Jason Walsh grew up in Missouri. Always interested in health and fitness, he enrolled at Missouri State to study sports science, then transferred to UNC Chapel Hill because of their top-notch nutritional program. An NSCA-certified trainer, Walsh became an assistant strength coach at UNC working under Greg Gatz, and then moved to Arizona a few years later and worked with world-famous coaches Mark Verstegen and Luke Richesson. Working as a bartender to make ends meet, Walsh’s fitness clientele eventually expanded from athletes to movie stars. In 2016, Walsh opened a fitness center in LA called Rise Nation, and has since opened several other locations including New York, Dallas, Cleveland, Australia and the Philippines. He has hundreds of thousands of followers on social media. Walsh is 5 feet, 11 inches tall and weighs anywhere from 200-220 lbs.

Walsh eats clean, but he also changes his habits based on the season. He enjoys heartier foods in winter, like stew and chili, and more fats including olive oil and avocados. Always Active

Walsh was into fitness and sports ever since he was a kid, not least of all because he admired an uncle who liked to climb and do survival-type activities.

Walsh says that he likes group exercise because of the accountability, community, and camaraderie it creates.

No Favorites

Walsh is famous for training famous people like Matt Damon, Bradley Cooper and Brie Larson, but he says he doesn’t target celebrities and that most of his clients aren’t famous.

Seasonal Training

Walsh does a variety of workouts based on what his clients need. For himself, he also changes things up. In the winter, he lifts heavier and gets burlier. In the warm weather, he spends more time outside and gets a little leaner from doing different activities.

Walsh says sitting around all day has ruined our bodies. His goal is to get people’s bodies working correctly again so we can enjoy life.
