Nina Dobrev Workout and Diet
Nina Dobrev is the stage name of Bulgarian-born Nikolina Kamenova Dobreva. Her family moved to Toronto, Canada when she was 2 years old. She studied dance, rhythmic gymnastics and acting while growing up, and majored in sociology in college, but dropped out to pursue her acting career. She was cast on Degrassi: The Next Generation in 2006, then left the show in 2009 to star in The Vampire Diaries. Dobrev has been nominated for and won several awards including Teen Choice and People’s Choice. She has also taken roles in a few feature films.Dobrev is a brand ambassador for Dior and an active volunteer for charities including breast cancer, hunger, AIDS research and the youth organization called WE. Dobrev has millions of followers on social media. She is 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weighs about 120 lbs.
Nina Dobrev’s Diet
Dobrev does not like to feel hungry and prefers to eat several smaller meals rather than 3 bigger ones. She has tried various diets including vegan and low carb but found that clean eating works best for her. While she loves to eat, she is a disciplined eater and uses a few simple measurements to keep her portions under control. The fat shouldn’t be bigger than her thumb, the protein should be about the size of her palm, and she can have all the vegetables she wants. She sticks to wholesome, natural foods and avoids processed ones. She does not avoid carbs, fat, or any other category, but rather eats sensibly. She’ll get her protein in the form of fish, chicken, nuts and seeds, healthy fats from things like avocados, cheese and olive oil, and carbs from things like sweet potatoes, fruit, and whole-grain rice. She also eats a lot of salad which provides fiber and micronutrients.

Bring On the Breakfast
Dobrev believes a healthy breakfast is the right way to start the day and will usually make a smoothie from greens, coconut butter, fruit and protein powder.
Dobrev often has a hearty salad for lunch with greens, avocado and fish. She enjoys cooking, but if she is having dinner out, she’ll still stick to healthy options like a harvest bowl containing roast chicken, sweet potatoes, wild rice and goat cheese.
Dobrev keeps things like nuts, fruit and other healthy options in her bag so in case she gets hit with a hunger pang, she doesn’t have to compromise her diet.
Dobrev says if you’re watching your weight that alcohol needs to go. She doesn’t drink much at all, but does a lot of juicing.
Dobrev prefers to prepare her own meals, and she and her friends will often pick recipes out of a cookbook and make them together.
Dobrev says she compiled a ‘bucket list’ of restaurants she wants to eat her way through. One of her favorite foods is truffles.

Nina Dobrev’s Fitness Routine
Weekly Workout Routine
Exercise has been part of Dobrev’s life since the beginning. She competed in gymnastics and also took dance lessons, often spending 4+ hours a day at the gym.
Dobrev tries to break a sweat every day, but it doesn’t have to be a formal workout. She makes a point to vary the routine. She might do strength training, yoga, HIIT or go for a run. She usually works out early so life doesn’t get in the way.

Dobrev likes to take classes with friends, and music helps her get in the groove.

Dobrev does different routines to keep from getting bored, and also to improve in different areas, including cardio, strength and flexibility.
Long & Strong
Dobrev says she used to feel ‘skinny fat’ but once she added strength training, it really changed her whole body.
Dobrev says she loves yoga and finds it rejuvenating and allows her to be in the present moment, as well as maintain and improve her posture, core strength and flexibility.
Although she’ll still go for an occasional run, these days, Dobrev prefers strength training and high-intensity interval training (HIIT). She’s a fan of Les Mills.
Dobrev used to run regularly when she was on Vampire Diaries, but she also likes cycling, swimming and other types of cardio, including volleyball. She had them build a volleyball court on set so she could play during break time.
