Athletic Greens Vs. Organifi – Which Greens Powder Is Better?

If you spend any time on social media, chances are you’ve come across videos of greens powders. They’ve recently skyrocketed in popularity, and for good reason. Greens powder is known for being rich in different nutrients because it is made up of vegetables, fruits, nuts, seeds, and other plants. But just like any other supplement, not all greens powders are made equal.

In this article, we are going to compare two green powder giants, Athletic Greens and Organifi. We are going to discuss what they are, what they are made of (ingredients), their benefits, customer reviews, and their price value. In the end, we will discuss which of them is the better greens powder.

So, without further ado, let’s get started!

Green Powder

What is Greens Powder?

First of all, what exactly is green powder? Simply put, greens powders are a dietary supplement that is made up of dried vegetables, fruits, nuts, seeds, and other plants such as mushrooms. Since they are powder, you can mix these supplements into a liquid such as water or add them to your smoothie.

Since greens powders are made up of different plants such as fruits and vegetables, they are mostly rich in nutrients and other healthy compounds such as antioxidants. They’re a great addition to your daily diet, as they can fill nutrient gaps.

Greens For Green Powder

That being said, different greens powders will vary depending on the ingredients used and the integrity of the company’s work ethic (e.g. if the supplement is really “organic” and “all-natural” or it is falsely labeled). Therefore, it is very important to get to know the brand just as you get to know the overall features of a supplement. For this one, let’s start off with Athletic Greens.

About Athletic Greens

It also does not contain any GMO and other ingredients such as gluten, dairy, lactose, egg, peanuts, and any animal products. It is also free from harmful chemicals such as pesticides and herbicides.

About Organifi

Organifi Green Powder

Organifi Green Juice is a greens powder that contains some of the “premium nourishing superfoods” which you can drink “in one glass.” Organifi’s main goal is to provide nourishment for your body by providing vital nutrients as well as to support your body’s immunity to protect you from illnesses and keep your body strong.

Organifi is soy-free, gluten-free, dairy-free, and this greens powder is suitable for the vegan diet.

Athletic Greens Ingredients

Now, let’s go to the ingredient section and let’s check the ingredients of Athletic Greens and Organifi. Let’s start with Athletic Greens.

Nutrient-wise, Athletic Greens is very rich – as mentioned above, it contains 75 different nutrients! Here are some of the vitamins and minerals that you can get from Athletic Greens: Vitamins A, C, E, B-vitamin complex, calcium, magnesium, zinc, and potassium.

Athletic Greens Supplement Facts

The ingredients of Athletic Greens is grouped into three groups:

Alkaline, Nutrient-Dense Raw Superfood Complex – this group focuses on providing the different vitamins and minerals for your body. Some of its notable ingredients are spirulina and chlorella.

Nutrient-Dense Extracts, Herbs, and Antioxidants – this group focuses on providing antioxidants and more nutrients coming from herbs. Some of the notable herbs in this group are milk thistle, artichoke leaf, and rosemary.

Digestive Enzyme & Super Mushroom Complex – as the name suggests, it provides digestive enzymes, enzymes your body needs to digest and break down foods and compounds that you consume. It also contains some mushrooms such as Reishi and Shiitake mushrooms.

Organifi Ingredients

Nutrient-wise, unlike Athletic Greens, Organifi is not that rich in vitamins and minerals. According to its label, it only contains the minerals iron, calcium, and sodium. I am quite in disbelief of this because Organifi is made up of different herbs, so it must contain more nutrients than that. But for this purpose, since the label states that, let’s just leave it at that. But don’t leave Organifi yet – the interesting part comes in when you see the ingredients used in it!

The main superfood ingredients used in Organifi are ashwagandha, wheatgrass, turmeric, Moringa, chlorella, spirulina, beet, coconut water, mint, matcha green tea, lemon, and monk fruit.

Organifi Supplement Facts

For me, the most notable ingredients of Organifi are ashwagandha, moringa, and matcha green tea. Ashwagandha is known for its potent benefits and it is used since Ayurvedic medicine; Moringa is a superfood that contains around 25% of protein (something that’s highly unusual for a plant), and matcha is well-known for its various health benefits!

Athletic Greens vs. Organifi: Comparing The Benefits

Since Athletic Greens and Organifi are both greens powders, they naturally would contain high amounts of nutrients such as vitamins and minerals. That being said, I would say that the key difference between Athletic Greens and Organifi is what they can do to your body.

The difference is really small: Athletic Greens contain digestive enzymes, making them good for your digestion and gut health. This is not to say that Organifi will not bring any benefits to your gut, but Athletic Greens contain digestive enzymes, which are intended to promote gut health. This product could be easier for those with sensitive stomachs to digest too.

On the other hand, Organifi mostly focuses on bringing overall health via its nutrients, which is also important to take note of.

  • Athletic Greens – 4.5 out of 5 stars from 2,402 ratings. It is also considered Amazon’s Choice.
  • Organifi – 4.3 out of 5 from 5,764 ratings.

That being said, both supplements performed fairly well in terms of customer reviews. Here’s what customers are saying about the supplements.

  • Athletic Greens – customers noted that Athletic Greens did bring about the health benefits it promised such as aiding in digestion and delivering their nutrient needs. Aside from that, they also noted that Athletic Greens indeed tasted better compared to many superfood supplements or greens powder.

Athletic Greens vs. Organifi: Other Considerations

The good news about these green products is you truly can’t go wrong. Both are great options if you are looking to add more nutrients to your diet. They also work well, no matter your dietary restrictions.

Organifi is soy-free, gluten-free, dairy-free, and this greens powder is suitable for the vegan diet. Athletic Greens is gluten-free, dairy-free, and this greens powder is suitable for many diets. It also does not contain any GMOs, gluten, dairy, lactose, egg, peanuts, and any animal products.

The prices of the two brands are pretty similar, with Organifi being a little more affordable. It all really comes down to which you personally prefer.

Athletic Greens vs. Organifi: Price

Both Athletic Greens and Organifi are in no way “budget-friendly”. Athletic Greens are priced at $97 (one-time purchase) while Organifi is priced at $69.95 (one-time purchase). If you take their subscription, you will get $77 and $59.46, respectively. Discount-wise, Athletic Greens offer a higher discount percentage of 21% compared to Organifi’s 15%.

That being said, and needless to say, Athletic Greens is way pricier compared to Organifi. However, the value of the supplements and if it is worth paying for will ultimately depend on you.

Athletic Greens vs. Organifi: Which is Better?

So, which supplement is better? Although both are promising and both are potent supplements, I would go for Athletic Greens. Athletic Greens is richer in nutrients compared to Organifi. It also contains gut-related ingredients – mainly, digestive enzymes – which are very great for the gut and digestive support.

But that being said, both are still promising, so if you’re undecided, check out our full review of Athletic Greens here and our full review of Organifi here to learn more about each. You may even consider trying both of them – just take note of the price!
