Aloha Protein Powder Review

What Is Aloha Protein Powder?

Aloha is a plant-based and organic protein powder company. Their protein powder is vegan, soy-free, dairy-free, gluten-free, and stevia free. It comes in two flavors as well- chocolate and vanilla. Every ingredient in Aloha Protein Powder is organic, and each 2-scoop serving contains only 120 calories and 18 grams of plant-based protein. Its protein blend includes sources like pumpkin seeds, brown rice, and hemp seeds.

Aloha isn’t the only organic protein powder out there, though. There are others, such as IdealRaw and Purely Inspired Organic Protein, so how does Aloha Protein Powder truly measure up? This protein powder is supposedly pretty tasty, but let’s take a closer look and see if it’s really worth the money in this Aloha Protein Powder review.

Aloha Organic Protein Powder Benefits

100% Organic

All of the ingredients in Aloha’s protein powder are entirely organic. This can be quite difficult to have in a product, especially a protein powder. Each ingredient measures up to a set of strict guidelines, giving the protein powders the top-shelf USDA Organic seal of approval.

Great Source Of Plant-Based Protein

The Aloha protein powders are packed with 18 grams of plant-based protein per serving. The protein sources are brown rice, hemp seeds, pumpkin seeds, and peas. For those who follow a vegan or vegetarian diet, this is a great protein powder option as it packs a lot of protein with minimal calories and ingredients. Plant-based protein is actually quite healthier for you than animal-based protein, especially as many of these protein sources provide a wide array of vitamins and nutrients.

Stevia And Artificial Sweetener Free

If you have ever investigated a protein powder’s ingredients, it almost always has stevia or sugar alcohol as the sweetener. This can cause a lot of gastrointestinal issues like constipation, diarrhea, bloating, and gas. Aloha protein powers use monk fruit extract and coconut sugar as the organic sweetener sources. These sweeteners are free of sugar, alcohol, and harmful chemicals. Monk fruit is also less sweet than stevia and overall less harmful and harsh on your stomach.

Aloha Protein Powder Ingredients

The main ingredient in this protein powder is a plant-based protein blend. This plant-based protein blend is sourced from pea protein, hemp protein, brown rice protein, and pumpkin seed protein. This protein blend contributes 18 grams of vegan protein per serving (higher than other comparable shakes like ProPlant). Plant-based protein is much healthier for you as it contributes less LDL (bad) cholesterol than animal protein. This bad cholesterol can clog arteries and ultimately lead to heart disease. These protein sources also contribute more fiber and micronutrients.

The Aloha protein powders also contain MCTs or medium-chain triglycerides. MCTs are fatty acids derived from coconuts. These fatty acids are often studied for their role in weight loss and weight management. They are also often recognized for their ability to boost fitness performance, endurance levels, and overall energy. These protein powders also contain acacia fiber. This fiber can help manage symptoms relating to diabetes, IBS, and high cholesterol.

The Aloha protein powders also contain monk fruit extract and coconut sugar as the sweeteners. Monk fruit extract is supposedly less sweet and less harsh on your stomach than stevia. It is also free of sugar alcohols, which wreak havoc on your digestive system. Coconut sugar is also a clean and organic sweetener option, although you should moderate your intake of this sugar. Per two-scoop serving, there is only 3 grams of sugar.

The vanilla flavor of the protein powder contains ground vanilla beans, and the chocolate contains cocoa powder. This is great as most protein powders contain “natural flavors,” which can be harsh on your stomach as well.

Is Aloha Organic Protein Powder Really Healthy?

Aloha’s protein powders are actually pretty healthy. The ingredients are all organic, and the ingredient list is not as long as other protein powders on the market. The sweetener sources are also great, especially given that there are no artificial sweeteners or sugar alcohols. Many people don’t realize how harmful some of these standard ingredients can be on our gastrointestinal systems, so this is great that Aloha omitted them.

Who Should Use Aloha Protein Powder?

Aloha protein powders are safe for consumption for really anyone. They are free of the top allergens, including soy, gluten, and dairy. The powders are also sugar-alcohol free, which is beneficial for those individuals with gastrointestinal issues. This is also a great protein option for plant-based eaters, especially vegans or vegetarians. If you’re looking for a clean plant-based protein option, this is a great product. However, there are protein powders on the market with more protein per serving; they just may have more harmful ingredients.

Is Aloha Organic Protein Powder Safe?

The Aloha protein powders are safe for consumption. The powders are free of the top allergens and not harsh on your stomach, especially when compared to other protein powders out there.  However, if you are allergic to coconut, this product does contain MCTs from coconut sources. Also, although monk fruit and coconut sugar are good sweetener options, be mindful of your intake of them, especially if you struggle with diabetes or if you are monitoring your blood sugar levels.

Aloha Protein Powder Alternatives

Instead of consuming protein powder, dietary sources of protein are much more available and absorbable in our bodies. The following are great plant-based protein options you can incorporate into your diet:
