Travis Barker is from California. He got his first drum kit at age 4 and started taking lessons at 5. He also studied other instruments and voice. In high school, Barker played in the jazz ensemble and marching band. After graduation, he was working as a trash man when he filled in with the band Aquabats and wound up staying. In 1998, Barker was recruited by Blink-182 to fill in as their drummer, and once again stayed. Blink’s 1999 album Enema of the State shot the band to fame. Barker collaborates with many other musicians in a wide range of musical genres, from country to pop to hip hop. He has appeared in many shows and films and his family was the subject of the reality show Meet the Barkers. Barker founded a clothing brand and a record label, and also collaborated with different brands including shoes and cymbals. He released a memoir in 2015. Barker is a vegan, has invested in the vegan restaurant Crossroads and has a self-named vegan-based wellness brand. In 2022, He married Kourtney Kardashian. Barker has 3 children in total, including 2 from a previous marriage. He has millions of followers on social media. Barker is 5 feet, 9 inches tall and weighs about 180 lbs.

To look at him, you wouldn’t expect Barker to be a vegan, but he has been eating a plant-based diet for a long time. He avoids animal products because they don’t sit well with him. He also avoids gluten for the same reason, although he is less strict about that. He loves his comfort food, so staples include vegan egg sandwiches, vegan chicken and waffles and vegan sushi. While most drummers stay hidden in the background, Barker has been called the ‘first punk superstar drummer.’ He has founded 2 bands, Transplants and +44, and collaborated extensively with the late DJ AM in the duo TRV$DJAM, as well as many other artists across virtually all genres of music.
Fear Becomes Reality
Barker has always been afraid of flying, and had a premonition he would die in a plane crash. In 2008, the private plane he was in malfunctioned and crashed before takeoff, killing four people onboard. Barker spent 3 months in hospitals and burn centers and needed 16 surgeries and numerous skin grafts. He still prefers to ride a bus for 20 hours rather than take a plane.
Complex Relationships
Barker’s third wife is Kourtney Kardashian, and they have 1 son together. He also has 2 children from a previous marriage to 1995 Miss USA runner-up Shanna Moakler. She has a child with boxer Oscar De La Hoya, and both have appeared in The Kardashians, as well as in their own reality series Meet the Barkers.
Family First
Tragically, Barker’s mother died the day before he started high school. He is devoted to his kids and spends lots of time with them. Raised Catholic, he often prays with them.

Barker has over 100 tattoos. Very little of his skin is not inked. Besides his kids’ names, he also has song titles, and many car tattoos, including a Cadillac logo that took 12 hours to inscribe.
