Flora Probiotic Review

Over the last couple of years, the importance of gut health has become more and more popular. Science and research have concluded that we should take care of our gut health the same way we take care of other areas of our health. Gut health is just as impactful as other areas of our bodily systems (for better or worse) – yes, gut health goes beyond your stomach and it can affect other areas of your body such as metabolism, skin health, cognitive functions, mood, and many more!

One primary way of taking care of your gut is by taking probiotics. Probiotics are live organisms that add to the good bacterial population living in your gut. These bacteria contribute to the health and well-being of your gut, so taking care of them, and adding their population by consuming probiotics, is important to keep your gut health in shape.

Now, the question is: where will you get your probiotics? One way is by getting them through food sources – you can mostly find probiotics in fermented foods like yogurt, sauerkraut, and kimchi.

However, not all probiotics are made equal. While these food sources are usually good sources, they may or may not address your specific probiotic needs – yes, we have our own probiotic needs which are why, for example, our body may react differently even if we consume the same exact type of probiotics.

It is for this reason that probiotic supplements are made! Probiotic supplements not only aim to provide us a sufficient amount of probiotics, but each supplement is made to tailor specific probiotic needs of a particular group of people (it can be based on gender, body stats, age, lifestyle, etc.).

Adult’s Probiotic from Flora is no different. This probiotic supplement aims to address a specific probiotic need which we will discuss later on. There are tons of probiotic choices out there though, such as Culturelle Probiotics, Physician’s Choice Probiotic, and Probulin. So to help you make your decision, in this article we will review Flora Probiotic and their Adult’s Probiotic supplement. We will go over the pros, cons, price, where to buy, and, most importantly, whether or not it’s worth your money. But before that, let’s go first to the basics of supplements review – let’s try to see if the supplement even works or not.

Flora Adult’s Probiotic

About Flora Adult’s Probiotic

Adult’s Probiotic is a product of Flora, a Canada-based company with an HQ in the United States that sells whole food supplements.

As its name suggests, Adult’s Probiotic is a probiotic supplement made for adults, especially adults aged from 19 to 54. Adult’s Probiotic delivers around 17 billion CFU, 10 billion CFU by the day of expiration.

Adult’s Probiotic is gluten-free, vegetarian, and its formula is truly based on science-based data.

The next question is: does this supplement work? While we cannot really find it out for sure unless we tried, we can see the possibility of a supplement’s potential (or lack of) by reading and understanding its label. The label can give us a clue on whether the supplement may work or not, so let’s just go and check it out!

Flora Adult’s Probiotic Ingredients

The ingredients of Adult’s Probiotic are very simple. Its main ingredients are made up of 6 main probiotic strains:

  • Lactobacillus casei HA-108
  • Lactobacillus rhamnosus HA-111
  • Lactobacillus acidophilus HA-122
  • Lactobacillus plantarum HA-119
  • Bifidobacterium bifidum HA-132
  • Bifidobacterium breve HA-129

Flora Adult’s Probiotic Supplement Facts

These probiotic strains have their own benefits for our gut or digestive system or other parts of our body. These 6 strands are specifically human-adapted strains of live probiotics with the highest survival and colonization rates. They also do not include transient strains, which is beneficial for everyone.

Not only do these probiotic strains help improve the gut biome, but they also help make vitamin B and vitamin K in humans, as well as short-chain fatty acids.

Furthermore, they help break down cholesterol and toxins in our bowels. This is a great addition to your daily routine if you have issues with digestion.

The health of the gut biome, which is frequently referred to as “the second brain” by scientists and doctors, also plays a large role in many other body functions. It impacts the liver, brain, our immune systems, and even your body’s weight management functions.

Because Adult’s Probiotic is entirely made up of probiotics, it means that this supplement works – how it will work to different people will depend because, as mentioned earlier, we may react differently to an exact same probiotic supplement.

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Flora Probiotic

Below are some of the points (pros) and lack of points (cons) of Adult’s Probiotic based on what we have seen.

Flora Adult’s Probiotic Capsules

The number one point for Adult’s Probiotic is a simple fact that this supplement will mostly work. Its ingredients section is very simple – mostly containing probiotic strains – so it will most likely work and be an effective probiotic supplement.

I also like the fact that Adult’s Probiotic is relatively inexpensive – priced at $22.49 and $41.99 for their 60-capsule bottle and 120-capsule bottle, respectively. If you choose to subscribe, you can even get a 10% discount.

Lastly, if you are a vegetarian and you don’t like gluten, Adult’s Probiotic may work for you.

To be honest, we do not really see any negative or downside on Adult’s Probiotic. Of course, we can point out that this supplement may not work for everybody, but as already mentioned above, how we react to probiotic supplements also depends on our body – it’s not necessarily the supplement’s fault. If we reacted negatively to Adult’s Probiotic, it could simply mean that we need another supplement.

Is Flora Adult’s Probiotic Safe?

As a probiotic supplement, we can expect possible side effects which are usually related to the gut or digestive system. Hence, we may experience side effects such as diarrhea, constipation, and other stomach or digestive problems.

Again, how we react to the supplement depends on our individual physiological state and needs. If we reacted badly, it could be that the probiotic supplement is simply not for us. But even if the supplement works well for you, you may still experience these side effects, often on a lower scale, because it affects your gut.

Should You Buy Flora Adult’s Probiotic?

Adult’s Probiotic is a pretty simple and straightforward product, which is one of the reasons why we love it. The product contains 6 probiotic strains (and a few more ingredients that make up the capsule casing) and nothing else. If you think that an Adult’s Probiotic can address your probiotic needs, it will certainly not hurt to try.

If you want to know what other people say about Adult’s Probiotic, the current Amazon review is mainly positive – 4.5 out of 5-star ratings from 179 ratings as of this writing.

Where To Buy Flora Adult’s Probiotic

So, if you want to go buy and try out Flora Adult’s Probiotic, you can check it out on their official store! It costs $22 for 60 capsules, which is a good deal when compared to other probiotic blends.
