Heather Dubrow’s Diet

Diet Summary

Both Heather and her husband Terry admit to struggling with weight and yo-yo dieting over the years. Heather says friends were always asking her what her secret was, and so together, she and her husband came up with The Dubrow Diet which is based on the concept of interval eating. This means that when you eat matters as much as what you eat. Regardless of how small you make your eating window, the focus is meant to be on wholesome foods that contain plenty of nutrients. You fast for either 12, 14 or 16 hours per day, and are allowed a cheat snack, cheat meal or cheat day once a week, depending on which level you choose. Dubrow calls it the antidote for yo-yo dieting and it is meant to rejuvenate and energize.

Heather Dubrow’s Workout Routine

Weekly Workout Routine

Daily Dose

Dubrow says there’s a reason it’s called ‘daily exercise,’ and that is because we’re all meant to move every day. She preps her gym bag the night before so that it’s ready to go in the am.

Rise & Shine

When she was younger, Dubrow says she used to tell her that she’d work out in the afternoon, but life would get in the way, and so now she makes exercise a priority and does it first thing.

Fasted Cardio

Because Dubrow does intermittent fasting, she works out on an empty stomach. She likes it because fasting really cranks up the fat-burning.

Love the Afterburn

Dubrow is a fan of Orange Theory, a high-intensity interval training workout that is meant to maximize EPOC, aka the afterburn effect, meaning you continue to burn calories for up to 36 hours after the class.

Hit It

Dubrow is a fan of another kind of hitting, this one with gloves. She does Boxhaus, which includes multiple rounds of boxing along with bouncing.

Pajama Power

Dubrow also does a class called Lightning Fit. No, this one isn’t relaxing either. You get strapped into a suit and then zapped with electricity while working out. The electrical charge is meant to burn a lot of calories. Dubrow recommends this if you want to drop a quick few lbs. before a big event.
