As a young boy, he sang and played piano at church, and in 6th grade, he started rapping. Snoop Dogg joined gangs as a teen including the Crips and was in and out of jail for several years for various infractions including drug possession. He got his break in 1992 recording  with Dr. Dre on the single ‘Deep Cover.’ His own first album Doggystyle debuted the following year at number 1 on the Billboard 200 and was certified quadruple platinum in 1994. Snoop Dogg has gone on to sell over 35 million albums around the world. He has received many honors, including an American Music Award and over a dozen Grammy nominations. His Martha & Snoop’s Potluck Party Challenge earned a a Primetime Emmy nomination. Snoop Dogg also has several acting credits, including the films The Wash and Bones, and starring in 3 tv shows: Doggly Fizzle Televizzle, Snoop Dogg’s Father Hood and Dogg After Dark, as well as numerous cameos. He is an investor and entrepreneur in various products including plant-based Outstanding Foods, Leafs By Snoop cannabis, and Roscoe’s House of Chicken and Waffles. Snoop Dogg has been married to his wife Shante Taylor since 1997 and they have 3 children together. He also has 1 child from a previous relationship.
