Genius Consciousness Review – Super Nootropic Awakening Formula

The Genius Brand™ is a supplement company co-created and run by Rob Oliver. The brand, trademarked in 2017, is considered one of the fastest-growing supplement brands in the world and is owned by Pacificnorthwest Naturals, LLC.  The company markets and sells an extensive number of products in the sports nutrition, weight management, and cognition spaces.

We are favorably impressed that the company uses nearly all patented and trademarked ingredients, no proprietary blends, and no artificial colors, flavors, or sweeteners.

For this review, we’ll focus on the product they’re best known for and one of their top-selling items, their cognition product Genius Consciousness. This product is referred to as their Super Nootropic Awakening Formula. The site describes the product as a dietary supplement to “help provide mental capacity support in all significant areas of measures in key brain functions, including memory, concentration, learning, recall, mood, and focus.”

The inspiration for the company, as articulated by Rob Oliver was to develop and create products that “optimize mind and body,” for an optimized life. The approach to product formulation was in response to the industry’s issues with amino spiked protein powders and hidden banned substances. The Genius Brand’s™ strategy features quality, trademarked ingredients, and transparency.

In this review we’ll detail those trademarked ingredients in Genius Consciousness, discuss the product’s benefits, determine if the brand is meeting its claims in terms of efficacy, inform you where you can find the products, review their cost value relationship, and as always provide you our rating in terms of effectiveness and value.

What is Genius Consciousness Nootropic

The product is a powdered drink mix, comprised of several trademarked ingredients designed to provide “high-performance thinking,” by addressing the following areas:

  • Cognitive function – for memory, focus, and learning
  • Creativity
  • Neurogeneration
  • Neuroprotection

If you’re like us, you’re familiar with memory, focus, learning, and creativity. Perhaps we’re suffering from a bit of brain fog, but neurogeneration and neuroprotection need a bit more clarification.

Neurogeneration refers to any degeneration of the nervous system, particularly in the brain. Two key ingredients in Genius Consciousness, help to support the creation of new brain cells.

As would be expected in this context neuroprotection refers to Genius Consciousness’ ability to preserve and protect cognitive function by decreasing neurons excitability and excitotoxicity, while addressing inflammation and stress.

Key Ingredients in Genius Consciousness

The product contains a total of ten ingredients, each identified separately on the Supplement Facts panel, (no proprietary blends), and with the precise amount of each ingredient indicated. We love the transparency.

Of the ten ingredients, five are trademarked:

  • AstraGin™, 50 mg, from Panax Notoginseng and Astragalus, to support absorption.
  • NeuroFactor™, 100 mg, with clinical trials to support the claim to repair and protect neurons.
  • Dynamine™, 125 mg, amplifies feelings of energy, mood, and focus by activating dopamine receptors. Dynamine™ is a derivative of caffeine, similar to Teacrine™.
  • SerinAid™, 100 mg, to help improve mood and reduce both physical and psychological stress. Phosphatidylserine (PS), from Chemi Nutra, clinically shown to maintain and improve mental performance.
  • AlphaSize™, 600 mg, considered one of the most active ingredients for memory available anywhere. Also from Chemi Nutra, and also supported by clinical trials.

This is a comprehensive, in fact, extensive list of proprietary, trademarked ingredients, for one product. We are familiar with the ingredient companies, their reputations, and their restrictions regarding structure-function claims.

The other ingredients in Genius Consciousness are Acetyl L-Carnitine HCI, Lion’s Mane Powder, L-Tyrosine, Caffeine, and Huperzine A. Each of the non-proprietary components are frequently used in other popular cognition products, such as Lion’s Mane which can be found in many products like Mind Lab Pro and Huperzine A in products like NeuroIGNITE and Apex Mastermind. Those products, however, may not contain as many trademarked ingredients.

Genius Consciousness Dosage

A serving is one scoop, a full 5.3 grams of the product. For taxing mental activities, the company recommends mixing ½ serving and consuming it 15-30 minutes prior to working. For greater energy and more intense focus, drink a full serving in 8-12 oz of water.

The site also recommends “stacking” the product with other Genius Brand™ for specific situations such as pre-training, mixed with Genius Pre, for increased mental energy, with Genius Mushroom, and for mood enhancement and stress relief, with Genius Joy.

How Does Genius Consciousness Perform – the Claims versus the Reality

testimonial for genius products

We think Genius Consciousness meets or exceeds the performance of other national brand nootropics. Customer reviews are nearly universally positive for energy, focus, mental clarity, and improved memory to a lesser extent. Caffeine in the formulation always makes us just a bit suspect when it comes to the energy component. One product reviewer mentioned that the benefits of Genius Consciousness dissipated much like the energy from her favorite coffee.

So, will you see heightened mental clarity, yes. Increased focus, yes. Improved cognitive performance, yes. More energy? Without a doubt. We didn’t hear much about mood support in our review, or creativity, but as to reduced brain fog, we think it’s a no brainer, yes.

Potential Side Effects of Genius Consciousness

Based on our review, we believe Genius Consciousness to be a safe supplement if taken as directed. The ingredients used are 100% natural, plant-derived compounds, from trusted ingredient suppliers, produced in regulated facilities. These ingredients are used in a plethora of other popular supplements from respected brands within the industry.

To our knowledge, none of the ingredients are known to pose serious side effect risks. We do recommend caution when starting to use Genius Consciousness. We suggest you start with a one-quarter or one-half serving and titrate up as you become accustomed to the product.

With both caffeine and Huperzine A included in the compound, we recommend a prudent approach.

Best Places to Buy Genius Consciousness

All Genius Brand products, including Genius Consciousness, are available on the company’s web site as well as at major specialty brick and mortar retailers; GNC and Vitamin Shoppe. Genius products are also available at Target.

The founder of The Genius Brand, Rob Oliver, got his start in the supplement business working with various brands and Amazon. So, the product is available at Amazon.

A fifteen-serve container is $37.99 on The Genius Brand website and Amazon. It appears the brand does well with pricing integrity as the price listed at the Vitamin Shoppe is the identical $37.99.

At $37.99, the cost per serving is $2.53 per serving. This represents a significant premium to many of the other popular, national brand nootropics on the market such as Prevagen, Focus Factor, and Cognium. This pricing disparity is fueled, no doubt, by the five trademarked ingredients in Genius Consciousness.

In Summary

The brand and its approach to supplementation are resonating with the consumer, as evidenced by its growth trends. The approach is genius, trust the trademark, trust the trademarked ingredients, trust the structure-function claims supported by clinical trials. Coupled with natural ingredients, with no artificial colors, flavors, sweeteners, or proprietary blends and the company is meeting the consumers’ desire for transparency and efficacy.
