Model
Born: 1995

Jelena ‘Gigi’ Hadid is the daughter of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Dutch model Yolanda Hadid and Palestinian-American real estate developer Mohamed Hadid. She began modeling when she was only 2 years old. After finishing high school in Malibu, she relocated to New York City where she started studying criminal psychology at the New School, but modeling gigs interfered with her classes and she decided to set aside her schooling for the time being. Hadid has graced many international fashion magazine covers, including Elle, Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar, and she has also done runway modeling for Victoria’s Secret, Versace, Chanel and many more. She has a younger sister and brother who are also fashion models. In 2017, she and her sister Bella became the first siblings to make the Forbes World’s Highest Paid Models list. Hadid has appeared in a few music videos and reality TV shows besides Real Housewives, including Masterchef and Lip Sync Battle, and she played herself in the film Ocean’s 8. Hadid has millions of followers on social media. She is 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs about 119 lbs.

She has been diagnosed with Hashimoto’s disease, an autoimmune disorder which attacks the thyroid and can cause fatigue, achy joints and inflammation. As a result, Hadid strives to eat fresh, organic, whole foods most of the time, and she always drinks plenty of water, up to a gallon a day.

{

Hadid On Guys At The Gym

They don’t care about me as a model or what my body looks like. They care that I give a good punch…that’s what I find pride in.

Gigi Hadid’s Supplements

Hadid doesn’t cop to taking any supplements, but a daily multivitamin can help fill in any nutritional gaps for busy people who don’t always have time to eat proper meals. As for her Hashimoto’s disease, supplements that support thyroid health include iodine which helps the thyroid with hormone production. Zinc reduces inflammation and boosts the thyroid’s use of vitamins such as A and D, and selenium also helps with vitamin conversion and supports immunity. Probiotics promote digestive health, and thus vitamin absorption. Vitamins D3 and K2 support immune function, and the Ayurvedic supplement ashwagandha or Indian ginseng also helps to improve immunity, along with energy, stamina, and sleep.

Gigi Hadid’s Lifestyle

All In the Family

Hadid has a large blended family, with 2 half-sisters from her father’s side and 5 more from her mother’s, two of which are Erin and Sara Foster from Barely Famous on VH1. David Foster is also a step-dad to Brandon and Brody Jenner, half-sibs of Kendall and Kylie Jenner. Hadid and Kendall Jenner are said to be good friends.

Play That Funky Music

Hadid has been in several music videos, including Bad Blood by her good friend, Taylor Swift.

Internet Agony

After enduring body shaming on social media for being ‘too fat,’ Hadid went on social media to explain she’d been diagnosed with Hashimoto’s disease, an autoimmune disorder of the thyroid.

Not Just Horsing Around

Hadid rode horses competitively and played volleyball in high school making it all the way to the Junior Olympic qualifiers before setting her sites on modeling.

No Shrinking Violet

When a man wrapped his arms around her and lifted her into the air in Milan, Italy, Hadid elbowed him in the face and then ran after him.

{

Hadid On Internet Trolling

I will not further explain the way my body looks, just as anyone, with a body type that doesn’t suit your “beauty” expectation, shouldn’t have to.

{

My mom always told me if you’re not the nicest, most hardworking girl in the room, there’s always going to be someone prettier than you who’s nicer and more hardworking.
