EnzymeMD Review

Enzymes play a role in our digestive system. Specifically, enzymes’ primary role is to digest different types of compounds that we eat such as carbohydrates, protein, fat, and sugar. Aside from digestive problems such as gas and bloating, if we don’t properly digest these compounds, our body will not get the best of them and it may even slow our body down due to problems in our digestion. Therefore, these enzymes play a lot of essential roles in our health.

Aside from eating healthy foods, taking enzymes through dietary supplements is one of the ways to get them. For this one, we have EnzymeMD, an enzyme supplement made by 1MD. In this review, we are going to figure out what EnzymeMD is and, more importantly, if this supplement is promising.

So, let’s take a closer look with this EnzymeMD review. We will dive into the following:

  • Details about EnzymeMD
  • Review the pros and cons of its ingredients
  • Discuss consumer’s reviews
  • Share where you can purchase the product
  • Provide pricing details of EnzymeMD by 1MD
  • Give our review out of 5 stars

So, without further ado, let’s get started!

Now, let’s take a look at some of the ingredients to see how EnzymeMD would work for us.

EnzymeMD Ingredients

As mentioned above, EnzymeMD has a proprietary blend, EnzymeMD Proprietary Blend. The blend contains 18 enzymes. We are going to discuss each of these enzymes and what they can do for your body.

EnyzmeMD Supplement Facts

Saccharomyces Boulardii

Saccharomyces Boulardii is a fungal strain that is mainly used to treat diarrheal-related illnesses. Like other probiotics and “good” bacteria, Saccharomyces Boulardii can drive away pathogenic or “bad” bacteria either by crowding them out or by starving them. Most people can tolerate Saccharomyces Boulardii unless the person has a severe disorder in his or her immune system.

Alpha-amylase

Alpha-amylase has the primary role in preventing gas. This is achieved by digesting complex carbohydrates, which could take a while digesting if not for these enzymes. Also, alpha-amylase can weaken pathogenic presence in the intestines by destroying their biofilm, a defensive component of the pathogens.

Bromelain

Bromelain is a type of protease that can be found in pineapples. As a protease, bromelain can help in breaking down and digesting protein. Some studies show that bromelain can help in arthritis or even blood clotting disorders, but more study is needed to support these claims.

Peptidase

Peptidase aids in digesting proteins and breaking them down into amino acids. This process of breaking down protein into amino acids is very important because amino acids play various and essential roles in our body; one of their notable roles is building and rebuilding tissues within our body.

Glucoamylase

Aside from alpha-amylase, glucoamylase also plays a role in digesting complex carbohydrates into digestible pieces. In the process, glucoamylase can help prevent or reduce certain digestive problems such as gas.

Aside from breaking down complex carbohydrates, certain studies suggest that glucoamylase can help in treating diabetes. This is because the enzyme seemed to enhance insulin response even to rising blood sugar.

Proteases

Like peptidase, proteases also play a role in breaking down proteins into amino acids. Aside from helping our body in breaking down protein into amino acids, the two enzymes subsequently play a role in helping our digestive tract by breaking down the proteins we get.

Papain

Papain is an enzyme that can be found in papaya. It is known for its role in breaking down protein. Aside from that, papain is plays the role in breaking down meat. It breaks down the meat’s protein and softens down the tough parts of the meat.

Papain also has anti-inflammatory properties and some studies show that it can help reduce the risk of heart disease.

Alpha-galactosidase

Alpha-galactosidase aids in breaking down carbohydrates. Specifically, this enzyme breaks down simple sugars attached to protein and fats. In turn, the said sugars could be used by our body as a fuel source for energy.

Cellulase

Cellulase plays a role in breaking down our body’s cellulose. Cellulose is a non-digestible fiber component that is extremely difficult to be digested by our body. Without cellulose help, some cellulose could remain after digestion and will go into the stool instead. Cellulase will help our body break down our cellulose more effectively and efficiently.

Lipase

Lipase’s main role is to help break down and digest fat. Aside from that, it also helps our body to better absorb vitamins A, D, E, and K.

Beta-glucanase

Like alpha-amylase and glucoamylase, beta-glucanase aids in breaking down some types of complex carbohydrates. Consequently, this will help in reducing gas. Also, this enzyme is utilized in making wine by using it to break down yeasts and polysaccharides.

Phytase

Phytase plays a role in digesting seeds and nuts. It also increases our body’s zinc absorption, which is very important because zinc plays various essential roles for our body such as improved immune function and metabolism. It is also needed for DNA synthesis.

Invertase

Invertase improves the breakdown and digestion and certain sugars. In turn, this aids in decreasing the spike in our blood sugar whenever we consume them.

Because of its role in sugar, invertase can play a role in preventing certain conditions such as diabetes and obesity.

Maltase

Maltase is quite opposite to invertase: it increases blood sugar spikes in our body. This is achieved by breaking down maltose into the simple sugar we know as glucose. While this may sound like a negative trait, it can improve our body’s energy by making glucose more available to the body. However, if you are diabetic or have problems with high blood sugar, you should be wary of consuming this enzyme.

Hemicellulase

Hemicellulase is a type of cellulose that aids in breaking down vegetable matter. In the process, it helps decrease digestive problems such as gas and bloating.

Xylanase

Xylanase also plays a role in improving vegetable digestion and decreasing digestive issues such as gas and bloating, just like hemicellulase. Xylanase is a type of hemicellulose.

Lactase

Lactase plays a role in digesting lactose, a sugar that is commonly found and associated with milk and milk products like ice cream. Since lactase aids in breaking down lactose, it can also help prevent or reduce gas and bloating.

EnzymeMD Benefits

What I like the most about EnzymeMD is that it is loaded with different enzymes which will work for the benefit of your body. To put it into context, you need to eat different foods to get most of these enzymes. At EnzymeMD, you just need to take one pill to get them all. That being said, I am not saying that we should depend more on supplements than on foods. Rather, it’s just great to have a supplement that will conveniently provide you with what you need.

EnzymeMD Benefits

Aside from that, EnzymeMD also offers a 90-day money-back guarantee. This is great especially if you’re just trying it out – if it did not work for you, you can simply ask for a refund.

Is EnzymeMD Safe?

Since EnzymeMD works on your digestive system, you could expect digestive side effects depending on how your body responds to it. Other than that, there should be little to no side effects caused by the supplement.

Either way, consult your doctor before taking any new supplement including EnzymeMD. This is to ensure that they will not hurt your current health state. If you are pregnant or you are taking medications, consult your doctor to ensure that the supplement will not affect your digestion or medications.

Other than the potential side effects, I do not see any negative side effects with EnzymeMD. You could note the price – currently at $35.99 per bottle – but I think that it is still in a pretty reasonable range.
