Things to Consider
- Snap BCAAs contains the three BCAAs in addition to all the other essential amino acids
- Each serving provides 5g of BCAAs which is decent but not a super high dose
- It’s one of the few products with plant-based BCAAs which makes it a potential option for vegans/vegetarians
- It includes other ingredients like electrolytes and nitric oxide boosters, but these don’t seem to offer any major effects given the low doses
- It’s priced a bit higher than basic BCAA formulas but also has more diverse ingredients
- There aren’t any artificial ingredients which makes it suitable for those looking to avoid artificial colors, flavors, etc.
About Snap BCAAs
Snap BCAAs is a branched-chain amino acid (BCAA) powder supplement created by Snap Supplements. This company has been in the supplement game for a while and has created many products, including:
- Snap Liver Health & Detox
- Snap Nitric Oxide Organic Beets
- Snap Nitric Oxide Booster Review
- Snap Blood Sugar Blend Review
- Snap Testo Booster Review
- Snap Heart Health Review
And many others.
Snap BCAA Powder not only includes the three main BCAAs, but also other essential amino acids (EAAs), various amino acids for nitric oxide support, and electrolytes for hydration. As a result, this formula is meant to give athletes a greater edge in muscle growth, performance, endurance, and recovery.
Snap BCAAs Benefits
Snap BCAA Powder is advertised to provide a range of important benefits for athletes, including:
- Improved Recovery
- Muscle Growth Support
- Enhanced Energy & Focus
- Increased Hydration
Improved Recovery
Snap BCAAs claims to improve muscle recovery and get you back in the gym faster. The combination of BCAAs and other EAAs may repair damaged muscles.
And other ingredients like citrulline and pomegranate encourage blood flow which could further improve recovery and reduce soreness.
Muscle Growth Support
In line with the above benefit, Snap BCAA Powder is also advertised to support muscle growth, mainly with the use of BCAAs in the optimal 2:1:1 ratio, as well as other EAAs for further assistance in muscle protein synthesis.
Enhanced Energy & Focus
Snap Supplements also claims that their BCAA formula enhances energy and focus. Many people think of BCAAs just for the muscles, but they claim these and other amino acids in the formula provide pivotal support for your brain to function at its best too.
Increased Hydration
Snap BCAAs is said to promote optimal hydration, mainly with a mix of sodium, potassium, and coconut water powder. These ingredients give a range of electrolytes to the body to maintain hydration during your workouts and could potentially boost performance.
Snap BCAAs Ingredients
Snap BCAA has over a dozen active ingredients, most of which are listed under different blends.
Below are all of the ingredients in Snap BCAA Powder:
- Sodium
- Potassium
- InstaAminos Instantized Vegan BCAA (2:1:1):
- L-Leucine
- L-Isoleucine
- L-Valine
- Essential Amino Acid Blend:
- L-Lysine
- L-Histidine
- L-Phenylalanine
- L-Methionine
- L-Threonine
- L-Tryptophan
- Nitric Oxide Booster Blend:
- L-Citrulline
- L-Arginine
- L-Taurine
- Hydration & Antioxidant Blend:
- Coconut Water Powder
- Pomegranate Berry Extract
InstaAminos Instantized Vegan BCAA (2:1:1:) (5,000mg)
InstaAminos is a trademarked vegan BCAA blend with a 2:1:1 ratio of leucine to isoleucine to valine. This is generally accepted as the best ratio since leucine has the greatest anabolic effects.
But all three of these BCAAs assist in muscle protein synthesis, which supports muscle growth and recovery. However, the overall effects of supplementation are questionable, especially if you get enough from food. But they can reduce soreness and muscle pain.
Essential Amino Acid Blend (500mg)
The Essential Amino Acid Blend contains six essential amino acids. Together with the BCAAs, they make up all nine of the essential amino acids, which are the ones your body doesn’t produce and needs to get from diet.
It’s a pretty low-dosed blend, though, so it doesn’t seem to offer a big benefit.
Nitric Oxide Booster Blend (500mg)
The Nitric Oxide Booster Blend contains citrulline, arginine, and taurine, which are often included in many pre-workouts too like Six Star Pre-Workout Explosion.
Why’s that? Well, all three of these amino acids (but especially citrulline and arginine) can increase nitric oxide levels, which dilates the blood vessels and enhances circulation throughout the body.
Research has shown that these may improve endurance and recovery. However, the total blend only weighs 500mg so these ingredients are definitely underdosed.
Hydration & Antioxidant Blend (500mg)
The Hydration & Antioxidant Blend consists of coconut water powder and pomegranate berry extract.
Coconut water powder is high in several electrolyte minerals, including potassium and calcium. It also has a variety of antioxidants. Studies have shown that it can provide adequate hydration after intense exercise, but the benefits might not be that much better beyond just water if you’re not sweating a lot.
And pomegranate is high in polyphenols and other antioxidants which support heart health, including during exercise. And it also seems to promote better recovery.
Sodium (215mg) and Potassium (205mg)
Snap BCAA Powder also has additional sodium and potassium for electrolyte support. These two minerals are needed to maintain fluid balance and are used up during intense exercise, especially if you sweat a lot.
Does Snap BCAAs Work?
Snap BCAAs seems to work, but we don’t think the benefits will be drastic.
It’s a nice combo of ingredients and goes beyond basic BCAA products by offering other ingredients for muscle support, hydration, and circulation.
However, most ingredients are used in proprietary blends and are underdosed. Therefore the potential benefits are minimized. We do like the 2:1:1 ratio of BCAAs though, and the total amount included is pretty good.
Pros
- Pretty good dose of BCAAs
- Vegan source of BCAAs
- 2:1:1 ratio of leucine to isoleucine to valine
- Supportive ingredients for hydration, blood flow, recovery
- All-natural and non-GMO
Cons
- Uses several proprietary blends
- Most of the ingredients are underdosed
- Priced a bit higher than regular BCAA formulas
How Does Snap BCAAs Compare?
Snap BCAA Powder is a decent BCAA formula, which mainly stands out by offering additional ingredients like other EAAs, nitric oxide supporters, and electrolytes. Not to mention they use a vegan source of BCAAs which makes it more applicable to people on various diets.
However, the BCAAs aren’t dosed moderately and the product as a whole seems to be underdosed. Plus, the proprietary blends decrease the overall product quality.
Huge BCAA
One product that doesn’t have proprietary blends is Huge BCAA. It’s a pretty good formula with 8g of BCAAs, 5g of glutamine, and other ingredients like coconut water powder and EAAs.
Overall, Huge BCAA seems to be of higher quality, however, it contains some artificial flavors and colors whereas Snap BCAAs uses all-natural ingredients. Plus, Snap’s product is cheaper at $32.95 for 30 servings vs $39.99 for 25 servings for Huge BCAA.
Who is Snap BCAAs Best For?

For BCAAs, these prices are a bit higher than average. But then again this formula also has additional ingredients so it seems to be fairly-priced overall.

Verdict: Snap BCAAs Review
Ultimately, Snap BCAAs is a pretty good BCAA formula, considering the dosage of BCAAs is decent and it’s in the right 2:1:1 ratio.
It would’ve stood out more if the other ingredients like nitric oxide boosters and electrolytes were dosed higher, but it’s still a solid product. And it also serves as a good option for vegans and vegetarians who want to use BCAAs.
Just don’t take it expecting any highly significant benefits beyond what occurs in other BCAA formulas.
