Alive Max Potency

Alive Vitamins Max Potency Benefits

Alive Vitamins Max Potency liquid multivitamin offers your body several benefits, including supporting bone health, heart health, the immune system, and more. Below, we will go through each of the benefits Alive Vitamins Max Potency can provide.

Supports Bone Health

We have heard at one time or another that we need calcium and vitamin D for strong and healthy bones. However, magnesium is also important for the maintenance of healthy bones and teeth. All these vitamins and minerals work together to keep our bones healthy and strong.

Supports Heart Health

Several other vitamins and minerals assist in the regulation of blood pressure, and muscle contraction to help keep the heart strong. In a systemic review and meta-analysis of multiple prospective cohort studies, it was shown that folate and vitamin B6 are associated with a decreased risk of coronary heart disease. Magnesium also helps to regulate blood pressure.

Supports the Immune System

Vitamin A, E, C, zinc, selenium, omega-3 fatty acids, and the defense blend are all on the defense to support our immune system and keep our bodies healthy.

Alive Max Potency - Support Immune System

Supports the Digestive System

With the help of several vitamins and minerals in this supplement, there is the potential to protect and support the digestive system and decrease inflammation.

Supports Eye, Hair, and Nail Health

Vitamin A and zinc both contribute to supporting our eyes, hair, skin, and nail health.

Supports Cellular Energy

The B-vitamin complex and several other minerals make up the cellular energy team. These all work together to make energy and keep our bodies going.

If you have noticed a trend going on, it’s because all of these vitamins and minerals work together to provide maximum benefits for the body. In some cases, one mineral works better when combined with another or needs another to function properly itself. That is the purpose of a multivitamin, to provide the body with adequate nutrition supplementation that contains multiple vitamins and minerals.

Alive Vitamins Max Potency Ingredients

Alive Vitamins Max Potency’s formula contains a variety of fat-soluble vitamins and minerals as well as Vitamin C, B-Vitamins, Choline, a Daily Greens Blend, a Fruit, and Veggies Blend, a Defense Blend, and an Omega Fatty Acid Blend. We will go into further detail on each ingredient below.

Alive Max Potency - Ingredients

Fat-Soluble Vitamins and Vitamin C

The first set of ingredients is fat-soluble vitamins. These include vitamins A, D, E, and K. Fat-soluble vitamins are transported with fat throughout the body and stored in the liver and fat tissue. This allows for these vitamins to be stored in the body for longer periods of time.

Vitamin A is essential for eye health and has an important role in bone growth, tooth development, cell division, and immune system regulation. Vitamin A, along with others, also acts as an antioxidant. Vitamin D, or the sunshine vitamin, maintains the balance of calcium and phosphorus in the body to help form and maintain bone health. It also plays a role in immunity and controls cell growth.

Vitamin E acts as an antioxidant and protects other fat-soluble vitamins like A and C, as well as essential fatty acids, and red blood cells from being destroyed. Lastly, we have vitamin K. Vitamin K promotes bone health, plays an essential role in blood clotting, and assists in producing proteins for the kidneys, bones, and blood.

Vitamin C is a water-soluble vitamin and plays a huge role in immune function. Vitamin C supports the and function of immune cells, and aids in white blood cells getting to the sites of infection. This vitamin even helps to produce antibodies! A meta-analysis of vitamin C intakes showed that there was a significant reduction in the risk of pneumonia with vitamin C supplementation. It has also been shown to decrease the duration and severity of respiratory infections like the common cold.

B-Vitamins and Choline

All the B-vitamins, except for folate, are involved in at the minimum of one of the several steps of energy production. Thiamin (B1) helps break down pyruvate and branched chain amino acids to form acetyl-CoA. Riboflavin (B2) is needed for red blood cell production, energy metabolism, transcription, and translation. Niacin (B3) is a pre-cursor for tryptophan and is needed by all cells for energy metabolism and to make ATP. Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine) is needed for protein metabolism and is also a co-enzyme to stimulate liver enzymes.

Biotin assists in fatty acid synthesis and converts pyruvate to oxaloacetate in the process of gluconeogenesis. Pantothenic acid is also needed for energy metabolism and the synthesis of fatty acids. Folate aids in the formation of red blood cells and DNA. Vitamin B12 (cyanocobalamin) is also needed to produce red blood cells, aid in transcription and translation. Choline is involved with energy metabolism as well by producing the neurotransmitter acetylcholine.

All of these B vitamins play a role in energy production. Think about it as a puzzle; if there is a missing piece, then the puzzle cannot be completed. This also goes for these vitamins, not enough of one or a deficiency of one, and the function does not happen.

Daily Greens Blend

This blend packs in a lot of, you guessed it, greens. These include spirulina, barley, dandelion, lemongrass, blue-green algae, and cilantro, to name a few. This is Nature’s Way’s own unique formula. Green powders/mixes, like Delicious Green Superfood and Ideal Greens, are usually made to be meal replacements and are not considered to be complete like other multivitamins. This is a reason why this is also included in this multivitamin. It has some added benefits, such as being high in polyphenols from plants that have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.

Orchard Fruits and Garden Veggies Powder Blend

This is another powder blend that is mixed into this multivitamin and contains the dried powders of many fruits and vegetables. Again, this is like the Daily Greens Blend and made by Nature’s Way, this also comes as a separate supplement. The blend contains vitamins and minerals, as you would get from eating fruits and vegetables, but it is not meant for consumers to replace the fresh fruits and vegetables with. So, keep eating those fruits and veggies!

Mushroom Mycelial & Primordia Biomass Defense Blend

This is a blend that I was not as familiar with. The list of items that are in this blend can be found here. There are some that I have not heard of, and I bet are hard for most of us to pronounce. So why is it in here? Mushrooms have been used for years to support health, and with companies like Four Sigmatic using them in a variety of ways when it comes to supplements, they have become widely popular. These health benefits range from antioxidant properties, heart support, stress and sleep support, and even energy and stamina. However, the one benefit that the defense blend items have in common is immune response support. This would make sense as it is a defense blend, and it can boost that immune system.

Omega 3/6/9 Fatty Acid Blend

Here we have another blend. This supplement is full of combination moves! Omega – 3 and 6 fatty acids are polyunsaturated, and they provide energy and make eicosanoids. Eicosanoids aid in immune function and support the cardiovascular system. Omega 3- fatty acids have conflicting studies about its benefit on the cardiovascular system. The FDA states that, “There is supportive, but not conclusive research that shows that EPA and DHA may reduce the risk of coronary heart disease.” Omega- 6 fatty acids work in conjunction with omega-3’s.

The third part of this blend is omega-9 fatty acids, or monosaturated fatty acids. Omega-9 fatty acids have shown benefits in reducing blood pressure. In a study on oleic acid (olive oil!), it showed that omega- 9 fatty acids prevented and controlled blood pressure levels in the general population. Another 2015 study showed that mice that consumed a diet high in monosaturated fat showed a decrease in inflammation.

Minerals

Calcium is known to assist in blood clotting and cardiac/muscle/nerve function. Calcium also affects bone health. When the levels are too low in the body, calcium stored in our bones will be taken out to be stored elsewhere, so it is important to maintain regular storage of calcium in the body. Magnesium is needed for protein and fatty acid synthesis, in glycolysis for energy production, creation of strong bones and teeth, and muscle contraction. It has also been shown that a supplement of 370 mg/day, can have a slight decrease in blood pressure.

Zinc is a cofactor for different enzymes that are involved with metabolism and cell growth. Zinc also aids in wound healing, so it is beneficial for the health of your skin. Zinc also aids in the production of digestive enzymes, specifically in the pancreas; without these digestive enzymes, our bodies would have a hard time processing the food we eat to turn it into energy.

Copper and zinc are antagonists, so when levels of one decrease in the body, the other increases. They work together to support the immune response and healthy digestion. Copper is also responsible for the function of different enzymes and carbohydrate metabolism for energy production.

Selenium works as an antioxidant. This mineral protects the body from oxidative damage and infection. In the gut, it enhances the response to inflammation. Another benefit of selenium is heart health. In a placebo-controlled study on healthy adults, it was shown to lower total plasma cholesterol compared to a placebo.

Manganese is also a cofactor for enzymes like arginine, and pyruvate carboxylase (crucial for metabolism). Other roles that manganese has are cholesterol metabolism, and immune response. Manganese also helps to synthesize vitamin C and B vitamins. See how they all continue to keep tying together? Iodine regulates the thyroid hormones, which in turn help with metabolic activity and immune response.

There are several other ingredients that are included but not in great quantities and ones that don’t have a recommended daily intake amount. This multivitamin is really like a monster cookie; it contains everything but the kitchen sink.

Does Alive Vitamins Max Potency Work?

Most of the vitamins and minerals in this supplement have been proven to benefit the body in numerous ways. The way each of them works in the body is understood; however, there is conflicting research as to the extent of their benefits. This does have the potential to supplement your body with some essential vitamins and minerals that it may be lacking.

Alive Max Potency - Whole Food Energizer

I did find some mixed reviews about Alive Vitamins Max Potency and its efficacy, so this would be one to try, and if it works for you, great, and if not, then that’s okay too. One thing that I ask is that you don’t stop eating your fruits and vegetables; that is why this is a multivitamin supplement. Continue to consume those colorful fruits and vegetables!

Claim vs. Reality

The statements that are made on the Nature’s Way Alive website as well as on the supplement bottle, could prove to be true when it comes to Alive Vitamins Max Potency. We know that vitamins and minerals have numerous health benefits, and that is the bulk of this supplement. As always, though, the statements made have not been evaluated by the FDA to be true.

Liquid vs. Pill Which is better?

This is a multivitamin that is certainly different from the rest. While most multivitamins, such as PRIZM Multivitamin and WODPAK, come in pill capsules, Alive Vitamins Max Potency comes in a liquid form. This multivitamin can be consumed straight or even mixed in with your favorite smoothie, so the convenience is still there. One benefit of consuming a liquid form multivitamin is that it is easily digestible compared to pills or capsules. Since this is easily digestible, it allows for it to be absorbed better.

If you are anything like me and have a hard time with swallowing pills, then this is for you. No worrying about trying to swallow huge pills/capsules; just pour it out and go. One negative to the liquid supplements is that they don’t have as long of a shelf life, and you have to refrigerate this after opening, unlike traditional pills/capsules. Neither one is better than the other, it all depends on you and your preference.

Who is Alive Vitamins Max Potency Best for?

This supplement is for individuals who are not consuming all of the recommended allowance of vitamins and minerals through food. This will not benefit one group more than the next.

Alive Max Potency - For Adults

Is Alive Vitamins Max Potency Safe?

For most vitamins and minerals, there is no upper limit or toxicity level. One vitamin to watch, though, is vitamin A. Vitamin A can be toxic if too much is consumed over time. The toxicity level is 3,000 mcg for adults. I know you are thinking, well that is a lot, and I never consume that much vitamin A, well this multivitamin does contain 3,000 mcg of vitamin A. The good news is that 50% of the vitamin A in Alive Max Potency comes from beta-carotene, which appears to be safe. A general rule is to make sure that the vitamin A comes mostly from beta-carotene.

Another potential safety concern is for those who take blood thinners or anticoagulants. Vitamin K can interact with this medication and deter its effectiveness. Also, those taking sulfonamide should consult a doctor before taking. As a rule of thumb, when in doubt, consult with your doctor to see if this is the right multivitamin for you.
