Bulletproof-Brain-Octane-Oil-Review

Since the Bulletproof craze began, it has caught on with a vengeance, and for good reason. Proponents of bulletproof coffee, the morning coffee drink with grass-fed butter and MCT oil, cite improved energy, mental clarity, and focus as definitive benefits. These are in addition to the well-known fat-burning and ketone-elevating benefits of the drink.

Now, Bulletproof has kicked it up a notch with its Brain Octane Oil. Although it nearly sounds like something you’d pour into your car, Bulletproof’s Brain Octane Oil is intended to be ingested. What’s more, it’s highly beneficial for your body and your brain. What’s the deal with this product and what makes it so popular? Keep reading our Brain Octane oil review to find out!

Bulletproof Brain Octane Oil

About Brain Octane Oil

Brain Octane Oil is made and produced by Bulletproof. This supplement company has become a popular option within the health and wellness community with their focus on functional nutrition and wellness. It also doesn’t hurt that Bulletproof has produced a wide variety of supplements including this one, Collagen Protein, Greens, Innerfuel Prebiotic, Collagen Protein Bars, coffee, and many more.

Supplements And Brain Octane Oil

According to Bulletproof’s website, their Brain Octane Oil is “more than just MCT.” MCT oil, in and of itself, provides a host of nutritional benefits—from boosting weight loss and helping you feel full to giving you instant energy and helping you stay in ketosis on your low-carb diet. The medium-chain triglycerides are easy to digest, and healthy fats are beneficial to your overall health and well-being.

Brain Octane Oil, then, is like MCT with an upgrade—or the best version of MCT oil, essentially. Let’s take a look at what makes this oil different from regular MCT oils or even coconut oil, for that matter.

You can think of Bulletproof Brain Octane Oil as the highest quality MCT oil you can get. Whereas MCT oil is a concentrate of the best components of pure coconut oil, Brain Octane Oil is a concentrate of the best components of MCT Oil. We’ll explain further as we start to discuss the ingredients.

Brain Octane Oil Ingredients

The ingredients in this supplement are very simple. First, let’s cover some prerequisite knowledge. MCT stands for “medium chain triglyceride.” MCT’s are fatty acids that have a lot of positive health benefits. There are four different types of MCTs:

  • C6: caproic acid
  • C8: caprylic acid
  • C10: capric acid
  • C12: lauric acid

Each of these MCTs has their own benefits, but some are better than others (when it comes to energy and ketone production). Without going into too much detail, C8 is the most coveted and C12 is the most abundant. Most MCT oil brands use a blend of these four MCTs – the more C8, the better quality; the more C12, the lower quality (generally speaking).

MCT Oil vs. Brain Octane

Brain Octane Oil is 100% C8, making it one of the most potent MCT products on the market.  MCT oil is typically extracted from coconut oil, and a standard MCT oil derives 20–60% of its content from C8 caprylic acid—which is the most ketogenic part of the coconut, according to Bulletproof’s website. Brain Octane Oil is 100% C8 content, so it’s the purest and most potent.

The ingredients in this supplement are 100% pure coconut-sourced. Many subpar MCTs contain a blend of coconut and palm oils, but Bulletproof’s Brain Octane is 100% coconut, making it even purer.

Further, the caprylic acid triglycerides extracted for this product are from highly refined coconut oil, which is the best kind to ingest. Plus, it’s expeller-pressed and processed without chemicals.

Brain Octane Oil Benefits

Many of the benefits are ideal for those on a keto or low-carb diet, although you can also benefit if you don’t follow a low-carb diet. Many customers cite a long list of positive benefits, including

  • Energy boost
  • Increased fat burn and fat loss
  • Weight loss
  • Reduced cravings, especially for carbs and sugar
  • Ketosis assistance
  • Better brain function and focus
  • Mood boost
  • Reduced grogginess and brain fog
  • Better sleep

While each person processes foods differently, most Brain Octane users have experienced at least one if not many of the positive side effects. Energy boost, fat burn, weight loss, and reduced cravings all go hand in hand and feed off of each other in a positive cycle. These are jump-started by the ketones produced by the body when taking this product, helping you get into ketosis and stay there for better success on your low-carb diet.

But the brain-boosting powers of Bulletproof’s oil are the icing on the cake (keto-friendly, of course). Who doesn’t want more mental alertness and focus throughout the day? Whether it’s morning fog or afternoon slump, Brain Octane Oil can help ward it off. Some users have even cited the reduction of depression or anxiety and a boosted mood, which is always a positive as well.

The fact is, the energy produced by the ketones in the oil can only help your brain and body.

How To Use Brain Octane Oil

The first and most obvious use for Brain Octane Oil is making Bulletproof Coffee. Simply mix some of the oil into your coffee or tea for an added boost of energy.

Bulletproof Brain Octane Oil and Coffee

Besides using it to make bulletproof coffee, you can use Brain Octane Oil in smoothies, tea, or other drinks. It can be used to make salad dressings or drizzled over meat and vegetables. It can even be a key ingredient in sauces or marinades. Just don’t fry or sauté with it because it can’t be heated past 300 degrees.

The pourability and flavorless quality of this product make it very versatile, so it’s easy to get creative with its uses, which isn’t always the case for coconut or other MCT oils.

Does Brain Octane Oil Work?

At the risk of sounding like a magic 8 ball, signs point to yes. A whopping three thousand reviewers on Bulletproof’s website attest to its effectiveness, with 2,700 of those being five-star. The same goes for Amazon—67% five-star ratings with an overall 4.3 out of 5 stars.

Again, that doesn’t mean it will work for everyone because nothing does. But when the majority of users claim at least one of the benefits, it’s hard to deny. Customers with epilepsy, brain injuries, lupus, and even dogs have benefited from Brain Octane Oil.

Of course, we don’t rely solely on customer reviews when making our analysis. We rely on science and experience.

We know that MCT oils are effective for increasing energy levels (especially when you are on a low carb diet) and Brain Octane Oil is the highest caliber MCT oil.

Who Is Brain Octane Oil Best For?

Those who are on or are planning to be on the keto diet or another low-carb diet will benefit the most from this supplement. Not only does the oil jump-start ketosis and help you stay there, but it will also multiply the fat-burning properties that a low-carb diet already gives you.

This product is exceptionally good for keto dieters because it is a fatty substance (100% fat). When you follow the keto diet, your body starts burning fat instead of carbs. You become fat-adapted and the fat you eat is better processed.

To be fair, Brain Octane Oil would probably help you lose weight even if you were not on a low-carb diet; however, the results would be reduced. Using this supplement with a regular diet will definitely still give you the brain-boosting and focus benefits you’d miss out on without taking any MCT oil, so there’s really no downside.

If you practice intermittent fasting, Brain Octane Oil also helps you stay in the fasted state and reduces cravings, so you may not even realize you’re still fasting. Always a bonus.

So it all depends on your goals and lifestyle, but if you’re intermittently fasting or going low-carb, Brain Octane is ideal for you.

Is Brain Octane Oil Safe?

Just as with everything, there is always a chance that a few people will experience a rare side effect, such as stomach upset or an allergic reaction. According to the reviews, a few have experienced symptoms like nausea or diarrhea. This is not the norm, however, and most customers can process the oil just fine.

Perhaps for those with sensitive stomachs who want to try Brain Octane Oil, it would be best to start out with a low dose and increase it gradually.

Studies

While specific studies may not have been one on Brain Octane Oil yet, there have certainly been studies done on coconut oil and MCT oil. And if MCT oil and coconut oil have been proven to help boost weight loss (which they have), then logic suggests that Brain Octane Oil will as well.

In fact, in one study specific to Alzheimer’s disease, it was found that MCTs increased brain energy metabolism in Alzheimer’s patients to the same as in healthy young adults. The conclusion was that MCT ketones balance out the brain glucose deficit created by Alzheimer’s, so it’s safe to say that MCTs have a positive effect on the body.

Regardless, unless you’re one of the sensitive few, the supercharged MCTs in Brain Octane Oil can only do more good than harm.

Where to Buy Brain Octane Oil—and its Cost

Bulletproof’s website is the primary retailer of Brain Octane Oil, but there are several options. A store locator function on their website produces several grocery, drug, and health food stores in the immediate area that carry it. Surprisingly, even Target and Walmart evidently have it in stock.

Then there’s always Amazon, of course, although a few claim to have received knock-off bottles. To be sure to avoid fakery, go straight to the source. The price is the same on both sites: $24.95 for a 16-oz. bottle, $48.95 for a 32-oz
