diosyme probiotic+ review

Probiotic supplements are all the rage lately, with many doctors, health organizations, and others touting their benefits. Yet, not all probiotic supplements are created equal, and the precise benefits you get from a given supplement can vary widely depending on the quality and specific type of probiotic strains in the product.

So, that’s why we’re going to take a closer look at one specific option, Dioxyme Probiotic+. Does this unique probiotic supplement measure up? Does it have the right ingredients? We’ll discuss all of that and more in this Dioxyme Probiotic+ review.

Let’s get started!

About Dioxyme Probiotic+

Dioxyme Probiotic+ is a gut health supplement produced by health and wellness company, Dioxyme. Dioxyme, the same producer as Dioxyme Brain, aim to produce high-quality supplements to meet your health needs. Dioxyme Probiotic+ is a unique gut health supplement in that it’s specifically designed for athletes. In addition to probiotics, it offers additional ingredients that are designed to mitigate gut stress that comes specifically from exercise, thereby optimizing gut health for athletes and improving performance.

Dioxyme Probiotic+ Benefits

There are many different benefits that athletes are supposed to get from Dioxyme Probiotic+, mainly:

  • Better recovery
  • Better gut health and function
  • Improved immunity
  • Better nutrient absorption
  • Cardiovascular support
  • Hormonal and sexual health

Stronger and Healthier Gut

Dioxyme Probiotic+ includes probiotics and zinc carnosine which are designed to promote overall gut health and maintain gut barrier function. The inclusion of prebiotics also further serves to create a healthy microbiome.

Better Recovery

Optimizing the gut microbiome is also supposed to decrease inflammation and oxidative stress, which is likely why Dioxyme Probiotic+ claims to improve athletic/exercise recovery.

Improved Immunity

Since the gut is so tightly linked with the immune system, Dioxyme Probiotic+ is advertised to increase immunity by providing the gut with a number of good bacteria strains that can often be depleted from intense training.

Better Nutrient Absorption

Without a healthy gut, you can’t properly absorb and assimilate food, so it’s no surprise here that this product also claims to enhance nutrient absorption by strengthening the overall health and function of the gut.

Cardiovascular Support

Dioxyme Probiotic+ also claims to support cardiovascular health by regulating fat and cholesterol levels through overall gut health as well as metabolism.

Hormonal and Sexual Health

Finally, Dioxyme Probiotic+ is designed to increase hormonal and sexual health for both men and women. For men, this supplement is designed to manage cortisol and testosterone levels, and for women, it is designed to support vaginal health and urinary tract health.

So, there is quite an array of proposed benefits. But which, if any, are likely to come true? Read on to find out.

Dioxyme Probiotc+ Ingredients

Dioxyme Probiotic+ comes in capsule form. Below is what’s in each serving of Dioxyme Probiotic+ (2 capsules):

  • Probiotic Gut Bacteria Blend (50 Billion CFU)
  • Zinc Carnosine (75mg, yielding 16mg zinc)
  • Inulin (100mg)

Probiotic Gut Bacteria Blend

The first ingredient in Dioxyme Probiotic+ is the Probiotic Gut Bacteria Blend, which consists of 10 different strains of bacterium, all of which are either lactobacilli or bifidobacterial-based. In total, there are 50 billion colony-forming units (CFU), so it is quite high in total probiotic count.

Probiotics are good bacteria that reside in the gastrointestinal (GI) system and they are vital for overall human health. Basically, having a healthy balance of good bacteria is vital for gut health, which in turn influences immune system health, brain health, energy, and more, given the relationship between the gut and the rest of the body. And intense exercise can cause fluctuations in gut bacteria, immunity deprivation, chronic stress, and other things that negatively affect the gut, which can affect performance.

Fortunately, a large body of research shows that probiotic supplementation provides a number of gut health benefits specific for athletes. For example, probiotics can help enhance nutrient absorption, such as amino acids from protein; promote a healthy immune system; improve gut barrier integrity; and decrease inflammation from muscle damage. Furthermore, probiotic supplementation may help increase body composition, hormonal profiles, and even mood in high-intensity athletes.

Zinc Carnosine

The next ingredient is zinc carnosine. Zinc carnosine is able to stabilize gut mucosa, which in turn can help increase gut barrier integrity. This is important because intense exercise can often put a strain on the gut and cause leaky gut syndrome, which leads to a number of other issues. While research in athletes is limited, some show that zinc carnosine supplementation can increase gut barrier lining and therefore protect against exercise-induced gut damage.

The final ingredient in Dioxyme Probiotic+ is inulin, which is a type of fiber and acts as a prebiotic. In brief, prebiotics are what probiotics feed on, so they are necessary to increase the overall health of the good bacteria. Research shows that inulin supplementation can increase the presence of various probiotics, notably Bifidobacterium and lactobacillum, which are the strains included in Dioxyme Probiotic+. The typical dosage of inulin is 5 to 20 grams per day.

Does Dioxyme Probiotc+ Work?

Overall, it is likely that Dioxyme Probiotic+ will be an effective gut health supplement for athletes. Probiotic supplementation has a lot of research behind it, and there is a lot of research showing the specific benefits they confer for athletes, including reduced inflammation, better recovery, improved body composition, and greater nutrient absorption. Also, the inclusion of zinc carnosine should further add gut protection for athletes, although research is limited. Lastly, inulin is a very effective prebiotic, but the dosage that’s in Dioxyme Probitoc+ is far below the recommended dose, so users may not get as much of a benefit from it.

Claims vs. Reality

There are many benefits advertised by Dioxyme Probiotic+, and honestly, most of them should occur at least at some level. There was a large review conducted on probiotic supplementation in athletes, which showed they are able to offer the very same benefits claimed by the makers of Dioxyme Probiotic+. However, keep in mind that research is still relatively new in this field, so it’s not always guaranteed that it will work. Plus, every athlete is different in terms of training demands, body composition, internal health, stress level, and many other factors that may affect the degree to which Dioxyme Probiotic+ will work. It is safe to say, however, that nearly all users should experience at least some benefits for inflammation, gut health, recovery, hormonal health, nutrient absorption, and so on.

Who is Dioxyme Probiotic+ Best For?

Dioxyme Probiotic+ is marketed towards athletes, but in reality, anyone at risk of a compromised gut could benefit from this product. The inclusion of zinc carnosine does tailor it slightly towards athletes, but anyone who faces a highly demanding or stressful lifestyle, be that physical and/or mental, could benefit from Dioxyme Probiotic+.

Is Dioxyme Probiotic+ Safe?

The main side effects of Dioxyme Probiotic+ are GI-related, such as nausea, bloating, stomach cramps, constipation, and diarrhea. Since you’re introducing a significant number of good bacteria into your gut, it could take a while before your body adjusts to its new (and almost certainly better) gut microbiome content.
