Becky Lynch is the professional name of Rebecca Quin. She grew up in a suburb of Dublin, Ireland. Lynch was active as a child, rode horseback, swam and played basketball, and she also enjoyed watching wrestling on tv with her brother. She began studying politics, history and philosophy in college but dropped out. In 2002, Lynch began wrestling training and debuted just 5 months later under the professional name of Rebecca Knox. Early in her career, she teamed up with her brother. Lynch joined the Canadian SuperGirls Wrestling circuit and became their inaugural champion in 2005. In 2006, she suffered a serious head injury that sidelined her from the sport until 2012 when she signed with the WWE. In 2016, she was the first SmackDown Women’s Backlash Champion and has defended the title 3 times. Lynch performed stunts for an episode of Vikings and has appeared in a few films, including The Marine 6: Close Quarters. She is also featured in several video games. Lynch dubbed herself ‘The Man’ but in May 2020, she went on maternity leave and has been renamed ‘The Mom.’ Lynch is in a relationship with fellow wrestler Colby Lopez aka Seth Rollins. She has millions of followers on social media. Lynch is 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs about 135 lbs.

Becky Lynch’s Fitness Routine
Lynch may look like she spent her entire life in the gym, but she actually failed PE as a teen. Flunking gym class motivated her to get fit.
Lynch works with celebrity CrossFit trainer Josh Gallegos. He regularly creates new routines for her to keep things fresh.
Think Outside the Box
Because Lynch spends a lot of time on the road, she and her trainer must come up with creative ways for her to train, often with no equipment at all.
Lynch works out virtually every day and considers it as important for her mental health as it is for her physical health.
Lynch says working out with her fiancé Seth Rollins helps them both. He works to match her speed and endurance while she is forced to push harder to keep up in strength training.
While Lynch has tried out a lot of different types of exercise, CrossFit is her favorite. She is such a big advocate, she calls herself the ‘CrossFit Shesus’ (Jesus). She can deadlift 300 lbs.
Some Sample Becky Lynch CrossFit Routines
10 to 1 Countdown Workout of the day (WOD): Do 10 kettlebell swings (moderate weight) followed by 10 dumbbell thrusters (light weight), then do 9 of each, then 8 etc.
Burpee box jumps: Do as many 8 burpee box jumps & 16 kettlebell swings as you can in 8 min.
Bodyweight WOD: Do 3 rounds of 10 as fast as you can
Squat, Pull-Up, Press, Run: Do 3 rounds of 12 front squats w/ barbell, 10 pull ups & 8 push-presses. Finish with 1/4 mile run.
Running Sandwich: Run 1/4 mile, followed by 40 air squats, 30 sit-ups, 20 burpees, 10 pull-ups, then another 1/4 mile run.

‘I’ve always been lifting since I started training to be a wrestler at 15, but I’ve recently got really into CrossFit and I love it. It’s something that constantly pushes you and constantly tests you both physically and mentally.’

During a 2006 match, Lynch sustained an injury to a cranial nerve that nearly ended her career. She was deeply depressed for several years.
Lynch struggled with drinking and substance abuse as a teen. Wrestling helped her straighten out, and she gave up all the bad stuff.
Bring In the Clowns
Unlike a lot of people, Lynch adores clowns. She says she loves acting foolish, and that was part of the attraction of wrestling.
Want Ice With That?
As if she didn’t log enough air miles through wrestling, Lynch once worked as a flight attendant for Aer Lingus. After a couple of years of passing out headphones and peanuts, she was ready to head back into the ring.
Lynch says that if she weren’t a pro wrestler, she’d be acting and writing for the stage and screen, especially sit coms. She actually has a degree in acting from the Dublin Institute of Technology.
