DreamWater - Review

Dream Water is a company started by a Florida college student. He noticed there was a big market for sleeping pills but no sleeping drinks. Dream Water is a three-ingredient combination product designed to help users fall asleep and stay asleep. Their target market includes people with both chronic and acute sleep issues, like jet lag.

It should be noted a class-action lawsuit was filed against Dream Water for false advertising & claims. But, it doesn’t appear the case went anywhere.

Benefits Of Dream Water

Help Falling Asleep

Dream Water contains a blend of ingredients that are involved in the circadian rhythm and sleep. Supporting sleep pathways have been shown to help users fall asleep.

Help Staying Asleep

Staying asleep involves similar pathways to falling asleep. Dream Water can support one of the pathways involved in maintaining a healthy sleep cycle.

Prevent “Jet Lag”

Flying is often stressful, doesn’t allow for relaxation, and involves changing time zones. Dream Works may help to get your brain and body back on track after challenging travel.

Dream Water Ingredients

GABA (Gamma-Aminobutyric Acid)

GABA is one of the primary relaxation neurotransmitters. Things like alcohol and benzodiazepines target GABA receptors. This is why people are often tired after drinking or using these drugs. GABA may be given at doses between 100-200 mg before bed. Unfortunately, supplemental GABA is poorly absorbed in the gut. As a result, the research seems to be split on the effectiveness of supplementing with GABA.

5-Hydroxytryptophan

5-Hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP) is an amino acid precursor to melatonin and serotonin. Thanksgiving Turkey’s sedative-like effect is often attributed to the melatonin content. Unlike GABA supplementation, 5-HTP supplementation is well tolerated and absorbed in the gut. In fact, most of our serotonin is made in our gut. 5-HTP supplementation has been shown to alter brain wave activity. This helps users get in the right mental space for sleep. Research has shown the combination of 5-HTP and GABA is better than either nutrient alone. 5-HTP is commonly dosed between 100-300mg about 30 minutes before bed. Dream Water includes 10mg of 5-HTP.

Melatonin

Melatonin may be among the most popular nutritional supplements. Everyone and their mother seems to know that melatonin can help them sleep. But, that’s not 100% accurate.

Melatonin is a hormone that helps to coordinate our circadian rhythm (aka sleep-wake cycle). Other hormones and neurotransmitters work alongside melatonin. This is why melatonin may not help everyone. Contrary to what many people believe, melatonin does not help you stay asleep. It can, however, help you fall asleep more quickly. When it comes to dosing, less is more. Many physicians will recommend 1-3mg before bedtime. Doses are occasionally recommended up to 6mg. Dream Water contains 5mg of melatonin. This dose may be too much for the general public.

Does Dream Water Work?

The majority of people that take Dream Water will probably experience some benefits. Based on the ingredients and their respective doses, melatonin is most likely doing the heavy lifting. Individuals without melatonin deficiency may wake up feeling groggy or even more tired. This may result from a high level of melatonin.

Dream Water Claims Vs. Reality

Dream Water contains three of the most popular supplement ingredients to battle sleeplessness and jet lag. Many people will notice they fall asleep quicker after using this product. If your issue is staying asleep, don’t count on Dream Water to help much. The low dose of 5-HTP and poor absorption of GABA won’t be enough to keep you asleep all night.

A few changes to Dream Water’s formulation could make a significant difference to users. Our neurotransmitter receptors require magnesium to function. Most Americans are magnesium deficient. As a result, magnesium supplementation can help people with sleep disturbances. Additionally, melatonin is not always the answer. It is better to use a low dose rather than a high dose. Too much melatonin may cause fatigue, irritability, and anxiety.

Dream Water Benefits

Who Is Dream Water Best For?

Dream Water will be best for three different groups.

Is Dream Water Safe?

Dream Water is a relatively safe product at the recommended serving size. Select users may find 5mg of melatonin to be more than they need.
