Zendaya Coleman was born in Oakland, California. Her name means ‘to give thanks’ in the Shona language. She joined a dance group as a child and studied acting at the American Conservatory Theatre. Zendaya was a child model for stores like Macy’s and a backup dancer before landing a role on the Disney Channel’s Shake It Up. Her film debut was in 2017 in Spider-Man: Homecoming, and the same year she also played in The Greatest Showman. She appeared on season 16 of Dancing With the Stars. Zendaya has released several singles and a full album that went platinum. She was named one of the best dressed women of 2018 by Net-a-Porter. Zendaya launched a line of clothing called Daya and has written a book giving style advice to tweens called  Between U and Me. She is an ambassador for Convoy for Hope, and has over 66 million followers on Instagram alone. Zendaya is 5 feet, 10 inches tall and weighs about 130 lbs.
