, you can add cream or other ingredients to both of these too to enhance the flavor.

Quality & Safety

Next, there are a few important aspects related to quality and safety. Both supplements are certified USDA Organic and Whole 30 Approved.

Also, while both products are advertised as gluten-free and vegan, MUD WTR is the only one with official certifications for those claims. This doesn’t mean that Rasa isn’t vegan or gluten-free, but it just adds more credibility with an official certification.

Concerning quality, MUD WTR and Rasa are both third-party tested to ensure their products are free from heavy metals and other contaminants, while also being pure and properly dosed.

Ease of Use

Both products come in powdered form and are generally easy to use. MUD WTR should be mixed with hot water and then mixed with a frother, blender, or even just a spoon.

To make Rasa, it should be brewed, either by using a French press, espresso machine, aeropress, Keurig (with reusable K cups), moka pot, percolator, rasa brew bottle, or tea infuser. Rasa does require a bit more time to prepare compared to MUD WTR, although it’s not really difficult either.

Benefit Preferences

Both products are designed to enhance energy, mental clarity, and overall health. That said, MUD WTR also seems to have a bit more benefits for digestion and inflammation control, whereas Rasa is likely better for stress management and adaptogenic effects.

So, it depends on what specific benefits you’re looking for in your coffee alternative.

MUD WTR vs. Rasa: Value

The final important comparison between MUD WTR and Rasa is their overall value. The regular 30-serving price for MUD WTR is $60, whereas it’s considerably lower at $29.99 for Rasa.

There are also subscription savings for both products, in which MUD WTR goes down to $29 and Rasa goes down to $23.99.

Rasa Pricing

Both MUD WTR and Rasa can also be bought in bulk sizes for additional savings. For MUD WTR, you can buy 90 servings for $125 or $100 with a subscription, and for Rasa, you can buy 120 servings for $108 or $86.40 with a subscription.

So, MUD WTR costs anywhere from $.97 to $2 per serving, while Rasa is priced from $0.72 to $1 per serving.

Given that Rasa is considerably less pricey while still having a pretty similar formulation, it appears to be a better value for most.

MUD WTR vs. Rasa: Which Supplement is Better?

If you were looking for a definitive number one, we’re sorry to say we don’t have one! That’s because it truly does depend on your goals, preferences, and intended benefits.

So, what supplement is better for you? MUD WTR or Rasa?

Well, if you’re looking for a totally caffeine-free option with a bit more adaptogenic and stress-reducing effects, go with Rasa.

Whereas, if you’re okay with a little bit of caffeine and also want to improve digestion and reduce inflammation, MUD WTR is your best bet.

But what if you’re indifferent to caffeine content AND to those unique benefits? And you’re just looking for a general coffee alternative?

Well, we’d say more often than not to go with Rasa, simply because it’s quite a bit more affordable while still being very high-quality and well-formulated.

At the end of the day, you probably can’t go wrong with either. But understanding these differences can help you make the best choice for your coffee alternative!
