Kate Hudson is the daughter of Goldie Hawn and Bill Hudson but her parents divorced before she was 2 years old, and she was raised by her mother and long-time boyfriend Kurt Russell. She was accepted to New York University but decided to pursue acting instead. Hudson began acting at age 11 and her breakout role was in Almost Famous for which she was nominated for an Academy Award. Her other ventures include writing a New York Times best-selling book and launching 2 fashion lines. Some of the proceeds from a joint venture with her mother have gone to the Goldie Hawn Foundation. Hudson has 3 children. She has over 10 million followers on Instagram alone. Hudson is 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs about 120 lbs.
Kate Hudson’s Diet
Hudson gained and subsequently lost 70 lbs. of baby weight by eating mostly vegan foods, but says she loves to eat and wasn’t interested in starving herself. Coffee notwithstanding, she follows a high-alkaline diet, meaning 60-80% of her calories comes from vegetables, fruit, nuts, and tofu. She mostly avoids meat, dairy and gluten. She also limits her intake of refined sugar. While she’s not a huge fan of breakfast, she tries to eat 5 smaller meals each day. She isn’t too strict with herself, however, and if she goes out to a restaurant, she’ll order whatever she wants. Hudson also makes a point to drink plenty of water, and recommends drinking at least half your body weight in ounces every day.

Hudson loves her coffee. She’ll have it in the morning, and she’ll often have it in the afternoon as well to help her through the midday doldrums.
Hudson says she isn’t hungry in the morning and, other than her coffee, she’ll just have a green juice. After working out, she’ll have a protein shake.
Lean and Green
Hudson’s meals center around whole, natural foods like vegetables, fruit, soy and nuts. Because of her busy life, she’ll sometimes use a food delivery service.
Some of Hudson’s faves are Hawaiian pizza and gluten-free mac ’n cheese.

Kate Hudson’s Workout Routine
Pump It Up
To lose the baby weight, Hudson worked out daily with a trainer for up to 2 hours. She said she saw results so fast, she really looked forward to her sessions.
Hudson’s trainer would constantly switch up the routine to increase intensity, which in turn boosts metabolism.
Hudson does Pilates exercises every day to keep her core muscles toned and tight, and also strong and lean.
Crazy For Cardio
Hudson is a big fan of cardio. She’ll run, hike, take a spin class, do Tracy Anderson, jazz dance and even pole dancing. To burn more calories, she recommends working out first thing in the morning on an empty stomach.
Hudson did 12 different exercises for 2+ hours 3x/week to tone her body and burn calories all day long.

Hudson carries a jump rope wherever she goes so she can always squeeze a mini workout in.
