Avantera Mood and Gut Health Blend

The Avantera Mood and Gut Health Blend consists of turmeric, lion’s mane, and Bioperine.

Turmeric

Turmeric is a spice with several anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects due in large part to a polyphenol called curcumin. Supplementation has also been shown to improve anxiety and depression, probably from decreasing neuroinflammation and increasing brain-derived neurotrophic factors.

Turmeric can also help prevent chronic stress-induced brain dysfunction. Overall, it is very effective as a neuroprotective, especially when at least 500mg is used daily.

Lastly, turmeric may improve gut function by reducing inflammation and improving gut microbiota composition.

Lion’s Mane

Lion’s Mane mushroom is similar to turmeric in that it also has a number of bioactive compounds that are anti-inflammatory and act as antioxidants. Additionally, lion’s mane mushroom can promote the growth of neurons. This mushroom can also increase dopamine, serotonin, and norepinephrine.

Research shows that lion’s mane mushroom can improve anxiety, depression, and cognitive function while offering neuroprotective benefits. Lastly, it may boost immune function and promote the growth of good bacteria in the gut, which could improve gut health.

The benefits are greatest when using at least 500mg.

Bioperine

The final ingredient in this blend is Bioperine, which is a black pepper extract. This ingredient is vital because it increases the absorption of both lion’s mane and turmeric. In fact, administering turmeric with Bioperine can increase absorption by 2,000 percent! So, increasing the absorption simply means the ingredients will be more effective.

Bacopa Monnieri

Elevate also has an extract from Bacopa Monnieri (Bacopa). Bacopa is an herb with several beneficial bioactive compounds, mainly bacosides. Research shows that it is a potent anti-inflammatory and antioxidant, and it can significantly decrease neuronal oxidative stress, which offers neuroprotective effects and can improve memory.

The memory-enhancing effects of Bacopa are also attributed to its ability to increase acetylcholine. Bacopa has also been shown in some studies to reduce anxiety and depression, possibly by increasing levels of GABA and serotonin.

The commonly administered dose is 300 to 600mg with 50% bacosides.

Avantera Focus and Energy Blend

The other blend included in Elevate is the Avantera Focus and Energy Blend, which contains CDP choline, l-theanine, and caffeine from green tea leaf extract.

CDP Choline

CDP choline is a superior form of choline, which ultimately acts as a precursor to the neurotransmitter acetylcholine. And since acetylcholine is involved in various cognitive functions, the logic is that taking in CDP choline will improve cognition.

This is enhanced by the fact that CDP choline increases phosphatidylcholine, a major component of cell membranes. Indeed, research shows that CDP choline supplementation can improve attention and memory and may be helpful for people with cognitive impairments.

L-Theanine

L-Theanine comes primarily from green tea. Firstly, L-theanine can increase alpha waves in the brain, which are associated with a relaxed but alert state of mind. This is likely amplified by its ability to increase GABA levels, which also increases dopamine and serotonin.

L-theanine has been shown to reduce stress and anxiety and may even improve sleep quality. Additionally, L-theanine research shows that it offers neuroprotective effects and can improve cognitive function, such as attention. 200 to 400mg is usually used in research.

Caffeine/Green Tea Extract

The effects of L-theanine are even better when paired with a modest amount of caffeine, and it just so happens that caffeine is also included in Elevate. The caffeine also comes from green tea extract.

Green tea reduces anxiety, improves memory, attention, and working memory, and offers overall neuroprotective effects.

Claims vs. Reality

As a nootropic, Avantera Elevate is advertised to increase mood, energy, memory, and focus while improving gut health. These benefits should occur at least to some degree based on the ingredients here.

As you’ve seen above, various ingredients in Elevate can increase neurotransmitters (e.g., GABA, serotonin, dopamine), increase neuronal growth, protect the brain from inflammation and oxidative stress, and increase brain alpha wave activity. These offer various nootropic benefits, including improved memory, focus, energy, and mood, as well as reductions in depression, anxiety, fatigue, and stress. However, based on the low doses, these benefits may not be as pronounced as they could be.

Lastly, the anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and probiotic effects of some ingredients likely make Elevate a good product for gut health too.

Does Avantera Elevate Work?

Overall, it is likely that Avantera Elevate will work as a nootropic supplement. All of the ingredients in Elevate are clinically researched and have a lot of good evidence behind them. However, only some of the ingredients in here are at the recommended dosages.

There is enough Bacopa, but it is unlikely that there is enough turmeric or lion’s mane simply because you need at least 500mg of each for optimal benefits, but the total blend those are in only weighs 355mg.

Also, there may or may not be enough L-theanine, CDP choline, and/or green tea extract. These ingredients aren’t needed in as high of amounts, but the total blend only weighs 295mg. L-theanine alone is usually more potent at a dose of at least 200mg, so it is unclear if the dosages in that blend will work.

In sum, the positives should still outweigh the negatives considering the synergistic effects that can occur when the ingredients are combined.

Who is Avantera Elevate Best For?

With the specific ingredients here, Elevate is best for high-stress, anxiety-prone individuals who want an extra boost to optimize mental performance throughout the day. It only contains mild stimulants, and most of the ingredients are designed to provide a calm, steady focus, so this isn’t for anyone looking to get all wired up.

If you’re someone who wants to be able to calmly go about your day while increasing productivity and performance, this product is worth considering.
