The search for the perfect skincare routine has led many to debate which creams, serums, and treatments are best. As some of us know, skincare is deeper than just topical ointments. Staying hydrated and keeping out of the sun can help reduce wrinkles and improve skin elasticity. But that’s still not enough for some.

On the journey to perfect skin, many have turned to The Nue Co Skin Filter, a skincare supplement designed to improve our complexion from the inside out. But does their formula really work? Let’s take a look in this The Nue Co Skin Filter review.

About The Nue Co

Founded in New York in 2017 by Jules Miller, The Nue Co is a relatively new company with a rather young CEO. Following an irritable bowel syndrome diagnosis in 2015, Miller struggled to find supplements that would work for her. With tons of additives and fillers that exacerbated the problem, she decided to team up with her grandfather, a pharmacist, to develop a line of products free from these ingredients.

Since then, The Nue Co has created 12 different supplement products ranging from probiotics to products that boost mental focus. Now creating a personalized wellness prescription, the company continues to grow at a rapid pace.

The Nue Co Skin Filter Benefits

The Nue Co Skin Filter supplement claims to improve sun damage, pigmentation, and breakouts while blurring out impurities. Their formula includes dermatology-tested Ayurvedic ingredients, including vitamin C, zinc, Champagne grape seed, and melon. They also incorporate 50% of the daily recommended value for Vitamin A in the form of beta-carotene. All with antioxidant properties, this supplement is essentially a multivitamin for your skin.

Vitamin C

The Nue Co utilizes vitamin C from Camu Camu, a shrub that produces fruit similar to cherries. Studies show intake of vitamin C helps to stimulate collagen production, and its antioxidant properties help to protect against UV damage.

Zinc

Studies have found zinc to be anti-inflammatory, which has shown to be helpful in decreasing redness and swelling in those struggling with acne. It has also been shown to improve wound healing and reduce scarring. Because our body doesn’t store this mineral, it relies on us to consume enough daily. Those with a zinc deficiency may experience symptoms such as hair loss and brittle nails.

Champagne Grape Seed

Rich in antioxidants and tartaric acid, champagne grape seed extract helps reduce discoloration and visibly brightens skin. Along with Resveratrol, a potent antioxidant famous for its high levels found in red wine, this extract can protect against signs of aging and environmental damage.

Melon

Melon fruit concentrate is said to help brighten dull-looking skin and even help improve elasticity. With its high antioxidant content, it’s also highly effective for improving photodamage to skin and reducing signs of aging.

Beta-Carotene

A carotenoid that gives carrots and pumpkin their orange color and precursor to vitamin A, beta-carotene is another potent antioxidant. Beta-carotene is most well-known for its ability to help protect our skin from sun damage.

Does The Nue Co Skin Filter Work?

With raving reviews, 87% of customers gave The Nue Co Skin Filter 5-stars. Some consumers reported noticing breakouts popup when stopping the product for a few days and others noted a smoother, clearer, and brighter complexion.

There were a small number of complaints about the product being ineffective; however, they were a lot lower in number than those who boasted huge improvements.

Claims vs. Reality

The Nue Co claims their Skin Filter supplement uses clinically proven patented technology to increase skin luminosity and elastin by 9%, decrease blemishes by 21% and reduce redness by 26%. They compare their product to an ingestible retinol, helping to improve your skin from the inside out.

Their ingredients, specifically vitamin C, zinc, and beta-carotene, have been extensively studied for their antioxidant properties in brightening complexion, reducing sun damage, and fading dark spots. Champagne grape seed and melon fruit concentrate are also high in antioxidants along with other potent ingredients, such as Resveratrol, that has been shown to reduce the signs of aging.

Although more research is needed on the complex interactions and efficacy of these ingredients in supplement form, many studies support positive findings in the improvement of skin health and appearance.

Is The Nue Co Skin Filter Safe?

The Nue Co Skin Filter supplement is reported on their website to play nice with their other supplements; however, caution should be used if already taking dietary supplements that contain zinc. The recommended upper limit dose for zinc in adults is 40mg a day. Taking too much zinc can result in copper deficiency.

The other ingredients in these products are recognized as generally safe when used as directed. Always discuss with your physician before taking any new dietary supplements, especially if you have any underlying health conditions or take medications.

The Nue Co reports their products are free of toxic preservatives, additives, flavorings, and sweeteners and boasts organic, vegan, and cruelty-free.
