ecdysterone review

There are a lot of different compounds out there advertised to deliver insane increases in strength and muscle. And ecdysterone is definitely one of them. This ingredient has risen in popularity lately, but it’s important to see if it’s actually effective and, of course, safe to use.

I’ll be going over one of these supplements called Ecdysterone. Continue reading this Ecdysterone review to see if it has any benefits and if it’s worth adding to your muscle-building stack.

About Ecdysterone

Ecdysterone is made by Huge Supplements, which is a popular supplement company that provides a variety of products for lifters, bodybuilders, and athletes.

Other Huge Supplements Reviews:

Huge Supplements Ecdysterone is advertised as a natural anabolic agent designed to ramp up protein synthesis and increase muscle mass and strength. And they also added an ingredient called cyclodextrin, which they say will improve the absorption rate for maximal effects.

When taken regularly, Ecdysterone is supposed to lead to rapid results.

Ecdysterone Benefits

Ecdysterone claims to be a natural anabolic enhancer with the following benefits:

  • Increased Lean Muscle Mass
  • Elevated Protein Synthesis
  • Enhanced Strength & Power

Increased Lean Muscle Mass

After you’ve been training for a while, you’re more likely to plateau and have trouble adding on size.

But Ecdysterone is designed to ramp up the anabolic (muscle-building) activity in your body. When combined with training, it is meant to lead to relatively quick increases in lean muscle mass.

Elevated Protein Synthesis

Protein synthesis is the key to muscle repair and growth. And if you don’t optimize this, you’re leaving gains on the table.

Well, Ecdysterone claims to elevate muscle protein synthesis to help your body recover from workouts and build muscle much more easily. This may also reduce soreness and pain, so you can work out more often.

Enhanced Strength & Power

If you’re not building muscle, you’re likely not gonna be any stronger. But you also need to get stronger to get bigger, generally. So it’s important to build from both angles.

And Ecdysterone claims to increase your strength and power on all your lifts. This might trigger the response your body needs to get bigger and then, even stronger. So it could be a potentially powerful formula if it really does as it claims.

Is Ecdysterone Legit?

There’s a lot of anecdotal evidence for ecdysterone, but there isn’t a whole lot of research. Even still, Huge Supplements is a trustworthy company, and the formula does contain the ingredients stated.

But will Ecdysterone actually work? Read on to find out for sure!

Ecdysterone Ingredients

Huge Supplements kept it simple with this product as there are only two ingredients. Below are the Ecdysterone ingredients:

  • Ecdysterone Hydroxypropyl
  • Beta-Cyclodextrin
Ecdysterone Supplement Facts

Ecdysterone Hydroxypropyl

Ecdysterone hydroxypropyl is the form used for ecdysterone, which is a type of steroid compound that is similar in make-up to androgen hormones (such as testosterone).

Thus, ecdysterone may have some anabolic effects. It has been shown to increase protein synthesis and may help boost muscle mass and strength. Although there really needs to be more human studies.

It’s in a few other supplements we’ve reviewed too, such as D.BAL.MAX

Beta-Cyclodextrin

Beta-cyclodextrin (or simply cylcodextrin) is a compound that has been shown to increase the bioavailability (absoprtion and usability) of certain drugs and compounds.

Thus, it may help increase the effects of ecdysterone.

Does Ecdysterone Work?

Based on limited evidence, it seems likely that Ecdysterone will help increase muscle mass and strength.

But not everyone will experience the same results. And there have only been a few human trials. With that said, many people have stated anecdotally that they’ve gotten bigger and stronger with this product.

Claims vs. Reality

Overall, I’d expect Ecdysterone to give you a little boost in strength, and it may also help you add on a few more pounds of muscle to your frame.

These effects might not take that long to happen either, but again, everyone is different. It’s important to still train hard, eat right, and recover properly if you want the best results. And some people may experience little to no results; it just depends.

Who is Ecdysterone Best For?

Ecdysterone is best for hardcore lifters or bodybuilders who want to try out something new to build more muscle and increase their strength in a relatively quick timeframe.

How to Take Ecdysterone

Ecdysterone comes in capsule form. The recommended dosage is two capsules per day. You should take these with 8 to 12oz of water.

With a product like this, it’s particularly important not to go over the recommended dosage. And Huge Supplements recommends taking it for 4 to 8 weeks, although they say you don’t need post-cycle therapy.

Is Ecdysterone Safe?

Generally, ecdysterone has a much safer profile compared to anabolic steroids and doesn’t seem to harm the liver, kidneys, or heart.

However, possible long-term side effects are unknown, so I’d make sure to talk with your doctor before taking this (and get bloodwork done, if possible).

Ecdysterone is made in the USA in an FDA-registered, GMP-certified facility.

Verdict: Ecdysterone Review

That concludes this Ecdysterone review.

This really is an interesting product because there are a lot of good reviews, but really a lack of reserach behind it (besides a few studies).

Given the potential for this product to increase muscle mass and strength, I’d say it’s worth checking out if you’ve already checked off the other boxes (e.g. nutrition, solid workout plan, sleep, creatine & other primary supplements, etc.) and want to try something unique for a short period.

But I wouldn’t necessarily buy it if you’re just starting out with weight training or if you are worried about long-term side effects. There aren’t any documented right now, but there certainly are other supplements to build muscle that don’t involve nearly any risk.
