hairtamin ingredients

Vitamin A

The first vitamin found in this formula is vitamin A, a fat-soluble vitamin. Vitamin A has some roles related to the hair cycle and follicular strength. And deficiencies in vitamin A have been associated with increased hair fragility and changes in follicular health.

Vitamin C

Next is vitamin C, which is an antioxidant compound and can fight off free radicals that would otherwise damage hair strength and health. Plus, it is necessary for collagen synthesis, which is important since collagen is a component in hair. Small amounts of research show vitamin C can help trigger hair growth, but no human studies have been done.

Vitamin D3

Vitamin D3 is a hormone-like compound and is one of the fat-soluble vitamins. Vitamin D receptors appear to have a regulatory role in the hair cycle, and vitamin D levels can affect hair follicular strength. And research shows a vitamin D deficiency is associated with hair loss and decreased hair strength.

Biotin

Up next is biotin, or vitamin B7. This is listed separately from the other B-Complex vitamins due to its heightened popularity as a hair growth vitamin.

Biotin is involved in many metabolic functions, and it also plays a role in keratin production, which is important for healthy hair and nail growth. And, while HAIRtamin may not be a dedicated Biotin supplement, at 5000mcg you’ll find that it contains the same amount of this ingredient as many biotin-focused supplements, such as Vitafive Biotin For Beauty.

Supplementation appears to improve hair and nail growth in deficient people but might not benefit people who already get enough biotin.

Other B-Complex Vitamins

HAIRtamin also includes all 7 of the other B-Complex vitamins, which are all involved in energy metabolism and many other functions.

Some research shows that deficiencies in these B-vitamins is related to hair loss, but there isn’t much research showing it’ll benefit hair growth.

Zinc

One of the essential trace minerals included in HAIRtamin is zinc. Zinc deficiencies are strongly related to hair loss, likely since zinc plays a role in hair tissue growth and repair. And some research shows zinc supplementation can increase hair growth in zinc-deficient people.

Selenium

Another trace mineral in HAIRtamin is selenium. Selenium is important for hair growth, partially due to its influence on thyroid hormones involved in hair growth regulation. But interestingly, too much selenium can increase the risk of hair loss, so there’s a delicate balance needed.

HAIRtamin Advanced Proprietary Blend

Now, let’s look at the main formula, which is the HAIRtamin Advanced Proprietary Blend. It consists of aloe vera, Bacopa Monnieri, rosemary, stinging nettle, lutein, horsetail, turmeric, cayenne, and black pepper.

Aloe Vera

Aloe vera is a plant known for its gel-like substance inside the leaves. It is also rich in a number of vitamins and antioxidant compounds, such as vitamins A, C, E, B12, and folic acid, which are involved in hair growth and health. Plus, aloe vera can help to reduce dandruff and inflammation, although there’s little clinical evidence showing its effects on hair growth.

Bacopa Monnieri

Bacopa Monnieri is another widely used herb. It has a number of bioactive compounds that have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects, which could protect against hair damage. Plus, certain alkaloids found in it are thought to activate proteins involved in hair growth.

Rosemary

Rosemary is rich in numerous chemicals and bioactive components, and it has been used for many ailments. Regarding hair loss, research shows rosemary may be able to inhibit DHT and can lead to significant increases in hair growth. Plus, it has antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anti-fungal effects, all of which relate to healthy, strong hair.

Stinging Nettle

Yet another herb included is stinging nettle, which has its own long history of medicinal uses. Stinging nettle contains a vast array of biological substances that affect metabolism and growth responses in hair follicles. Some research shows that stinging nettle can cause an increase in blood supply to the hair follicles and may be able to stimulate hair growth.

Lutein

Up next is lutein, which is a carotenoid known for its potent antioxidant effects and particular action on eye health. However, no research has been done on lutein for hair growth.

Horsetail

Horsetail is a long-used herb with antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antimicrobial properties. Plus, it inhibits 5-alpha reductase, which may help prevent hair loss. Not to mention its rich mineral content, especially silicon, which is important for collagen synthesis. Some research shows horsetail supplementation can improve hair thickness and reduce nail brittleness.

Turmeric

One of the most widely used herbs in existence is turmeric, known mainly for the compound curcumin, which is a potent anti-inflammatory and antioxidant. Some research shows that turmeric/curcumin can reduce the inflammatory component of hair loss, which can thus promote hair growth. And it may have antiandrogenic properties, which would help against androgenic alopecia.

Cayenne

Now, let’s look at cayenne, a form of hot pepper known most notably for the compound capsaicin. Capsaicin has antioxidant effects and may also increase IGF-1, which helps maintain hair follicle strength. Small amounts of research show that capsaicin supplementation may be able to increase hair growth slightly.

Black Pepper

The final ingredient in HAIRtamin is black pepper, which is most well-known for the compound piperine. Piperine is used to increase the bioavailability of many different compounds, including curcumin. Plus. It might have its own beneficial effects on hair by increasing blood circulation.

Does HAIRtamin Work?

Taken together, it is likely that HAIRtamin will help increase the strength and health of your hair. It contains a number of well-researched ingredients known to offer antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects, which protect against hair damage.

Additionally, specific ingredients, such as horsetail, stinging nettle, and rosemary, may be able to increase hair growth and hair thickness. Plus, many of the ingredients do a nice job of working on the root cause of hair loss by improving blood flow to the hair follicles and overall improving follicular strength and hair cycle quality.

Now, the vitamins and minerals in HAIRtamin may also improve hair health and increase hair growth, but this is typically only if someone is deficient. It certainly doesn’t hurt to include these vitamins and minerals in here, but it may not help everyone unless you’re deficient.

Another thing to consider is that the main formula is a proprietary blend, so it’s unclear exactly how much of each ingredient is in there. In turn, it’s impossible to tell if they use research-backed doses.

Claims vs. Reality

Recall that HAIRtamin is designed to promote a healthy scalp, improve follicle strength, reduce hair shedding and thinning, and overall promote longer, fuller, healthier hair. And they also say it will improve the health of skin and nails.

Overall, you should see some improvements in hair growth, strength, and overall health, although it might not be anything hugely noticeable, at least initially.

Products like this take time to work, sometimes even a couple of months, before they reach full effectiveness. After all, it’s meant to treat the root cause, so it will take time for the ingredients to build up and do their job.

Also, you may experience improved skin and nail health due to the numerous antioxidant compounds and other quality ingredients, such as horsetail. But again, this likely won’t be anything spectacular.

It’s also worth noting again that anyone who has optimal levels of the nutrients in HAIRtamin won’t experience as much of a benefit from this product.

Who is HAIRtamin Best For?

HAIRtamin is for anyone with noticeable hair loss or for anyone who notices that their hair isn’t as strong, shiny, and healthy as it used to be.

hairtamin user

It is ideal for anyone deficient in the vitamins and minerals mentioned, but even people who aren’t deficient may benefit from this product due to the many herbs and other ingredients included in this formula. So, both men and women alike can benefit from HAIRtamin.
