Leaky Gut Revive Review

There’s certainly no shortage of gut health supplements these days. But the term “gut health” is actually a very broad category. And there can be quite a difference between gut health supplements in terms of their ingredients and what benefits they may have.

And as a health practitioner and researcher, I want to help clarify things for you so you can know exactly what you need to about a particular supplement, and if it’s right for your goals and needs.

So, in this Leaky Gut Revive review, I’m going to go over all aspects of this product – from ingredients to benefits, to pricing, and more – in order to see if this gut supplement is worth looking into.

About Amy Myers MD

Leaky Gut Revive is made by Amy Myers MD, a company with many other supplements such as probiotics, protein, multivitamins, omega-3s, liposomal curcumin, collagen protein, and supplement kits, among others.

The woman behind it is, unsurprisingly, Amy Myers, a medical doctor and functional medicine physician, as well as a bestselling author.

She formulates most of the supplements herself, focusing on research-backed ingredients and science-based dosages.

What is Leaky Gut Revive?

Leaky Gut Revive is one of Amy Myers MD’s main gut health supplements. It contains a blend of nutrients and herbs to soothe, heal, and repair the gut quickly, especially with regard to leaky gut syndrome (which I’ll touch on a bit later).

The various ingredients in Leaky Gut Revive, such as glutamine, marshmallow root, and slippery elm, are designed to boost your gut bacteria, repair the gut lining, and enhance digestion, to name a few.

Plus, Leaky Gut Revive comes in an unflavored powder form, so it is easy to mix into your favorite beverages and smoothies.

Leaky Gut Revive Benefits

There are many advertised benefits of Leaky Gut Revive, all of which relate to optimizing gut health and minimizing leaky gut syndrome.

Leaky gut syndrome is when the intestinal lining becomes too permeable. And this means that harmful substances can pass through and enter the bloodstream, which may cause negative side effects, including food sensitivities, skin problems, and poor cognitive function.

So, while all benefits generally relate to improving leaky gut, here are the specific benefits claimed by Amy Myers MD

  • Reduced Bloating
  • Improved Digestion
  • Restored Gut Lining
  • Soothing for Stomach and Intestines
  • Strengthened Gut Mucosa
  • Gut Cell Regeneration

Reduced Bloating

Bloating can be a very uncomfortable experience. And it can be triggered by many different foods if you have a poorly-functioning gut.

But Leaky Gut Revive claims to reduce bloating by restoring gut health with the various nutrients in it, leading to a healthier and more comfortable stomach.

Improved Digestion

If you ever have dealt with gas, diarrhea, or irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), these symptoms can be not only uncomfortable but embarrassing too.

Fortunately, Leaky Gut Revive is advertised to improve digestion and regularity with prebiotic fibers and other ingredients, so you can experience healthier bowel movements and fewer embarrassing symptoms.

Restored Gut Lining

Many factors can impair the gut lining, such as stress, allergens, and toxins. And this may lead to an increased risk of harmful substances entering the bloodstream and body, which can affect your immunity, cognition, and much more.

But Leaky Gut Revive is designed to put a stop to all of that by repairing the gut lining and strengthening the intestinal barrier.

Soothing for Stomach and Intestines

Another common problem today is just a feeling of inflammation and discomfort in the stomach area. And sometimes, this can be hard to pinpoint, although it may have to do with a lack of probiotics and prebiotics.

And Leaky Gut Revive claims to increase the number of beneficial bacteria in your gut, which may also produce substances that help heal, protect, and soothe your stomach and intestinal lining.

Strengthened Gut Mucosa

If your gut mucosa is weakened, you have a higher likelihood of gut dysfunction and a weakened digestive system.

But Leaky Gut Revive uses key ingredients, such as slippery elm and marshmallow, which they say will repair and enhance the gut mucosal lining. And this may increase overall gut health.

Gut Cell Regeneration

Gut cells are critical, especially since they only form a one-cell layer on the lining of your gut. And if the body isn’t able to regenerate these cells, it can lead to leaky gut and other problems.

Fortunately, Leaky Gut Revive is advertised to nourish and support gut cell regeneration with ingredients such as glutamine

Overall, Leaky Gut Revive claims to offer quite an array of benefits for gut health. But how does it actually stack up against the evidence? Read on to find out.

Leaky Gut Revive Ingredients

The Leaky Gut Revive formulation includes a variety of herbal substances and other compounds. Here are the specific ingredients in Leaky Gut Revive:

  • L-Glutamine
  • Larch Arabinogalactan
  • Marshmallow Root Powder
  • Licorice Root Powder
  • Slippery Elm Bark Powder
  • Aloe vera Leaf Powder

L-Glutamine

Glutamine is an amino acid found in high amounts in whey and casein protein, as well as meat and eggs.

One of the unique aspects of glutamine is that it’s the preferred fuel source for intestinal and immune system cells. So, the gut/intestines and immune system require glutamine for optimal function.

Glutamine has been shown to optimize the gut microbiota, strengthen the intestinal lining, and reduce gut inflammation.

Recommended dosage: Typically at least 5g

Larch Arabinogalactan

Larch arabinogalactan is a starch-like compound found in the bark and wood of the Larch tree.

It essentially acts as a prebiotic fiber. And it has been shown to increase the number of healthy bacteria in the gut while decreasing the bad ones.

Plus, larch arabinogalactan may be able to stimulate the production of fatty acids that are important to gut health and strength as well as gut barrier function.

With these benefits, it’s no surprise that it’s in other gut formulas too, such as Bulletproof InnerFuel Prebiotic.

Recommended dosage: At least 1.5g up to 15g or more in some cases

Marshmallow Root Powder

Marshmallow root (not the sweet treat!) is an herbal medicine used for a number of ailments.

Research has shown that the mucilage content of marshmallow root may help coat and repair the digestive lining, which may also reduce inflammation and irritation. On top of that, marshmallow root may aid overall digestion.

Recommended dosage: N/A

Licorice Root Powder

Licorice root (yet another ingredient not to be confused with the candy) is another herbal substance with a few health benefits. (And it’s also in a number of gut support supplements, such as Multi-GI 5)

In regard to gut health, licorice root has been shown in some instances to coat the gut lining, much like marshmallow root, which may offer anti-inflammatory and digestion-enhancing effects.

Plus, licorice root may decrease bloating, reduce heartburn and ulcers, and manage diarrhea and stomach pain.

Recommended dosage: Around 150 to 300mg

Slippery Elm Bark Powder

Slippery elm bark is yet another herbal substance. Aside from having a unique name, slippery elm bark seems to have some health benefits, especially for the gut.

Specifically, slippery elm has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties in the gut that can reduce symptoms of IBS and other digestive problems. This is likely due to the “coating” action that also is seen with licorice and marshmallow.

Additionally, slippery elm appears to increase the number of probiotics and beneficial fatty acids in the gut, which would likely benefit overall gut health and digestion.

Recommended dosage: N/A

Aloe Vera Leaf Powder

The final ingredient in Leaky Gut Revive is aloe vera leaf powder. And aloe vera is another herbal compound with a number of benefits for gut health.

There is evidence that aloe vera can reduce ulcers and symptoms of IBS. And it also increases gastrointestinal (GI) motility, which is essentially the process of food moving through the digestive tract.

Aloe vera also has anti-inflammatory effects and may help with constipation too.

Recommended dosage: N/A

Does Leaky Gut Revive Work?

It seems likely that Leaky Gut Revive will work as a gut health supplement.

leaky gut revive supplements

Not everyone will experience the same benefits, but Leaky Gut Revive does seem to be well-researched and well-formulated.

All of the ingredients are known to benefit many areas of gut/digestive health. And most of these have solid research behind them, especially glutamine, arabinogalactan, and aloe.

I’d like to see more clinical research studies done, but there is still a solid amount of evidence overall.

Also, the dosages are a concern in Leaky Gut Revive. First, glutamine is dosed too low. And second, the other ingredients are in a proprietary blend, so I can’t see how much of each ingredient is in there. This makes it harder to tell how effective it will be, unlike supplements such as GutMD that list out all of the dosages.

Claims vs. Reality

The ingredients in Leaky Gut Revive are all shown to offer numerous benefits for gut health.

And while I can’t guarantee anything, Leaky Gut Revive should be able to support a number of factors in gut health.

Specifically, Leaky Gut Revive may help increase healthy gut bacteria, restore the gut/intestine lining, improve digestion, reduce bloating and IBS, and support gut cell health and function.

So, as a whole, most of the claims by Amy Myers MD are supported by research. But keep in mind that these aren’t guaranteed results, just possible benefits. And it’s unclear whether the lower dosages in Leaky Gut Revive will lead to as many benefits as seen in research.

Who is Leaky Gut Revive Best For?

Leaky Gut Revive is best for anyone who wants to restore (or maintain) their gut health and reduce the risk of leaky gut syndrome.

Also, based on the lower dosages, I recommend at least considering a double dose.

As always, consult your doctor or healthcare practitioner before taking any supplement.

Is Leaky Gut Revive Safe?

All of the ingredients in Leaky Gut Revive are generally recognized as safe. However, some people may experience side effects when starting out as their gut adjusts. This may cause upset stomach, bloating, and gas, all of which should likely go away after continued use.

Final Verdict: Leaky Gut Revive Review

Well, that’s the end of this Leaky Gut Revive review.

And among the hundreds of gut health supplements out there, I like what I see from Leaky Gut Revive.

The main concern is its low dosages. But the ingredients are all well-researched, high-quality, and proven to offer many benefits for your gut and digestive health.

Gut symptoms can be uncomfortable, distressing, and embarrassing. And you must get to the root cause of these in order to truly manage these symptoms and get back to feeling your best.
