Adriana Lima’s Diet

Summary

Lima eats clean, meaning fresh, whole, natural foods like lean meat, plenty of vegetables, oatmeal and at least a half gallon of water each day. She tends to eat more early in the day, and less as the day progresses. To help tame her sweet tooth and help rev up her metabolism, she often has a blend of buckwheat, hemp milk and honey in the evening. Lima also has a special diet she follows before a big runway show. It involves consuming only protein shakes for 9 days pre-show, and then nothing at all, even water, in the 12 hours leading up to the show. This diet has earned criticism but Lima defends herself by saying she eats regular food the rest of the time.

The key to balancing [extra food] is keeping my body active. If I have a gym at my hotel, I’ll wake up and do a quick workout…Another good trick of mine is packing a jump rope and doing 10 minutes in my room first thing in the morning to get my heart rate up.
