Marie Osmond is the 8th of 9 children in the Osmond family and the only girl. From an early, the Osmonds sang and performed, and Marie her first appearance on The Andy Williams Show when she was only 4. In the early 1970s, she teamed up with her brother Donny to record an album. She also began to make more appearances with her other brothers. Marie Osmond had solo success with her country music style, as well as on TV with the variety show Donny & Marie. She and her brother had a second talk show by the same name from 1998-2000. Marie has acted on Broadway, in film, in Vegas, authored 3 best-selling books and was co-founder of the Children’s Miracle Network. She also designs dolls, has an embroidery machine line and does other crafts. Osmond’s weight has fluctuated through the decades. When she was 14 and weighed just 110 lbs., she says the producers of the Donny & Marie Show told her she had to lose weight, and she wound up struggling with starvation and bulimia for years. After having her 3rd child, she gained weight and peaked at 165 lbs. She says heart disease runs in her family and she was afraid she was headed the same way as her mother. She chronicled her weight loss publicly, dropping about 50 lbs. by doing NutriSystem. Because the NutriSystem plan involves buying their food, you don’t have to count calories, carbs or even portion sizes. You are however allowed to supplement with fresh fruit and vegetables from the grocery store.
