Bulk Supplements Review

Bulk Supplements is a very popular supplement company. Many individuals turn to Bulk Supplements when they’re looking to buy large quantities of a supplement at a bargain price.

Thus, Bulk Supplements is quickly gaining popularity as the best budget brand out there. But of course, there are other factors that we need to look at too, such as product quality, safety considerations, bioavailability, and much more.

In this article, we’ll go over everything you need to know about the Bulk Supplements brand to see if it’s truly a supplement company worth buying from.

About Bulk Supplements

Bulk Supplements was founded in 2012 so they’ve been going strong for over 10 years. They have been one of the most diverse supplement companies over the last 10 years, offering over 500 different supplements.

Each product typically comes with a huge buying variety too, with options available in just a few grams all the way up to metric tons.

The Bulk Supplements manufacturing and distribution facility is located in Henderson, Nevada, and is staffed by over 70 full-time employees. It’s also NSF-Certified, GMP-Certified, and FDA-registered.

Bulk Supplements’ primary goal is to provide a diverse selection of clean and pure supplements at affordable prices in order to benefit as many health-conscious individuals as possible.

Bulk Supplements Products

Types of Supplements Offered

With Bulk Supplements, the real question to ask is, “What types of products DON’T they offer?”.

After all, Bulk Supplements has literally over 500 supplements, which are grouped into various categories.

If you search by product type, you’ll see that there is a huge variety, including:

  • Sports Nutrition, which entails:
    • Creatine
    • Protein
    • Pre-Workout
    • Amino Acids
    • Post-Workout
    • Vitamins & Health
    • Energy & Endurance
    • Performance
    • Muscle Building
  • Herbal Supplements, which include:
    • Antioxidants
    • Botanical Extracts
    • Organic
    • Weight Management
    • Mushroom Supplements
    • Superfoods
    • Fruit Powders
    • Sugar Substitutes

They also have a search feature where you can look for a product based on your health goals, such as:

  • Men’s Health
  • Women’s Health
  • Brain & Memory
  • Heart Health
  • Hair, Skin, & Nails
  • Muscle Building
  • Bone & Joint Support
  • Sleep Support
  • And more

Just a few examples of some of their top-selling products are NMN, Creatine Monohydrate, Caffeine, Ashwagandha Root, Whey Protein Isolate, Beta Alanine, and Organic Beet Root.

Bulk Supplements Formulas

By and large, Bulk Supplements mainly offers single-ingredient products. This can be useful for individuals who want the ability to vary their dosage depending on their needs and preferences.

Not to mention people can combine different supplements to create their own formulas. (For example, many people use different pre-workout ingredients from Bulk Supplements to create their own pre-workout formula.)

Quality & Bioavailability

But what about the ingredient quality and bioavailability?

Well, generally speaking, the products from Bulk Supplements seem to be well-formulated.

For example, most of their herbal extracts such as ashwagandha, turmeric, and lion’s mane, are in extract forms, which are more bioavailable than just simply using the herb in whole, powdered form.

Most of their vitamins and minerals are in bioavailable forms too (such as methylcobolamin for vitamin B12, magnesium glycinate, and vitamin D3), but they also have generally poorer absorbing versions too like magnesium oxide, zinc oxide, and cyanocobolamin (which is synthetic B12). As a result, consumers may end up purchasing the wrong form if they don’t know which one is best.

Lastly, none of the Bulk Supplements contain any additives or artificial ingredients. Most products are also free of sugar, soy, gluten, yeast, and dairy. But always make sure to check the label before purchasing any supplement.

Research/Evidence

The majority of their products are well-researched and safe to consume for most people. For example, they offer a variety of research-backed sports nutrition products like creatine monohydrate, HMB, citrulline malate, beta alanine, and beet root powder.

Most of their herbs they feature are well-researched too, such as turmeric, milk thistle, ashwagandha, and tart cherry.

One potential drawback is that they don’t use any trademarked forms for their ingredients. So while they still likely are effective, they may not have the same benefits as seen from the trademarked ones used in clinical research studies.

Dosage

Obviously, with so many products, we can’t go over every dose. But when looking at some of their top sellers, it’s clear that they generally offer good doses per serving. For example, here are a few examples of well-dosed products:

  • NMN (250mg)
  • Creatine Monohydrate (5g)
  • Caffeine (200mg)
  • Beet Root (3,500mg)
  • Lion’s Mane (1,000mg)
  • Beta Alanine (3g)
  • Ashwagandha (600mg)
  • Whey Protein Isolate (30g)

Now, we also mentioned that one of the good things about Bulk Supplements is that you can vary the dosage based on your own needs.

Even still, it’s good to see that the general dose per serving is solid because it’s more likely then that you can gauge an accurate sense of the value based on the price per serving.

Bulk Supplements Product Testing

All Bulk Supplements products are made in the USA in GMP-certified, FDA-registered, NSF-Certified facilities.

Additionally, they are all third-party tested through ISO-verified labs, which is important because this verification ensures that the ones doing the testing meet specific testing requirements for competence and quality.

Beyond that, Bulk Supplements does additional testing in their In-House Laboratory for heavy metals, microbial contaminants, and ingredient purity and potency.

Bulk Supplements doesn’t openly publish the test results for its supplements, but you can request a Certificate of Analysis (CoA) for whatever supplement you want.

Certifications

The Bulk Supplements manufacturing and distribution facility is certified by NSF (National Sanitation Foundation and cGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practices), and is FDA-registered.

However, none of their individual supplements are NSF Certified for Sport or certified by other organizations. They also don’t have any outright certifications for gluten-free, organic, vegan, etc. even though some of these products are still labeled that way.

(E.g. many of their products are listed as “gluten-free”, but they aren’t technically Certified Gluten-Free)

Bulk Supplements Value

Bulk Supplements has some of the lowest prices out there, mainly due to their massive buying options that result in a very small unit price.

A lot of their products are available in amounts of about 100g all the way up to an insane 25kg (55lbs)!

When we took a look at some of the biggest bulk options, some of their products could get to as low as 2 cents per serving (yes, that’s 2 cents). Of course, those were for the huge containers like 5kg (11lbs) or more.

But in general, Bulk Supplements prices are definitely on the lower end; and you’d have to look hard to find a product that was more than $1 per serving. And most supplements (especially in the larger options) at 50 cents or less per serving.

Just to give you a couple examples (keeping in mind that there are many sizes available), here are some prices of some of their most popular supplements:

  • Creatine Monohydrate: $15.96 for 50, 5g servings
  • Citrulline Malate: $17.96 for 83, 3g servings
  • Whey Protein Isolate: $34.96 for 33, 30g servings
  • BCAA 2:1:1: $17.96 for 41, 6g servings
  • Multivitamin Softgels: $15.96 for 90 servings
  • L-Theanine: $10.96 for 250, 200mg servings
  • Ashwagandha Root: $19.96 for 240 servings
  • Lion’s Mane Mushroom: $13.96 for 100, 1g servings

Overall, Bulk Supplements products are a good value. Keep in mind that they aren’t necessarily the BEST forms for each ingredient, since they don’t standardize for bioactive compounds, nor do they use any trademarked forms for their ingredients, for example.

But the overall quality that you get for what you’re paying still makes the value for Bulk Supplements products pretty high.

Reputation & Customer Feedback

In general, Bulk Supplements is a highly rated supplement company. Bulk Supplements is accredited with the Better Business Bureau (BBB), and they have an A- rating on the BBB website

The majority of their products have 4-star or higher ratings on their website. Of course, we like to look at other sites too to see if these hold up.

And they do seem to, as most of the Bulk Supplements supplements on Amazon are rated 4.0 out of 5 or better, with a hefty amount of reviews to ensure that these are reliable.

For example, here are some Amazon ratings for various products from Bulk Supplements:

  • Creatine Monohydrate: 4.6 (45,000+ reviews)
  • Citrulline Malate: 4.6 (8,000+ reviews)
  • Beet Root: 4.4 (5,000+ reviews)
  • HMB: 4.5 (3,000+ reviews)
  • MSM: 4.5 (4,000+ reviews)
  • Hyaluronic Acid: 4.4 (2,000+ reviews)

Customers generally spoke to the quality of the ingredients, low prices, and overall convenience of bulk supplements.

However, there were enough complaints too, though. Specifically, some customers complained about:

  • The resealable bags not working properly (they often broke or didn’t close fully
  • Not getting a scooper for their supplements
  • Poor customer service in some cases, such as waiting a while for a response or to get an appropriate refund

Listed below are some customer reviews of Bulk Supplements as a whole:

“Bulk Supplements has pure, high-quality nutritional supplements at the best possible price. Buying pure, specific substances is the only way to make sure a user’s individual nutritional needs are met. Proprietary blends don’t even display the dose of each component. With BulkSupplements I can buy exactly what I need and consume it when and in the dose I need.”

“Highly satisfied. Love that the products are pure and of high quality. Customer service is great.—very efficient. Prompt processing and shipping.

Thanks Bulk Supplements.”

“No fuss, ordered directly rather than through Amazon. Free shipping over a certain dollar amount. Well packed and sent out immediately.”

“This was the 3rd order of the same product and the quality has been significantly lower this time. Customer Service is not responding. Within 6 weeks we’ve sent 2 emails and left 2 messages. We have not heard from them so far.”

“Awesome customer service, quick delivery and quality product so that we can continue our supplement program on a reasonable budget.”

“We have ordered from bulksupplements.com for years. The quality is good and shipping is fast. That said, the company has been sending spam messages to my cell phone and spam emails. I also am concerned as lately the company is massively advertising. We know how costly that is, so prices will keep going up to cover it and really don’t appreciate spam cell phone messages.”

Where to Buy Bulk Supplements

You can buy Bulk Supplements products right from the Bulk Supplements website.

There are likely other online retailers that sell Bulk Supplements formulas, but it’s best to stick with these two since these are verified for product accuracy and legitimacy.

Comparisons

Bulk Supplements offers a huge selection of supplements at very budget-friendly prices, especially if you buy their BULK options.

Their products aren’t likely top-notch quality when it comes to bioavailability and other factors, but the quality is still definitely good. Really good, even.

Nootropics Depot

Due to the overall range of products, Bulk Supplements reminds us a bit of Nootropics Depot. That company also offers many products in a vast number of categories. Nootropics Depot has a bit more to offer for brain health and cognitive function whereas Bulk Supplements appears to have more supplements related to sports nutrition.

Bulk Supplements is also generally more affordable, especially in the larger tubs, but when looking at the same container sizes, the prices are comparable.

PureBulk

Another very similar brand to Bulk Supplements is PureBulk. This company goes back even farther than Bulk Supplements as it was founded in 2008.

They offer many of the same categories of supplements and serve a wide variety of different needs. PureBulk has products for sports nutrition, immunity, mental wellness, joint health, recovery, digestion, and many others.

Verdict: Bulk Supplements Review

All things considered, Bulk Supplements is a quality supplement brand that you can trust to deliver safe, effective supplements for a wide variety of health benefits and uses.

Are they the pinnacle of ingredient bioavailability and maximal effectiveness? Not necessarily.

But they certainly take the time to still deliver well-tested, properly inspected, and well-dosed formulas for their products. And they offer many different products depending on your needs.

Essentially, Bulk Supplements is worth buying from if you’re someone who is looking to get highly discounted prices for good quality supplements that you plan on using consistently for a long time.
